   The food was tasty. I had the Pesto Portobello mushroom burger and my wife had a cheeseburger. The sides were OK, but not great. I had a fruit cup that was a bit under-ripe. My wife had onion rings that were a touch too crispy for our liking. Our waitress was really good. She was efficient, attentive, and had a great personality. We didn't get her name, but she mentioned she was from Germany and was studying at UA. We had lunch before going to the theater at Centenniel Hall and Gentle Ben's is very convenient.

   It felt like we were an imposition. We can came for a birthday and it felt like they did not care about us. Part of the issue was that our waitress switched part of the way through but it still shouldn't take almost 1 hour to get a bill. The food was not worth it either. The ceviche was tasteless, the chips stale, and the rice was partially uncooked. Very disappointed

   We had excellent service, and the food was delivered quickly. My fish taco was a bit over-salted. I had two Margaritas and felt nothing so I wonder if there were any shots at all because the house drink is supposed to have two shots of Tequila.

   Patio was an excellent spot to people watch and watch sporting events. Food was fantastic.

   We had a reservation, were seated promptly. Service was good, servers worked together. Food was good, about what you would expect at that price range. Unfortunately, the noise level was nearly deafening, as a basketball game was on multiple TV's, and the sound system was cranked to 11.

   Started out fine. Waitstaff took our drink order. Took awhile for raspberry lemonade to be delivered. She came back and took our order and we ordered the battered fries to come out before our dinner order. Fries came out in a reasonable time. After waiting 45 minutes for the rest of our food, we asked the waitress to check on our order due to us going to see a play. She was in the kitchen a long time. She came back and told us the order was put on hold for some reason. We told her we needed to leave to get to our musical. She was very apologetic and said she would take care of our drinks and fries we ordered. We could not wait for our order to be put back through. Don’t know what happened to our order?

   My hubby had the beet salad and I had chicken strips. All was good especially the upgraded beer battered French fries!

    At 5pm on a Friday during busy season in Tucson, we were able to use Open Table to book a 5:45 reservation for 4 on the Rear Patio. First time there. Gentle Ben's has been in that block since 1971, which speaks to its popularity and longevity right next to the U of AZ. The Tyndal parking ramp is a half block of University Blvd on Tyndal, so parking was a snap even in prime time. We started with a shared Spinich & Artichoke dip, served in a sourdough bread bowl that everyone loved, even me, who is not a spinach fan. I asked our waitress what were the favorite among repeat customers in the entre section of the menu, and she replied the Shrimp Tacos and the Carnitas Quesadilla. I chose the quesadilla which was good. The others had a pulled pork sandwich, a California burger and a French dip. All seemed happy with their food. The staff were great. Very loud. Warm enough outside even during a cold snap.
