GG's Waterfront Bar & Grill
Great location, nice ambiance. Comfortable atmosphere between casual and fancy. Service was good, but on a slow side overall. Waited long time between appetizers and mains. The food was very good. Some dishes we found to be a bit overpriced; assumed it’s because of the location. Party of 5, 18% gratuity was included in the check. Would consider giving this place another try under different circumstances.
Great place on the water to dine on seafood. It’s very popular so made a reservation.
Disappointed. Stone crab and snapper were not fresh. Snapper was the whole fish special. Fishy and overcooked. Waiter was scattered. Won’t be back.
Sat out on the deck on a beautiful day.
Filet Mignon was cooked correctly, smashed parmesean potatoes were as described (crispy outside, soft inside).
Plenty of food.
I would go back.
Great experience, service was exceptional, food was fantastic.
I loved absolutely everything!
Lobster tails are amazing and burrata is a must try!
Our favorite restaurant in Hollywood Beach. Great service -- prompt, personable, professional -- really good food for decent prices, nice spot on the Intracoastal. We ate dinner there and then went back for their Happy Hour, which offers good wine (and good pours) and affordable snacks -- don't forget to try the delicious Pow Pow Shrimp. We won't hesitate to return next time we're in Hollywood Beach. Our only complaint was the repetitive Euro-beat music, which grates after awhile. With all the great music out there, why not mix it up -- play some Horace Silver or Lee Morgan!
Nice but pricey
I have been to GG's a few times. This is where I got married so I am very familiar with the place. This particular trip was incredibly disappointing. I ordered swordfish that came beyond well done. It was burnt, dried out, and had no flavor to it. I had to send it back and when it came out again it was much better. My wife ordered the special of the day, yellow tail and it too was way over cooked, dried out, and no flavor (strike two). My mother in law ordered the fried grouper daily special and it seems like the cook dropped it in the oil and then forgot about it. It was fried toasty all the way through. Needless to say I won't be back any time soon if ever.
Eaten here a handful of times. Greeting from head hostess was rude-we stood there for at least 5 minutes before she recognized us...the other kind hostess kept trying to check us in w the head hostess but she ignored the girls efforts. The head hostess was busy complaining about a server to another server and never made eye contact with us...kinda set the tone for what we were to expect. With a reservation we were seated close to the bar (inside) and there was a loud obnoxious lady at the bar who dominated the sound making it unbearable to hear my dinner date who was sitting directly next to. Our bread plates were dirty. Food was mediocre (bland) and in my opinion overpriced. Service was mediocre not really attentive. Manager never came to address our table (which I think is often customary in many restaurants-at least the ones I worked at in the past). Every time I’ve been here it has been different times of the day...would not come back for a finer evening dining experience...will stick to brunch and perhaps happy hour recommendations.
From the moment you pull up you are treated with care. Welcomed when you walk in. The wait staff is always on top of things. The food.... ahh the food, is perfect. My favorite is the Cioppino. When you leave you are well fed and send off with smiles and thanks for coming. They do it right.
It was good
We were in town and picked GGs for happy hour and dinner one night. Happy Hour was excellent!!! Food, drinks and service. Dinner was great from setting to service. The red snapper 2 people had at our table was good, a little dry or this place would have gotten 5 starts across the board.
Service was great. Ambiance was next to none. Food was questionable. Lacked flavor and complexity.
Great food , great staff . If your in the Hollywood beach area and are looking for an excellent fine dining experience this is it .
The swordfish was excellent
The lobster wasn’t cooked properly
Cioppino was well prepared except for the lobster.
The dessert “ bomb” was worth getting again
We took my niece to GG's Waterfront for a birthday lunch (3 people). We had a nice view table outside. Our server was very friendly and provided good service. We ordered apps (pow pow shrimp was excellent!)....then we all had main entree. We were all pleased with our entrees (I had the lobster roll....which is very popular there) and had a very enjoyable lunch. I noted in the OpenTable reservation that it was her birthday....hoping perhaps they could bring a small dessert but that did not happen....other than that everything was very good and we will go back next time in the area.
