Food was lovely and service was fabulous. We didn’t like the wine and stupidly didn’t taste it first. They were quick to change it for a new bottle of the same wine and it was lovely. It was no bother for them and they were so accommodating.

I booked an early evening meal for 6 for 6:30 pm The meal arrived 1 hour and 40 minutes later. The meals were poor The cooking and taste was inferior. The service was confused. The restaurant was simple pub tables The cost of the meal was nearly £240 I now know why it was empty on a Saturday evening I will not return I live locally and will warn all my friends and neighbours I have since discovered that some of already knew

In hospitality, we learn to accept there are reviews with praise, constructive criticism or just a moan. Your order included a sharing 500g sirloin with 40/45 minutes to cook/rest before serving. This time frame may not have been fully understood but, having arrived at 6.30 pm and paid at 8.24pm, the wait you state is unrealistic. Your opinion of our food/service is not shared by many diners while any issues can easily be raised with staff to address. Your cost of food, wine and beer totalled £210 (£35pp) plus service - quite reasonable for six persons. A hot day with most guests on the terrace and private function in the restaurant - not empty. As an infrequent visitor, you are best served by other options in the area while we work hard to satisfy our customers.

Fabulous Sunday roast and have got to say the best cauliflower cheese you guys have upped your game!! Always great service from the wonderful staff Just so frustrating that we only come to this pub in the summer with our dog because you don’t allow dogs inside why don’t you just consider the front bar area letting well-behaved dogs in?

The food and service at the George IV is outstanding. The food is consistently delicious and the staff are the perfect combination of friendly and professional. Given the 5 out of 5 ratings I’ve given in the past, the George is at least a 6!
