   What an incredible night, celebrating my daughter’s 31st birthday - couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the end of an era here at the Gibby’s St-Sauveur. Wonderful service, beautiful atmosphere and sensational hospitality as always. Gibby’s St-Sauveur will be missed, Niá:wen, thank you, merci!

   I went to Gibbys’s all my life and for hundreds of time for some periods even once every second week. I did a reservation for 11 people for my 40th birthday on the last weekend before the Saint Sauveur location will be closed. I was so excited to bring my friends there for their first time in their life so they can enjoy their first and last meal at Gibbys’s. It was a terrible experience. A guy was singing on the second floor so loud that even on the table, we were not able to speak to each other. But the nightmare really start when we receive the foods the salads was dry and poor quality. Secondly, the famous home gibbys crouton inside was replace from the grocery store one (Grissole brand ) instead of their homemade crouton even the waitress told me the chef has tpiss and exhausted and didn’t want to do more crouton for the last weekend. In between meal usually they have a nice homemade lemon sorbet to clean your palate before the main meal , and unfortunately didn’t have any and they bought some commercial grocery store super sweet mango sorbet. When I order my fillet mignon, the sauce came so liquid that it was not even good. I never experienced a meal like that in my life and Gibbys’s We finish to eat around 1040 and we needed to stay in the restaurant until 12:45 because the system for the cashier had a problem and we were not able to pay her receipts. We wait two extra hours to be able to pay and leave the place. We were so exhausted. We spend probably around 2k for such a bad experience like that i never tought it would ever happen in gibbys in my life Really bad experience for a last meal in my favorite restaurant in the world Even the picture for the birthday was so much poor quality we dont even see faces on it compared to every other picture taken in the past 25 30 years. I wish this nice institution would never has been sold

   Amazing. Hard to believe this outstanding local staple will be closing. I’m glad I got to spend time here.

   A nostalgic visit; well worth the effort. Although we don't come often, we always enjoy the visits.

   Sorry to see a great institution like Gibbys St-Sauveur close. Even thought the Montreal location remains open, we have been going to St-Sauveur for birthdays and anniversaries for 37 years. Too bad someone wouldn't buy it and continue such a great restaurant.

   We had a special dining experience at Gibby’s St-Sauveur, one that perfectly captures the warmth and tradition that have made this location so beloved. From the moment we arrived, the welcome from Jennifer set the tone for an evening of outstanding hospitality. Christine and her fellow waitress, both seasoned veterans with over two decades of experience, exemplified the kind of service that makes Gibby’s feel like home. The meal itself was everything you hoped for—starting with that signature warm bread and classic Gibby’s pickles, a staple that has delighted guests for years. The crisp salad with garlic dressing and homemade croutons delivered its familiar, comforting flavors. My shrimp dish, beautifully garnished with rice (a touch now missing from the Montreal location), was a highlight, and a warm baked potato. My husband’s steak was cooked perfectly and expertly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. The Monte Carlo potato was equally delicious. As Gibby’s St-Sauveur prepares to close its doors, experiences like this become even more meaningful. This was more than just a meal; it was a moment in time, filled with excellent food, impeccable service, and memories that will last forever. It’s bittersweet, but what a legacy this location leaves behind!

    Gibby’s is a Saint Sauveur staple! The food and location is excellent. It is a shame they are reportedly closing as this place has been around for many years and upholds an amazing reputation. I hope it stays open!