Loved everything, but the music was loud and did not fit the atmosphere....maybe a soft jazz
Service was great and the food was excellent. We had reservations and arrived 10 minutes early. We were seated immediately. Our waiter was very pleasant and professional.
I can’t say that it was too bad, but definitely not the best. The food was average. Very noisy. We have ordered whiskey, but it was diluted with water and the glass was cracked on the top...
The service was excellent- Very busy place and very loud. We were seated outside and the noise level was lower. Our server made great recommendations, and the food was wonderful. We will be back.
We had a lovely time at GG's. They were able to honor our Open Table request for a table outside near the water, which was a lovely surprise, since a special request is not necessarily a guarantee.
The food and drink options were wonderful and Matteo was an amazing waiter. He helped guide us through the specials with enthusiasm - and even gasped with pleasure when we told him our dessert order!
During dinner, the staff must have been watching the weather reports because they started to prepare for the rain before we even noticed it was getting bad. Once it rained, the staff was excellent at moving people that needed to be moved and making sure all the diners were comfortable. The rain passed quickly and we were back to enjoying the evening.
Great location with a view of the waterway. Food good as always. One of our favoriate places to take guests.
Our first night of 4 in Fla., to attend the Orange Bowl, we had dinner with our son and daughter in law at this highly rated restaurant. We sat outside and the view of the water and ambience was perfect: not noisy and very comfortable. The food was excellent and portion sizes were reasonable, not requiring leftover take home. Key lime pie dessert was a rare treat and very delicious. Service was very good too
This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We’ll definitely return. Everything was excellent!
I would recommend this place. Great food. It was my father-in-law’s birthday, and they brought over a little dessert with a candle. It was a nice touch that I really appreciated.
Used to be my favorite restaurant. Last two times food was really awful. Not sure what happened. Hope they go back to their once excellent status
Great but a bit too dark
Overrated and under delivered. Overall a disappointing experience. Food should have been better (and hotter) and our waiter should have been more informed about the menu. The servers were somewhat clueless, much like robots. And it seamed all of the employees just loved to clear the table, even when the items weren't finished. IE: I was asked if I was done with my half finished drink shortly after it was delivered. We were asked if we wanted the rest of the bread before the main dishes were delivered. Etc., etc. I would have expected this type of experience from a restaurant that had just opened. Not GGs.
Great food and service, we make it there every time we are in the area.
You will not be disappointed.
Amazing food and service. The burrata salad was incredible. Loved the steak, shirts ribs were great, and the grouper was perfect. Chocolate Bombe for dessert was the bomb!
Then to GG’s a few times and never a disappointment! Love the food, view and service!
All 5 of us really enjoyed our meals and they were all different. We had jumbo shrimp for an appetizer, grouper, salmon, pasta , a fresh seafood dish and swordfish.
The fish was delicious as was the pasta and seafood. The view if you sit outside overlooking the intracoastal is beautiful. Very good service too. I would highly recommend.
My second time here in a couple years... I really love it... obviously I’m not bank rolled enough to eat in these places weekly but it’s a great treat for my family... stone crab was legit... choppino was epic... service was awesome
Everything was great ! The food and service was incredible
This was our second visit for the week. GG’s reinforced our initial positive impression. Service was attentive and personable. Comfortable booth seating. After martinis we shared a dozen raw oysters from three regions—tasty. For entrees my wife had the tuna poke bowl, which she loved. I had a salad (Champaign vinaigrette) topped with chilled Main lobster. Excellent. On our next visit to Hollywood we’ll dine at GG’s for our kickoff. It’s a great place.
Always consistent and a favorite of ours. Some new items this time and we were very pleased to see.
Try the Halibut - excellent.
Staff always makes us feel welcome.
We were very disappointed in the food - the miso salmon had no miso flavour at all, and all our food came to the table cold. On a more positive note, our waiter was great and the outside seating on the water was wonderful.
Excellent meal as usual! Food was amazing and James our server was charming and professional! Thanks for a great evening!
Enjoyed the Sunday brunch! We were well taken cared for.
