About Darcy's Ristorante (FKA Gianfranco by Darcy Ristorante)
Darcy's Ristorante is a landmark Italian restaurant bringing the best to North Scottsdale. As a local fixture that has been offering irresistible Italian dishes and an extensive wine list, we are proud to be North Scottsdale's choice for Italian dining. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just looking to enjoy one of our specials with all the flavors of the old country amongst friends, come in and explore the Italian food that has made us famous.
We are tucked away at the westerly foot of Pinnacle Peak. Beyond the simple wood and glass entry door is a bar and a dining room that exudes an aura of comfort and hospitality. Double clothed tables in pale taupe and mustard are mated with wood-framed oval-backed dining chairs that are beautifully embellished with nail heads. The seats and backs are upholstered in fawn brown ultra-suede. The whole thing comes together to create a mellow friendly ambiance, a home away from home feeling.

Darcy's Ristorante (FKA Gianfranco by Darcy Ristorante) Ratings and Reviews
Just returned to our Snowbird Haven, and as always, the food is consistently great; the service is attentive, friendly, and professional, from "H" (wonderful new hostess with hard-to-pronounce name) to bussers to waitstaff and the kitchen pros. Special kudos to Karen, Mitch, Mike the Bartender, and "H."
What a great find! My husband and I are staying near Scottsdale for a couple of weeks, and we felt like some good Italian food. And we found it — just a few minutes from where we’re staying! We arrived during Happy Hour, then ended up eating dinner at the bar so my husband could watch Monday Night Football. The chef accommodated our vegan diet with a pasta dish and a risotto dish. We were very pleased, and will definitely come again the next time we’re in Scottsdale!
We are frequent diners along with another couple and ever since Gianfranco left things have gone steadily downhill. Last weekend we found Darcy was no longer present and asked. We were told he was no longer with the group. We saw no familiar faces in the staff and for a Sat. night there weren't many customers. Two of our party had the Pomodoro and it was not good. Very sticky sauce and rigitoni noodles. The place has lost it's charm and obviouly customers too. I doubt we'll return and if it keeps going in this direction it probably won't be there long. Too bad because we 4 always looked forward to our monthly dinners there.
had to ask for bread twice, water 3 times. food was at best, adequate. have had dinner MANY TIMES there but would be had pressed to return. relative to other fine Italian restaurants, I find this a little overpriced. the young lady greeting us was both professional and polite.
First time back under new ownership while everyone was friendly and acomadating service was disjointed and not polished.
It was a quiet Saturday in early August. My fear if this was a busy night I think it could have been bad.
Food was very good But I am in no hurry to rush back. Sorry Darcy!!😐
This was our second visit to the restaurant. First visit was very good. This visit was less than memorable. My veal parma was a let down. Veal was too thin and almost undetectable after breading, cheese and sauce. We had to pour our own wine refills and no offer was made for a second bottle. Twice we had to ask for our EMPTY water glasses to be refilled. No offer was made to offer us additional bread. Service was generally inattentive, although pleasant. Cappucino machine was on the fritz :(
This was our 2nd visit to Darcy's, and, much like our initial experience, it certainly didn't disappoint. Great Pasta Fagioli (pricey $10), but outstanding! Wide selection of menu items all ,by our experience, very thoughtfully prepared. Service is stellar. Brian is a consummate professional. Great bar and wine list, as well.
It seems as if the quality of the food has gone down recently. I am so sorry to say it but it seems that the cuts of meat are less high quality , the tuna tartare and even the shrimp. Gianfranco always used top quality proteins and it feels like new owner may be cutting corners. We are so sad bc this is one of our favorites spots and Mike, the bartender is the best in the valley.
Horrible experience. Waiter took 30 minutes to bring drinks and 50 minutes to take food order. When food was delivered after an additional hour one meal was missing. After another 35 minute wait we cancelled the missing meal. Had friends from out of town and will not repeat this experience. For the price we will go elsewhere for future meals.
Service was very poor. They brought part of the meal, and the remainder (like the pasta) over 5 minutes later (meanwhile the other was getting cold. The waiter never came to the table to refill the wine glasses, and we waited over 15 minutes for the dirty dishes to be cleared (and I finally asked for the bill). The waiter never did ask us about dessert. Won't be going back and can't recommend!
It had been a wile since I have been to Gianfranco's ... I hadn't thought of them for a while so decided to go back since it is close to home. Service is just wonderful, the lobster ravioli with vodka sauce special was really notable. Great dish! Not a robust wine list, but the Italians on hand were great! Ended up with a favorite 2012 Amarone.
Our server, Brian, was a "rock star!"
