Loud a** white people lol but really tasty food
I have said it before- this is my favorite steak house in the area!! A hidden gem in Rockville Centre. The menu has something for everyone. I am partial to the steaks! My wife loves the filet!! I alternate between the various choices! The service is up beat and the price point very reasonable. Also the bacon wrapped shrimp is a must have.
The food was good, but really not worth the price.
Went for Fathers Day dinner. Not as crowded as Mothers Day yet the service was excruciatingly slow for everything.
We went here for Father's Day brunch. Food looked & tasted great. Staff was very nice & accurate. However, I ordered sweet potato waffles that didn't taste like sweet potato but it still tasted great for a regular waffle. It took a bit long for food to arrive. Most likely because there was only 1 gentlemen serving the food until about 12 (reservation was for 11) but it certainly wasn't due to his lack of speed & he moved very fast.
Reservations were made expecting George Martin original and found out it was the new Restaurant across from the movie house. No ambiance. Couldn't hear ourselves talk it was so loud. It was a birthday celebration ruined.
The food was amazing! So much flavor and it came out so quickly. Would definitely return if I find myself back in the area.
Margarita not good. Burger just ok. Sliced steak sandwich came out too well done when both asked for medium rare. Fatty too. Cauliflower side was good.
What a horrible experience we had for Mother's Day Brunch. First off, the brunch menu usually includes a drink but that was not the case on Mother's Day. Wouldn't you want to have an extra special menu on that day instead of a mediocre one? Strike 1.
Everyone received their food on time but mine was ice cold which meant it had been sitting for a while before it was served to me. We were a party of 4 and only 1 liked their food. Strike 2.
Had to ask for coffee refills and water 3 times but to no avail. Finally got it when I asked the manager. Strike 3.
The manager felt bad and was nice enough to comp dessert and remove my cold entrée from the bill. Needless to say, we will never be back.
We love this place. I had a burger and it was cooked perfectly. My wife had the meatloaf and loved it. Can't wait to go back.
Always enjoy this Rockville Centre Gem - clearly our go to!!! Excellent food and great service! Highly recommend - great menu as well as great specials.
Excellent food and service
Food was very good, highly recommend this place to anyone.
We were all impressed with experience . The hummus and Brussel sprout apps were delicious . The skillet steak fajitas fabulous and the zucchini spaghetti a light flavor filled choice.
Cozy but loud. Food was great. Hard to get the server's attention.
This place has an absolutely delicious burger. Price is a touch on the steep side (their house burger is about $17) but considering the amount of food you're getting and the overall quality, it's well-worth it. Ambience is very vibrant and on a Friday or Saturday night by 7-3:30pm the place is high volume and high energy. They have a great promo where if you're seeing or saw a movie at the theater across the street and present your ticket stub (or in my case an e-ticket), you can get %20 off the bill up to $10. Great local business partnership tactic. In the summer the storefront windows of this place fold out and gives it a very open feel. Beautiful Edison filament bulb fixtures decorate the ceiling and give the restaurant a very rustic vibe. Full service bar and small but nice local beer selection. I highly recommend making a reservation in advance as it gets very busy. Overall, great place and great option for parties between 2-6 people (speaking from a customer comfort standpoint).
Everything was good. Went for happy hour drinks then dinner. Enjoyed both. Everyone enjoyed their meals we had burgers and tacos. Our go to place.
Great skirt steak and fresh veggies. My husband loved his pork chop
We came for the Brunch. We all enjoyed our food and the service was great!
Service & food was great. Another consistent dining experience from the George Martin Group
Great experience. Service and food were terrific.
Date night with my wife. One of our favorite restaurants. The food and service are top notch. Excellent steaks, salads and sides. Very reasonable price point and a great atmosphere. Local neighborhood place at its finest. Definitely a go to for us!! Great menu with great specials.
This was our first visit for me, my husband & son. It was great all the way around. Our server was especially knowledgeable & friendly. Didn’t feel rushed at all. Food was awesome. Great atmosphere as well. We will definitely be back!
