Great friendly staff with excellent food. Went for anniversary and was pleasantly surprised when they brought us free dessert.
This is our favourite restaurant in Kansas. Every-time we're in town, my wife and I make sure we go for dinner at George's. Everything about the restaurant oozes class and sophistication. There's so much attention to detail given to the space and the menu.
The space itself is one of the most photogenic venues I've ever been in (I work in media).
The food is cooked to perfection, there isn't a bad option on the menu. Our favourite is the 8oz filet.
The wine and cocktail list is meticulously selected. We almost always opt for the house wine.
It's not a cheap, but you pay for pure quality, and an experience you won't regret.
My husband and I visited George's Bistro for a relaxed Monday evening dinner, and found it to be everything we had hoped for and more. The staff was careful in maintaining distance between the tables. Service was excellent - our server was knowledgeable, professionally, exceedingly polite, and anticipated our every need. We had the charcuterie tray as an appetizer - delicious homemade spread, pickled vegetables, bread, meats and cheeses. It was generally lovely, though the cheese selections could use a bit more care in selection/presentation. We both ordered the Seafood Bouillabaise, which was honestly one of the best meals we have ever eaten. Plentiful seafood-shrimp, oysters, mussels, bay scallops, and salmon- all delicious, but the broth was absolutely amazing! Fragrant, flavorful, and served with french bread to enjoy every last drop. Cannot recommend it highly enough!
Great experience from beginning to end.
Service was great. Chris handled everything perfectly.
Food was also very good. Courses were seasoned well and served at the appropriate temperature. Presentation was also done nicely. (I would suggest adding an Apple Tarte Tatin to the menu!)
Wine selections were very compatible with the menu.
Looking forward to dining there again!
Our first time there. We were there to celebrate our anniversary. Made reservations. Tables were a bit small, but they kept the tables clear for room for our food. It was a very busy Saturday evening but the food and service was excellent! We’ll definitely return!
Outstanding food and friendly and attentive service. Great experience!
I had the scallops and they were fantastic! Our waiter was great!
Food was great!! Our server, Laura, was attentive, but not overly. She was very knowledgeable. Ambience was just right.
Always a fantastic meal! Best chocolate cake around 🍫
Very lovely and fancy place and excellent food! Our server was great as well had a very nice time.
As always the food was amazing. I had the pan fried flounder with fried kale and puréed beets. It was the special and it was amazing!!! We had such a fun time and had a great experience with Chris, our server.
Our waiter, Ali, was so very nice and catered to us. We had a great time with good food
I took my daughter for a daddy daughter date because she loves French cuisine. The overall experience is very nice, great food and the waitress was very informative. The only thing I didn't like was the prices but for my daughter it was the price I pay. Table of 2, 2 entrees, 2 drinks and 2 deserts came to $85 then $15 tip.
Great place. Great staff. Great food. I look forward to returning.
All was great except we had reservations for outdoor seating at 7 pm and had to wait until 8 pm to get seated. The response from the hostess was they just had a lot of walk-ins. I asked if they were supposed to honor the reservations first and she just shrugged her shoulders.
Wonderful & Delicious dinner with our kiddos- we sat in the beautiful, cozy patio and had the best service by Sarah and our Food was PERFECT!
Outstanding as always.
Way too crowded. Full capacity. No social distancing whatsoever.
Excellent dining experience. Our anniversary dinner was a great experience. The service was prompt and attentive. Great care for cleanliness and social distancing was recognized.
Our meal was excellent and the wine selection is good.
Thank you. We will return and refer friends to your restaurant.
Customer service and food are always incredible. Would always highly recommend!
The restaurant was having a special promotion for Restaurant Week--3 courses for $30. The meal was outstanding as was the service. The regular menu includes complete meals as well as salads & appetizers large enough for a meal. We will be back.
Absolutely everything I had envisioned it would be. The food was excellent, staff was mostly friendly and the ambience was nice. Well worth the drive to Wichita.
The food/drinks, restaurant, and service was spectacular! But for the price of the food and elegancy of the place, very poor location. Would be an amazing restaurant for a place downtown on the river!
Perfect food and great wine... as usual!
Had a wonder dinner on the patio. Service and food were phenomenal. I recommend the creme brûlée.
