George Martin Tavern Ratings and Reviews
Food is wonderful, atmosphere great. I recommend their roasted glazed brussel sprouts, cauliflower tots and shrimp rolled in bacon .....delicious. I'm sure there are many more wonderful dishes and great drinks. Make reservations on a weekend night to ensure a table.
Dinner was great, would've given the good 5 stars but they ran out of wings....on a Sunday afternoon, during football playoffs! Also the filet mignon sandwich was light on the meat, aside from a a couple of slices..... Overall, a cool place, but somewhat lacking
Great Dinner at Tavern!!! Clearly our go to place in Rockville Centre. Fantastic steaks!!! The Clam and mussel appetizer was outstanding!!!! A great meal, great service. and reasonably priced!! Bought a bunch of gift certificates to give as Holiday gifts!!!! Really enjoyed it!!!
The Bar Tenders were not engaged with the customers. The drinks were poorly made and service was slow. Our meal was ok..not great. Very busy and therefore not great service. Our waitress recognized this and gave us a free dessert. Not sure I would return anytime soon.
The food and service were great. I had a salmon poke bowl with very freshly grilled salmon, brown rice, kale, edamame, and a light Asian sauce. It was delicious. My husband had seared ahi tuna and my friends had short ribs that they couldn’t stop raving about. Will definitely be back.
This restaurant keeps changing names and décor while under the same George Martin management. The ambiance is really nice. The cheesy garlic bread that was put on the table was delicious. Our meal was very reasonably priced because we had a $20 off promotion. The chocolate board dessert was amazing. The entrees were fine but nothing to write home about. My husband had the house steak and I had a burger. Everything was good but I probably wouldn't rush back there at full price. The menu was a bit too "out there" for our kids to like anything except a burger or some side dishes.
First time we tried this restaurant after they changed/renovated. Hip atmosphere, two table choice types (high top or standard) in addition to seats at the bar. The restaurant week menu offered a variety of choices which was a nice sampling of the regular menu. I would recommended to make a reservation for dining on a weekend night as it wasn't too busy when we arrived, but was crowded as we finished. We spent about two hours dining and they did not rush us out.
My friend and I went for the Long Island Restaurant Week specials but other than the entrees for that, we weren't all that interested in what was offered for the appetizers. So we went with the regular menu and were very pleased with the steaks that we got!! We shared a Wedge salad, which was very tasty and her Skirt Steak and my Sliced Bar Steak, with Peppercorn Sauce were cooked to perfection.
We will definitely be back!!!
I absolutely love this place! Came with my family for dinner but I will definitely be going back with friends for a girls night out. The menu has so many great options and the drinks were delicious. The apple pie on the rocks was my favorite. The staff is friendly and attentive. Can’t wait to go back!
I continue to have nothing but great things to say about this place. It has clearly come to be our go to place for an excellent steak or piece of fish!! The chef is outstanding!! I am partial to the “club steak” my wife prefers the filet - both cooked to perfection. The portions are large (usually end up taking a little home), the service is top notch and the prices more then fair!! A great addition to Rockville Centre dining!!!
Had the pleasure of taking my mom (and one of my boys) to Tavern for brunch this past Sunday! We all enjoyed it. We have been there multiple times but this was a first. The brunch menu has many choices for either breakfast, lunch, a light snack or even dinner!! Highly recommend giving this a shot!! The food and service were both exceptional and a very reasonable price point! We will be back!!!
I’ve been wanting to check out GM Tavern since it changed names. The menu was great- lots of selection. We enjoyed the handmade potato chips and dip for an appetizer. Great seasonal cocktails on the menu- I had one with apple cider and vodka that was very tasty! The tacos were delicious. Booth seating was great and the decor looks great. I’ll be back for sure!
