We were visiting the area and were able to get a last minute reservation for 6 people. Was a bit chilly, but they provided blankets.

Every April we fly in from the East coast and make our first stop in San Diego at George's. This year brought friends and wanted them to experience this dining experience. Fabulous as always! We especially would like to mention our waiter who we also had the pleasure of meeting last year. He is truly accommodating and on top of things!

First time going. Had an out of town guest & wanted to have fine dining experience with the ocean setting. Unfortunately there wasn’t a fine dining quality menu. I was hoping to treat her to crab legs or other large entrees. It was basically a light lunch. I was disappointed as well as embarrassed.

We were late for our reservation because of traffic. The hostess did a great job of getting us seated as quickly as possible. Everything was outstanding and would definitely try again when visiting San Diego.

We were very surprised how busy, loud and crowded it was on a Friday at 2:45pm. So glad I made a reservation! The only reason I did was because open table popped up. It was my birthday party. And hadn’t been here for many years. I made a great choice and had the fish sandwich, which was very good. My other choice would have been the short rib Panni, my daughter had it so I got a taste. Meat was excellent, but bread in that was very disappointing. Too bad they didn’t use the same bun as my fish sandwich. It was very appetizing at all. Service was great. But I was surprised for being outside how loud and hard it was to talk. We had the cream Bruile for birthday celebration it was so yummy smooth and delicious.

The weather was cold the night we were there, but the server provided blankets. The view and the food were both amazing. The only unpleasant part of the visit was the host; the gentleman working as the 'host' that evening was very unfriendly, almost as if we were inconveniencing him by having a reservation and actually showing up to eat. Otherwise everything else was amazing.

George’s never disappoints. I can’t me here every time I’m in San Diego. Do yourself a favor and visit. And make sure your reservation is on the Ocean Terrace, you will not be disappointed.

Host[a man] was so snooty and rude. Waiter couldn't have cared less that we (or anyone else) was there. Have been eating here most of my life when visiting La Jolla, but may take it off the list.

You cannot get a better view of La Jolla than George’s Ocean Terrace. Cocktails are absolutely amazing and handcrafted. Definitely go to the bar area for a drink before heading upstairs!

Stunning Sunset. We made a reservation a month ahead of our visit but still waited for over an hour past our reservation time to get a table on the outside ring of tables near the ocean.

When I made reservations ahead of time I expected to be seated where I can enjoy the view but they just put us where ever....
Never mentioned anything about our special occasion which is our wedding anniversary. :(

Great view and good people watching. Unfriendly server seemed annoyed with our young but well behaved children. Even though it was one of their birthdays. Menu was disappointingly light on seafood offerings. Nice wine list.

We came here to enjoy a good meal and watch the sunset on our last night in La Jolla. The whole meal was a disappointment from start to end. As is the case with many of these sunset dining restaurants, the hour around the time of sunset is complete chaos. Service is far from friendly and the kitchen invariably gets backed up, leading to dodgy service all around. I started with the mussels appetizer, and it arrived at the table after all of the other appetizers. The mussels were cold, and yet had been very over-cooked. My main course salmon, however, was under-cooked. Our main courses were served so quickly following our appetizers that we had barely finished them before our mains arrived at the table. In fact, we had to hold up our own appetizer plates so the servers could put our main course plates down onto the table (which disappointingly was a tiny high-top), and then we had to hand them our appetizer plates to take them away. Our server seemed a bit overwhelmed, not because he was at all incompetent, but just because service over the sunset hour is insane, with most of the tables in the restaurant having been sat at about the same time. There were many other minor issues, too numerous to list. I definitely would not come back here. There are better places to see the sunset (such as Point Loma) and then go off to a fine meal afterwards.

Came here for Sunday brunch during a bachelorette trip and I'm so glad we chose this place. Ocean views were amazing and our server was personable. Everyone enjoyed the meals they chose; the cocktails were refreshing. I'm already looking forward to coming back when in La Jolla!

View is great, but the food is average at best. Our pasta was over cooked, and the skirt steak was highly recommended but we found the seasoning to be lacking in flavor. Our service was par. Still, I would come back for the view alone!

We found George’s on the terrace a perfect start to our afternoon in La Jolla. The views are spectacular and the food was fresh and well prepared. We enjoyed the ceviche, grilled ahi sandwich and shrimp tacos very much. Everything was well executed, fresh and delicious. Just simple good food at a very reasonable price considering the location. Would definitely return for a lunch with a view.

Ate a mussel that tasted like death!! Thought it was a fluke then bit into another rancid one. They took it off of our bill but were not apologetic about the clearly bad mussels. We finished our drinks and left.
Our cocktails were good. We were seated at a table with not the best view. Very much a party atmosphere.

Gorgeous ocean front view. Martin B. gave us impeccable service...welcoming, relaxed, efficient and friendly. We always make a point of dining at George's when we are in La Jolla. It is a very popular spot, especially at sunset, so make reservations! The food was delicious with some nice and unusual flavor combinations (my Tombo fish with bok choi..yum!) . Observing other tables, the vibe was "happy". People were happy and having a good time. Large tables of business colleagues, small tables (the best located tables!) of couples. George's seems to attract the young professionals, couples and small adult groups. We did not observe many children.

Very disappointing evening. Waited 30 minutes to be seated at our table with an ocean view which never did become available, so sat five of us at a small table for four. Service was very slow and the portions were very small and expensive. Our out of town friends were not impressed with our choice of chic CA restaurant. We will not be returning.

From the moment Tori greeted us at the front door we felt special. Justin seated us in a great table overlooking the Cove. Back to Tori, she waited on us flawlessly, telling us the 4 specials. Liz had the Swordfish sandwich and I had the crab enchalida. Both were terrific. We will b back soon😃

Went here for our 30th anniversary and although the food was wonderful, our service couldn’t have been worse. Our waiter avoided our table and really made what should have been a wonderful memorable occasion into the thought that “we should have gone somewhere else.”

Wow - this is quite a place for an ocean view! We had small group - sat on the rail looking at the ocean for a group of college friends in SD for NCAA tournament. Good options - great service. We shared a couple desserts to finish things off. Highly recommend this spot!

Our final night in San Diego for a family girls' weekend and our one requirement each night was a dinner with a view of the ocean. This was a spectacular venue with delicious food and attentive and personable service. A memorable evening for all.
