Genji Japanese Steakhouse - Saginaw
Our chef was amazing but the waitresss was awful. The restaurant ran out of Pepsi, jumbo shrimp, and had an extremely limited bar. The food was really good but it took us over 30 minutes to pay.
If you are going to go. You need to go during the early bird. Prices are reasonable then.
Well, They over stocked reservations on Valentine’s Day, Ruining the night, Me and my Girlfriend got there around 7:27, And waited until 8:45 which then they told us that there would still be a 20-25 minute wait, So we left along with a bunch of other couples, I love genjis food and usually their service is fine, But God do they suck at reservations
I made a reservation for 7:30 and we waited for an 1 1/2 hours granted it was Valentine’s Day and expect a little delay but if you make a reservation it should make it go faster. They were seating people that came in before us and they kept saying we are in the next few table but that never happened talking to the hostesses they had no idea what was going on and they said that there reservation system doesn’t stop taking reservation for a certain time when it fills up. We ended up leaving
Great food of course but slow service. We had a reservation for 4:30 and didn’t get seated until 5:15. We were the 1st people there as well and watched others get seated before us. The room was freezing also and the cook wasn’t engaging at all.
Made reservations for party of 8 for 5:00. Were able to get some exceptional Cosmos from the bar at the happy hour price before we were seated for our meal. Waitress and server were very professional, friendly and prompt. We had the Teppanyaki, so lots of food, and a little pricey! All in all a great meal and would definitely go back.
Took us 2:45 mins for this dinner. 45 mins of wait after having a reservation, finally got a table and then another 30 mins of wait before any server came by, and finally we found the manager who is like a 16 year boy. They have no idea what they are doing.
Started off had a reservation but still could not get a seat with a chef that was an hour and a half wait so took a private table and then waited for our waitress to take our drink order then waited even longer to take our food order brought out our salad and soup and had to ask three times for a fork for my girlfriend. The waitress only came by when asked to stop as well with the table next to us. At the end talked to the manager and we were offered a free meal when we come back.
I would not recommend Genji. The bathrooms were filthy....the service was spotty....the portions are smaller....and they didnt even have ice cream at the end????? Only rainbow sherbet? For 30 bucks a head for rice and chicken....uhhhh no
Worst experience. Went right when they opened and sat immediately and we still ended up being there for 3 HOURS. Server made multiple errors and was rude. Food was not as good as usual. Manager refused to listen to our feedback.
Open at 4:30 no one at the bar till 5:15 seated promptly at 5:25. Service was fine but waited for a cook for 40 minutes after Salid and soup. Infant was uncomfortable waiting to eat. Employees were very good! Place is starting to look it’s age, outside needs paint and some dressing up! Men’s bathroom aged and even urinals were nasty! Not interested in returning!
Made a reservation for 7pm - place was over booked and we were not seated until 9pm. While apologetic, the restaurant did not offer any compensation for seating us 2 hours late.
Had 7:30 reservations and didn’t get seated till 8:10
Service was slow didn’t leave till 9:30
It was a little bumpy at first , took a while to get the hibachi started, appetizers came out cold but after the cook started up the hibachi our food was delicious.
Good food but at a premium price. Would dine here more often than if price was more reasonable.
Food was good but we asked our server for change for a twenty bill and he came back saying that he did not have 2 fives and only had 2 tens ...making us feel like he manipulated on what he was going to get for his tip. We waited a while prior to the chef to come out as well.
We go there once in awhile! a lot for birthdays! my boyfriend took me there for my birthday the other day for my 21st. food was good. only thing is the broth is not good with the onions on top. my boyfriend and i most of the people at our table we got seated with, agreed. it was gross with the onions. bring the regular broth back! my boyfriend did not even eat it due to the hard onions on top. also the steak was very very fatty.
Food is amazing and the chefs are fun to watch. And the service is great
