   Great food and value! This was a nice night out for me and my visiting Aunt, who loves Italian. We ordered cocktails and appetizers first - drinks were strong and the bisque was delicious. For our mains, I ordered the smoked chicken fettuccine and she ordered the mushroom risotto - both were amazingly flavorful! I couldn't stop eating and had to have them take it away so I could fit in dessert. We ordered the homemade tiramisu and creme brulee - both tasted of quality ingredients and were nice and light to end our dinner. Their wine selection is great and they have a nice selection of affordable bottles. The service was the only part lacking. It took more than a few minutes for our waiter to even stop by our table. In fact it was a bit of an awkward wait as he kept passing us by and didn't even acknowledge us. Finally we were able to order, but we kept having to flag him down for everything, ordering more wine, ordering dessert and getting the check. The service waiters did a great job of keeping our water glasses filled and clearing our plates, but the main waiter was not great. Overall, pretty much right on par with other reviews - poor service but great food. So while I recommend checking it out, come in with a mindset that service will probably be sub-par. Also sign up for the emails, as you will get a 20% off coupon for dinner. Definitely good value!

   We did not know it was the last night the restaurant would be open. The food and service were horrendous. Very disappointing. We had been there many times before and brought a couple to celebrate our anniversary. Felt like we were taken advantage of.

   We love the attention of the staff and the delicious food especially the seafood and lobster risottos and the osso bucco. The fire on a chilly evening was a nice touch.

   Sadly, although we have had good dining experience in years past, our party of seven was disappointed overall, especially because of a number of issues: (1) We were not given any explanation as to why we weren't seated upstairs as we specifically had requested. We had guests who had concerns about climbing the stairs as well as hearing conversation, which is why I requested upstairs. (2) When my husband inquired and asked why we were not upstairs when he arrived, he was ignored, which was rude. That night, there was an unoccupied table available upstairs during the entire time we were dining. (3) As anticipated, the noise level downstairs was generally too high for our party. My husband has hearing problems, and he was not comfortable. (4) My husband had problems with his order that were ignored by our waiter. Only after several complaints about the dish not meeting his expectations did a different waiter address the issue and removed the item from our bill. (5) One of our friends lost personal items when leaving the restaurant. She had to return to the restaurant the next day and go through the soiled linens in order to find her lost items. So, although we have been dining here since Geranio's first opened, I don't think we'll be returning. Very sad indeed.

   Fabulous food, fabulous restaurant! Owner/chef actually waited on us and was incredibly attentive and gracious! Highly recommend this restaurant!

   it started very well, made reservations for 8:30pm got there and was seated quickly., order food a bottle of wine, the wine and bread came., at 10:00pm the waiter ask was I ready for my tiramisu., i'm like i've never received my meal, the manager was nice, gave the bottle on the house with an extra glass of some port at the end of the night after we got are food, my dae (wife) still payed without her get the service right attitude, a wonderful night for me, date night aka date school she was showing me how to treat her, i love my dae

   Overall a wonderful experience especially for my first restaurant week. However, it seemed they wete under staffed. Our waiter only came to our table three times. We luckily received excellent service from other waiters. Would highly recommend for a date night. We will be back.

   I have been coming to this restaurant on a regular basis. this is the first time we were seated upstairs. we are seniors and it is a steep flight. we saw another couple with a boot and cane being seated upstairs also. one of my party got up to go to the rest room and missed the step. the light is not bright and the floors are old dark wood. no staff person came over to see how she was and was not interested in her well being. there was absolutely no concern and was not happy to bring her some ice to put on her knee. unfortunately it dampens one's desire to go to such an establishment. I can no longer recommend this restaurant to my friends nor will I go there.

    A delicious meal during Alexandria Restaurant Week and great value. We will certainly be returning even when it's not Restaurant Week with the lower prices. Service was excellent.
