with a large party after the Wine walk I assumed we'd have to wait (even with our reservations) NOPE we were seated on time and service/food etc great. We will be making this an annual place to eat after the Wine Walk :)
Great! As usual..!
Loved the new BBQ chicken salad. Enjoyed the zucchini fries and Romano Crusted Chicken salad. Wish they would bring back the ricotta balls dessert.
Would come back again. Menu has lots of great selections
Best kale salad ever!
Excellent price for lunch combo.
Yummy pizza both regular and GF crust.
Best pizza in the western suburbs of Chicago (or in my opinion, best in the world, no joke...) Do yourselves a huge favor and try the deliciousness
Love the food and wine and the service has always been great! Bright and energetic ambiance (sometimes energetic due to small children). Not cozy but not 'cold' either. Tables are a bit close to each other so if you don't like being very close to your table neighbor, you may not enjoy the ambiance. Food, wine and service, however, make up for it.
Overall very good it was just loud.
Wow, very nice! I don’t know how we had never been there before. Food was great, waiter was great and everyone was happy. Only minor issue is that tables are very close together. I felt like I was dining in a West Loop hot spot! Overall, a local gem!
Had an open table reservation and still had to wait almost 40 mins - we did add 1 person but they are rude and it’s not justifiable - overpriced , crowded -
Garlic bread is awful - no garlic on it and burned -
The staff is so friendly! Food is always excellent. Very accommodating with food sensitivities and preferences. I really love eating here—they do it all right!
Great food with an attentive staff. Gluten friendly menu is a real plus
Gia Mia never disappoints. Our kids all love the food, and the appetizers. We love it so much we bought ourselves a gift card so we could get the $10/month promotion.
Despite making reservations, we were seated in the bar section near the front door even though we asked to be seated in the back. We even said we’d wait longer for a spot in the back & they said no problem. A few minutes later, she said she had one in the back ready and started walking us back. She then kinda faked us out and suddenly stopped 10 feet later and just stopped and sat us right by the bar and bolted. We were just standing there looking around like- oh, well, I guess we’re sitting here then. It was very disappointing. We tried to get her attention, but she walked away super fast before we even realized what was happening. We sat for 6-7 minutes before we saw anyone, never heard the specials, and just got hustled right into the ordering process. Apparently, since we were seated next to the bar, the bartender was also our server. He was nice, but his main function was running the bar. He was so busy mixing drinks, we barely saw him. Also, the servers were constantly turning the corner behind our table and they would often turn the corner speaking or shouting loudly on their way back in to the dining room. One server yelled back to the bar so loud right behind me that I jumped. We were out of drinks and left with dirty plates for most of the meal. We opted to get dessert since it was NYE & ordered the Tiramisu. It was good, but it was still frozen in the middle and clearly not made fresh. Just disappointing. Overall, we sat freezing by the front door and wondering when our server would ever come back. The meal was delicious, but overall, it did not feel like a special experience. Kinda bummed since I really liked this place.
New Year's Eve at Gia Mia was a wonderful way to end the year on a delicious meal. Although they were busy, we were seated at our reservation time. I ordered the beet salad and eggplant small plate; both were yummy. Our waitress had a great personality and ensured the meal flowed. I feel we got the appropriate attention on a very busy night. There was noise but it made the restaurant alive. I certainly could carry on a conversation with no problem. This was my first time there but it won't be my last!
We love Gia Mia!! Our favorite restaurant for our whole family hands down!!
We tried and loved their pizza and pasta. Well worth the trip.
We LOVE Gia Mia! The service is ALWAYS good, the food is delicious and unique. We always take out of town guests to Gia Mia. However, it’s pretty loud-sometimes hard to hear one another. The only suggestion would be to do something about the acoustics. Otherwise-Great place to eat!!
Too loud at night!!
Food was amazing. Will definitely go back.
awesome upscale Italian Pizzeria with a gourmet flare for flavors. Yummo!
This was our 1st visit to Gia Mia and I looked forward to a great experience after having heard so many good things about this Wheaton restaurant. The staff was courteous and friendly the atmosphere was a little too loud for our tastes. We ordered our food but were brought the wrong entree twice the 2nd time we just ate what was brought to us. The food was very good and we will visit again.
The waitress was very accommodating in finding us a better place to sit. It is not a great place for people with trouble hearing each other. Otherwise it is great addition to Wheaton.
Every time I go to Gia Mia, I wonder why I don't go more often. It really is wonderful! The wild mushroom ravioli I had for an entrée was outstanding, as was the meatball app. My kids ordered 3 different pizzas and really enjoyed them. My only critique is that the tables were a little too close together for comfort in my section (near the door). It was hard to enter or leave the table without bumping into the diner behind you. But that won't keep me from returning - I may request a different table though!
Great Food..had the short rib gnocchi
Gia Mia never disappoints! Amazing food, service and ambience.
Good food very good service
Food is exceptional and Italian wine is moderately priced. We love to share plates and everything is so tasty. Always an enjoyable meal.
Enjoyed the sampling of the small plates that we ordered.
We really enjoy the food. We always order several dishes to share with the table so we don’t miss out on anything. And once again all choices were excellent.
Really enjoyed the food. Attentive service. A very interesting menu.
Tried the risotto and it was fabulous, my friend had the mushroom ravioli and it was fantastic as well.
Gia Mia is always a win. The food is tasty and the service is speedy. This is a regular stop when we are in Wheaton!
We were seated right away and staff was very friendly. We were recommended specials and our choices didn’t disappoint. Great menu and ambiance!
First time visiting this unassuming restaurant on Front Street Wheaton. A little difficult to get to, as there was construction on Front but this was a perfect place to get together for a ladies night out. We loved everything we ate!! We started with the unique but extremely tasty cauliflower small plate. The combination of flavors was heaven! We also enjoyed the beet salad, Brussels sprouts and Margarhita pizza. The food was so delish I am planning to go back soon with my other girlfriends and also plan a date night with hubby soon. I was looking over the menu for “husband options” and saw a great looking Shrimp and Lobster pasta that I know he would enjoy. The setting is somewhat cafe like, but well lit, light wood interior. The bar menu includes speciality drinks like a Blackberry Mojito which I also enjoyed. Pricing was moderate w two drinks total for three persons about $30 each. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we did! Can’t wait to go back!
Food and service are great. The ambiance is impacted by the temperature in the dining area. If it’s cold outside, then every time the door opens it becomes cold inside. Many diners were wearing coats during dinner. The hosts knew that certain tables were in extra cold areas- and asked customers if they wanted to sit there beforehand. The tables near where the dishes and glassware are busy with staff moving about, which is a bit disruptive.
Food and service is great - love the food!
Wonderful food. Lively place. Friendly and attentive service.
Service was exceptional and the food was outstanding as usual!
Wood Fired Pizza was outstanding, Appetizers were to die for. Shrimp over polenta, Ricotta & honeycomb spread on crusty bread. Italian Farm salad was fresh and wonderful. We had rigatoni with bolognese sauce - delicious! Paccheri vodka sauce was yummy! Chicken parmesan was good, but different than your standard. Fresh pieces of mozzarella on top without sauce. It was good. There were 4 adults who like to eat sharing all of this and there wasn't a crumb left. When we go back, I'd re-order everything minus the chicken parm. I'd want to try at least 1 new thing. Everything else is a must have again. Oh and for dessert we had tiramisu and a nutella pizza with strawberries. Again - all gone and 4 happy faces. If you're ordering the shrimp over polenta, get some bread because you don't want to let the sauce go to waste. We were fighting over dipping!