Poor service, cold food
Service was very slow but it was a relaxing Sunday so it didn’t bother us too much. We just were very hungry by the time it came out
Mimosas are a bit watered down but great for Brunch. All versions of French toast were delicious!
Birthday Brunch with my wife and friends! Great time was had by all. The food and service were outstanding!!!! Love this place!!!
This was my first time here. Really cool vibe and the food and service were both excellent. Also loved the decor and music. Will be back!
Great food and service as usual!
Horrible service and very expensive food
Food was very good. However they had a few hiccups. The restaurant ran out of chicken, on a Sunday morning. The credit card machine was down and the waitress seemed annoyed by our table.
Started with the spinach dip which was very good. Slight twist to the original, this had something like a salsa and cheese on top. Then I had the chicken and waffles...... amazing. If anything it was to much. Nice alcohol selection. Beers, cocktails, and wine. However the tap beer selection is short and wasn't updated since my last visit a couple months back.
Met a friend at Tavern the other night for dinner. I am continually impressed by this place. We each had the rib eye which was clearly larger then the Indicated weight count on the menu (in my opinion) and was cooked to perfection. I had it with a little Cajun seasoning and the GM sauce. The sides were great as well. Service - top notch!!! Really like this place. Perfect go to !!!
It has a good menu, with something for everyone. My black bean burger with Sweet Potato Wedges was very good. The cheesy bread at the beginning was a little lame - not much cheese. Others at the table were pretty happy with their meals. The beer selection is not all that great; too many of the same types of beer, and the servers usually aren't too familiar with their beers. They can't answer questions about the rotating/seasonal taps and generally seem confused about the beers. They need to up their beer game a lot for me to go back.
This was our second visit to The Tavern. We had a nice experience the first time so we decided to return. We made a reservation for 630 pm. We were greeted immediately and sat. Food was good and the service was as well. Our problem arose the next day when my husband realized we were charged twice for our meal. We called the restaurant immediately and spoke to a female manager, (Sun, Feb 26 at 11am). She apologized for the inconvenience, told us that she would look into it and get back to us immediately. She never returned our call. We still have the double charge on our debit card. Disappointing and a bit of an annoyance that we have to continue to follow up and resolve an issue that we didn’t cause. Not good business George Martin. At all.
VERY UPSET THAT YOU GOT RID OF THE SPINACH QUESO, ALTHOUGH THE NEW DIP IS A GOOD ALTERNATIVE, I DO MISS THE 5 CHEESE QUESO WITH SPINACH
We went on a Wednesday night and discovered Wine Down Wednesday, had the $20 bottle of Cabernet which was really good. Crispy Brussell sprout appetizer was great, Espresso Rubbed Skirt Steak excellent. My husband had Club steak which was not as good but still ok.
Nice and quiet but not too quiet on a weeknight. I know it gets a lot busier and louder on the weekend.
Loving the recent menu change! I normally do not stray from my order of the chili pop shrimp app and espresso skirt steak but I tried something new and was pleasantly surprised. The spinach artichoke dip was absolutely delicious and the Dijon walnut salmon may be my new go to! As always great service, food, and ambiance!
Our waitress was wonderful and the food was very good
We arrived at George Martin's The Tavern at the time of our reservation. They seated us promptly which is one of the few good things we can say about this restaurant.
The noise level is very loud. It took approximately one hour from the time we were seated to when we were served our entrees. We only had a salad prior to our entrees, no appetizers, so the wait for our entrees was too long.
With regard to our entrees. The salmon entree which we ordered with a baked potato was cold and the salmon was dry. The filet mignon entree, which we ordered pink on the inside, which our waiter advised was medium, was rare.
In summary, the restaurant was too loud, the salmon was dry and cold, one baked potato was cold, and the steak was undercooked. It was difficult to find our waiter.
We will not be returning to this restaurant anytime soon and will not recommend it to any of our
