   very average. mussels as a starter are amazing, but thats as far as it goes. average pub food! make sure they sit you in a seat that's not broken or your stuck with it while you're there, as they so nothing to sort it.

   Great service and very obliging staff at Ghillie Dhu, they managed to get all of my party into one booth to avoid splitting us up. Everybody was delighted with the food, particularly the steak pie. Portions were huge and all agreed it was great value for money. We will definitely go again!

   Ghillie Dhu in Edinburgh was a fun venue and was perfect for our gathering of around 12 people. There did seem to be a problem with our booking, with them telling our guests that the table was not reserved despite us leaving a £50 deposit (which they used at the end of the night)and they found the last remaining booth available, so I wonder what would have happened if this was taken. It was a bit on the noisy side, but enjoyable overall.

   A group of 10 of us attended Ghillie Dhu, Edinburgh at 5pm on a Saturday evening, We were given a private booth comprising of a large square table allowing everyone to sit around. The kitchen had no problems in turning out good, hot freshly made food at the same time. Service was good however did involve us having to attract attention a couple of times due to the table being private. Men's toilets were visually clean and nicely decorated however did smell; the only thing that let the place down

   This was a fantastic find in Edinburgh and we would never have known about it if it had not been for the top table offer. Rustic, authentic Scottish restaurant, the ambience was amazing and the food was superb. Would highly recommend this place.

   Colony bar and grill had a good atmosphere and the food and service were both good, but it felt a little pricey for what it was.

   The Ghillie Dhu is a fantastic venue, food was great even the toilets are immaculate it's just unfortunate that the waiting staff spent the entire evening practically ignoring us! When I queried the bill (hadn't taken Toptable discount off) they recalculated it and still left an additional £3 on. Needless to say I didn't leave a tip. I would go back in the hope this was a one off and perhaps they were just short staffed.

    Ghillie Dhu 2 Rutland Place, Edinburgh, EH1 2AD Tasty food, good service and stunning setting. Well worth a visit for an entertaining evening or luncheon.
