Our friend suggested this fine restaurant to us. My Husband enjoyed the Chicago Cut ribeye and I had the filet with peppercorn encrusting. Both were prepared perfectly, paired with some fresh spinach and salad,. Our meals were nothing sort of magnificent! .

Elvis was our waiter, and he was simply excellent! He was attentive, friendly, informative, humorous and professional. When we do eat at Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse again, we will request Elvis for our waiter. The 22-oz WR House Cut bone-in ribeye was prepared perfectly, and my wife's paillard of chicken, double baked potato and wedge salad were simply out of this world. So, when you go to Chicago, and you like steak go to Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse!

Great place, excellent food, however the smallest stake was 14oz, could do with a 7oz option. Not everyone needs to eat half a cow!

I was here with a date from out of town and this was their first dining experience in Chicago. What an impression Gibson's made! He loved it, as did I. We will come back again!
Easy to find, impeccable service and everyone, from the minute we walked through the door, was welcoming and helpful. Our waiter, George, was knowledgeable and paid attention to our table without being obtrusive. The food was fantastic and the steaks truly lived up to their reputation: perfectly prepared, tender and flavorful! Being advised as to which dishes should be shared was a plus!
What a wonderful place to enjoy home town food at its best and watch the street scene on a beautiful Saturday night. Chicago showed off its best with Gibson's!

Our ribeye steak was ordered medium and it came raw. We sent it back and it came back rare again. Sent it back once more and it was not much more cooked but since it tasted so good we did not complain again.
What made our entire meal so enjoyable was Zach, our waiter. Very personable, professional and would ask for him next time we are dining.
We are neighbors so we dine here often. I think the kitchen was having an off night but the tast and quality of Gibsons meat is the finest in Chicago.

We came for dinner and were seated immediately. Everything was great, from the service and food, to the descriptions of the desert options. The NY bone-in steak was done perfectly, as were the lamb chops. We had the chocolate mousse cake (it is huge) a d it was sinfully delicious. Overall, Gibson's provided a wonderful experience.

Great setting, traditional Chicago steak house, lots of charm with a greAt atmosphere. Cuts of meat outstanding and the service was excellent. Well worth a visit. Be warned if you have room for desert they are large and you may want to share. All round excellent !

The food was amazing but the service was terrible. It’s like a factory- get you in and out so next customer can get in and out. We were very disappointed as there are so many other places we could have tried.

2 dined on Saturday evening at Gibson’s. One of us was celebrating a 51st birthday. One ordered a doz oysters, house salad, and porterhouse and the other ordered the shrimp cocktail, house salad and sea bass. We shared the giant white beans and hash browns sides. Everything, I mean everything, was absolutely delicious! I do not usually or easily use superlatives in describing my dining experiences. Maybe it’s because I’m not often impressed, esp at high-end restaurants. However, Gibsons met and surpassed the challenge. The steak and sea bad were each tender, cooked correctly and very tasty.
The sides were high quality and delicious.
The service was impeccable. Kudos and many thanks to Gregory and staff for excellent customer service...all truly service professionals. Friendly, pleasant, happy, helpful...they made us enjoy ourselves and our Gibson’s experience.
Do yourself a favor. Go somewhere where you know you will actually enjoy a night (or day) out. You deserve the best. Go to Gibson’s. A++.

I live in Chicago and many times people tell me Gibson is mainly for tourists and you might think this has a meaning in quality but actually I could not agree more to say this is the best steak I have eaten so far in Chicago, great service and nice atmosphere

While the new hamburger we tried was delicious, we were very disapoointed with the Caesar salads, which had a small puddle of water at the bottom of each bowl, and tasted ... well, tasteless! Very little cheese, dressing watered down completely, and not even the HINT of the taste of anchovies let alone the appearance of one. Awful. Very unusual, as I've ordered this before without these problems.

And then the prime rib sandwich! Horseradish sauce had the consistency of water and a very weird taste, and a couple tomato slices were added as well, so that the sandwich was soggy and didn't taste good at all. Removed the meat, scraped away everything inside the roll, then returned the meat and ate itvthat way. Much better! At least you could taste the prime rib, which tasted like it could just as easily have been a veggie burger before before we eliminated the filling.

The service was stellar tho ... as always.

Gibson's had the most flavorful steak of all the big Chicago steakhouses that I have been to. Our Chicago cut bone-in ribeyes were preceded by a hearty bread basket and we paired the steaks with charred rapini and the twice-baked potatoes. The steaks were fantastic, the greens were fresh and sweet, and the potatoes were well-done yet a bit boring in comparison. Desserts were enormous, but more spectacle than substance.

New Years Eve dinner 6 people. We were seated ahead of our reservation in the up stairs dinning room. The food was on par with Gibson’s reputation. However, we had the unfortunate experience of a waiter with a arrogant and sarcastic attitude. Our first Gibson’s dining experience *** stars.

New Years Eve with a friend. Our waiter was outstanding. Unfortunately, the food overall was not. Steak was perfect, baked potato good, asparagus mediocre and the Cesar salad was awful. Prefer to eat here at the bar.

We celebrated an anniversary with our kids at Gibson
The garbage salad was excellent but a bit heavy on the dressing (ask for it on the side). They corked a bottle of wine for us for $30 Reasonable but if you bring a bottle it cannot be part of their list. The lobster while good was not its usual succulent taste and the New York strip had a bit too much marbling than I have come to expect. The waitress was fabulous

Waiter was very inattentive which was actually a positive because he was dismissive and rather surly when he did grace us with his presence. We were celebrating a birthday which I noted on the reservation but our waiter did not acknowledge. He didn’t engage in any of the typical pleasantries one would expect at a high end restaurant. Just came and went. We saw the staff gather at other tables for celebrations which looked fun. Those tables were obviously being served by one of the professional waiters at Gibson’s. It was our third visit this year but not in a hurry to go back.

The staff was very attentive and seemed genuinely concerned when my steak knife broke in half. Waiter commented that he had not seen that happen in the three years he had been working there. They comped a round of drinks, desert, and gave us 2 steak knifes so we will never forget. Enjoyed the food and the whole experience.
