Beautiful setting, but a deeply disappointing dining experience. We had high expectations given the location and price point, but the meal fell flat on nearly every front. Nearly every dish we tried was overwhelmed by lemon and basil, making the flavors feel repetitive and one-dimensional. The menu leans heavily into modern presentation but lacks substance or depth. We ordered two antipasti and two pastas, and none were memorable enough to continue the meal — we left without trying mains or dessert. To make matters worse, the service was painfully slow. At one point, we had to wait an extended period just to get our wine poured — and despite purchasing a full bottle, it was kept behind the bar, out of reach. We weren’t allowed to pour it ourselves, which added to the frustration. For a restaurant with premium pricing, we expected something much more thoughtful and flavorful. Unfortunately, Giano prioritized flair over flavor and formality over hospitality. Stylish plates, but little soul.

Treated my life-threatening allergy like a joke. I have a nut allergy (pretty common) and I inform every restaurant when I book. If the restaurant has doubts, I just go elsewhere, no big deal. I also carefully inform the server before I order so that they can inform the kitchen. Yet when I asked my server, after ordering, if he had checked with the kitchen to ensure that the bread he served was nut-free, his response was to point at the bread and say "this one walnuts, haha". He continued to joke about my allergy as I asked to be sure that the kitchen knew and was taking care, shrugging his shoulders and saying "hopefully!" This was an incredibly stressful experience, and I would advise anyone to go elsewhere so that you can be sure your meal is prepared with care. If you have an allergy or intolerance, avoid Giano like the plague!

Ecco una possibile recensione in tono positivo, elegante e naturale: Recensione: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Abbiamo vissuto un’esperienza davvero impeccabile. Il servizio è stato preciso, attento, senza la minima sbavatura: personale cordiale, sempre puntuale nel soddisfare ogni richiesta. Il cibo è stato all’altezza delle aspettative. Abbiamo mangiato il polpo, morbido e saporito, gli spaghetti “taratatà”, un piatto siciliano ricco e ben bilanciato, e la tartare di tonno, fresca e deliziosa. Tutto curato nei minimi dettagli, sia nel gusto che nella presentazione. La location è altrettanto speciale: un giardino interno accogliente, con tavoli distribuiti in modo armonioso tra il verde. Un’esperienza che consigliamo vivamente. Possibilità di scelta di piatti senza glutine.

This was our absolute favorite meal in Rome; not just for the incredible food, but for the exceptional service we received from Stefano and Matteo! Stefano really made us feel special on our honeymoon and Matteo, the sommelier, recommended to us the best wine we’ve ever had in our lives. Stefano was our server and he is the embodiment of excellence, class, and knowledge. He knew everything about the menu and recommended us dishes that absolutely blew us away - the Nebrodi pork, the tuna belly, etc. The Spaghetto ai tre pomodori is something we’ll talk about for the rest of lives; the most simple pasta dish but unbelievably flavorful. Matteo sold us on a bottle of Costa del Vento - a timorasso from Piemonte. Golden color, dry with slight fruit notes, with a strong but not overpowering body. It was absolutely exceptional. If you are in Rome, staying at the W or not, you absolutely HAVE to come here and ask for Stefano and experience the most amazing meal of your life.

The evening was particularly excellent, starting with the service, both the head waitress was extremely pleasant and the sommelier suggested excellent wine to accompany our chosen dishes. I really liked the chef's approach to food. The focus was more on taste than on how the dish looked, without adding unnecessary showy additives, and allowing you to fill up on the extra vegetables, salads, etc. offered.

Dinner was outstanding, as always. The wine paired with the meal made it that much more spectacular. The service team and decor also impeccable. This is exactly why we keep coming back - one of our favorites in Rome.

Outstanding food quality, excellent friendly service, nice atmosphere inside and out. My issue was the wine prices, the most incredibly overpriced wine list I've ever encountered in Italy and not on just the big names- across the board it was difficult to find something that wasn't marked up beyond a reasonable margin. Every wine is priced significantly higher than similar restaurants in California for the same wine. Extremely disappointing given the high quality and reasonable prices for the food.