Everything about this restaurant is outstanding. It was perfect for a nice date night or a night to celebrate. We will definitely go back.
First trip to Kansas and this stop was fabulous! Everything was great!!
Lovely experience, great wait staff, wonderful food
Excellent service, atmosphere, food and cocktails. Wonderful experience that makes you feel as though you are not even in Wichita.
The cocktail was not to my liking and was a special of the day. The salmon was delicious but I wasn’t as pleased with the vegetables. But George’s is still one of my top go to places.
We experienced excellent food, ambiance and service. Our server was excellent, attentive to our needs, but not too attentive, friendly engaging and knowledgeable bout the menu. Enjoy the outdoor dining and open to the outdoor ambiance. Fabulous food and cocktails.
We went to Georges for probably our fourth time. We both had the ribeye steaks that in the past have been wonderful. It was our 20 year anniversary so we were looking forward to a fantastic dinner at Georges as we had always had in the past. Unfortunately, the meal did not meet our expectations. The quality of the meat has apparently gone down. Our steaks were extremely chewy and grizzly. What we thought would’ve been the fat on the steak was actually gristle. In addition the consistency of the steaks seemed off. We look at George’s as our go to place for exquisite meals and celebration. This time our experience was a letdown. We have always recommended George’s as a great place to go for dinner but with our last experience we would be hesitant to recommend Georges any longer.
LOVE this place! Great food, great service and great atmosphere!
Made reservations for two on a Saturday night, 715 pm. Glad we did, the restaurant was packed. Immediately seated, and enjoyed wine, appetizers and entree. Great experience overall. Had not been there before.
Excellent service and food. Feels like a big city restaurant with Wichita prices. Highly recommended
We love the ambiance of Georges, whether for a lunch with family, friends or co-workers, or a celebration dinner. The food and service are always outstanding!
This it the first time I have been terribly disappointed in George's. We had a 7 o'clock reservation for 5 outside and we arrived about 6:58. We could see the round table set for 5 and my husband went in to tell them we were there and ready to be seated. They said they needed to "move something" and then they'd seat us. After about 15 minutes we saw them seat another group of 5 at the table. There were no other tables outside set for 5. I went in to demand an explanation and the door person said, "Oops. I'll have to talk to my manager. Sorry." I said, "I don't want an apology, I want my table." We waited another 10 minutes before the manager showed up. More apologies and an offer of appetizers. We said, "No, just get us the table." There were 2 unoccupied tables outside, one for 2 people, and 1 for four people. They removed the 2-person table, brought out another table that was not level and set it, another 5-7 minute wait. Once we were seated, our wait person was excellent, but it took the kitchen almost 45 minutes to actually bring up our dinner. The food was delicious, it always is, but there was absolutely no excuse for the enormous foul-up. The folks they seated at our table didn't even have a reservation. And the sound was not "enthusiastic or energetic." It was too loud so we had to constantly repeat when was being said so we could converse. Up until now I have always recommended George's to anyone. I'm unwilling to do that now. I'm going to have to give some thought to whether I want to go there again given our very bad experience.
We really wanted to love the food but unfortunately it didn't happen. The atmosphere and service were good...not fine dining quality.
We had the calamari to start and the cook was good but it had absolutely no taste or seasoning. We each had soup and my wife said her tomato bisque was ok but nothing special. I had French onion soup (in a French restaurant) ... should be great and It was not. I had the scallops for my entrée and they were good and cooked properly but the potatoes again had no flavor what so ever.
My wife had the Barramundi with seafood risotto and she was sadly disappointed. Again the fish was cooked well but no seasoning and bland. The risotto was gummy and fishy and the little shrimp in it almost made her sick.
Again... Wichita has so few places to call fine dining and almost no French cuisine, we really were looking forward to it. Sad to say it did not meet expectations. We may try again and hope the chef was having an off night or a stand-in.
Not sure what happened but the escargot was bland my filet mignon had gristle the Parisian potatoes were dripping in grease but my husband really enjoyed his meal. Rude pushy man yelling at the hostess but they handled it well. Just not the experience I am used to.
Georges is our go to place for a ‘nice’ meal and great service. Can’t go wrong with the poutine fries, cocktails, and seafood!
