Gi-Jin is a gin and raw bar that re-imagines the sushi experience where we marry global ingredients with traditional Japanese flavors to create inspired combinations of color, technique, and style.

Our intimate space operates on a reservation-only basis for parties of
no more than FOUR (4) people per table and ONE/TWO per seating at our counter.
Online reservations are always open with real-time availability.
Each reservation seating is designated 2 hours per booking.

We do not allow any outside alcohol. if you have a request for a specific beverage please email info@gijinpgh.com prior to your visit and we will try our best to bring it in!

                                                                          Dined here for probably the 10th time to celebrate my birthday. This restaurant is all around great I will always continue to come back. When I visit I usually start either with the edamame or onigiri. The dynamite crab is also a great option. Their specialty are hand rolls so I always make sure to order a few of those in addition to some nigiri. All of the staff I have met here are great super friendly and attentive, but I want to shoutout Patrick (not sure if you will see this ever but if you do hi!) I typically only drink tequila as a result of a health condition I have tequila tends to be the cleanest distilled type of libation (I never realized they don’t typically carry tequila behind the bar) but Patrick was kind enough to walk next door to one of their sister restaurants to get some to make a drink for me. We gave him a tip specifically in cash to make sure he got all of it instead of it being split amongst the staff team. He was also very knowledgeable about the menu and how everything was prepared. Don’t forget dessert, I have rotated on desserts here and honestly all of them are great. I will continue to dine here plenty in the future, a small note to keep in mind the restaurant space is quite small and quaint so if you are interested in planning a reso here make sure to do so ahead of time I usually book 3/4 weeks in advance.

                                                                          I think overall the atmosphere was perfect and clean. Food was a bit expensive but I find worth the value (ingredient freshness, plate layout) I enjoyed all the dishes, beef hand roll and sashimi plate. I would say Gi-jin is the top Japanese restaurant and hand roll place I have found in Pittsburgh. The cocktails tasted refreshing and fruity! I would recommend this place to anyone if you don’t mind the price.

                                                                          Gi-Jin has easily become one of my favorite restaurants, and I can honestly say I would eat here everyday if I could. I’ve never had a bad experience, and my most recent visit was particularly excellent. Gi-Jin has become a routine staple every time my cousin visits me. I don’t even ask if she wants to go anymore, I just make the reservation. The sashimi plate is excellent, and I would eat 5 of those matcha tiramisus if it was good for me. You can spend some money here, but you are getting what you pay for, 1000%. Also, the kimchi is delicious. I wish I could take a container of it home.

                                                                          Had a wonderful night at Gi-Jin before seeing a show at Heinz Hall. Delicious sushi and cocktails. We especially enjoyed the chef's special nigiri. If you are looking for a great sushi date night, definitely check this place out.
