Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Always a winner!
We had lunch on Tuesday. Nancy was a great waitress. Service was perfect. Food was delicious. Restaurant wad beautiful as it always is. What a great place!
Had the salmon this time with cauliflower rice. It was so nice to eat out and have a truly healthy dinner.
The service was impeccable. The room was terrifically designed in the manner of the 18th century. It was very comfortable. The menu is American with steak, fish, seafood, but done extremely well.
We had the most beautiful table on the (inside) terrace room overlooking the little stone house out back perfectly illuminated with fairy lights. Dinner was great as always and the service was attentive but respectful of our desire to sit and chat. Love it there!
Wonderful Friday evening dinner with friends. Food was excellent, and service was very attentive without being overbearing. We were not rushed at all. Definitely will dine here again.
Always a dining pleasure, especially for Bill's 75th!
65th birthday dinner for friend
Love this place!! The mushroom soup is so lovely!!
table side Caesar salad and banana foster were amazing
Everything was excellent. My husband does not like upscale restaurants but he absolutely loved his experience last night
Maureen was our waitstaff. She was fun, informative and very efficient. Enjoyed to Thai Brussel Sprouts and the soup of the day which was a lobster tomato bisque. Great favor but a bit shy on the lobsters and an over abundance of the tortellini. Desserts were to die for!
I very much enjoyed the snapper soup and lamb loin. Service was friendly if a little unpolished. The bar seemed to run a little behind compared to the kitchen. I don't want to be too hard on them - my wife and I enjoyed the experience, and would return. I am comparing it to my previous experiences at the Dilworthtown Inn, which was just a notch higher in my opinion. Sadly, it closed last year after the death of the owner.
This place absolutely oozes ambiance (In a positive way). It's kitschy, it's authentic, it's great, in a way only an old classic building like this can be. Nice fire on the hearth, nice cozy tables. Great service. Great food.
Service was impeccable.
We went there for Valentine’s Day. Took our three kids. Everything was excellent. Quality was high even on the busy holiday. Our server was great too.
Service was good but extremely slow. Food was very good but only lukewarm. I’ve had better meals there before.
A wonderful place to celebrate Valentines Day and our anniversary. The food is exceptional, the service is great and the ambiance perfect.
My husband and I had a dinner reservation at 5:45 PM for Valentines dinner. My husband arrived very early and waited for me at the bar. The Maître d’ told me when I arrived, about 10 minutes prior to our reservation, that we were already checked in. So I told him I’d be waiting for our table with my husband at the bar. It gone on to 6 PM and still no word about our table. My husband reminded the Maitre D again that we were at the bar and he said “I know”. Then I went to check on our table. As I was standing there another couple came in that the manager appeared to know and told him that their reservation was for 6:30 and at this time it was 6 PM. He replied that he could take them right back to their table. I spoke up and said that our reservation was for 5:45 and we haven’t been seated yet, at which time the maître d’ said that he told my husband our table is ready whenever we were, which he said no thing to us. Of course, now my husband and I look like fools in front of everyone. I think he said that to save face in front of his boss, imo. To top it off our food Took nearly 45 minutes to come out from the kitchen. At least our food was delicious.
Valentine’s Day. Great ambiance, excellent special menu and service.
It was great!
My husband and I took my parents here for Valentine’s Day the night before the holiday.
Excellent place for a quiet dinner on a special occasion.
Excellent food and steak! Perfectly cooked. Great unique flavors in all the dishes. Service and ambience was very good. We will recommend🙂
Relaxed enjoyable dining experience. Good food with lifelong friends. Best of all, we were never rushed
Service was wonderful, staff very attentive to our needs and dietary restrictions. Entrees were excellent and served in a timely manner
The meals are amazing and the service is stellar.
I was staying at the Tavern and had friends for dinner. Everything went well. Setting up the reservation was pleasant and they responded well when my flight delayed my arrival. The choices of food was excellent. My mushroom bisque and beef Wellington were delicious. My quests were pleased with their meal as well. The wine choice good be extended to match the quality of the food. We were able to have a long and pleasant conversation. I will go again
The General Warren Inn continues to be in the top echelon of fine dining spots in Chester County. The impeccable building exterior and interior set the stage for another wonderful experience. The bar and bartender Jayne were welcoming and comfortable.
Every course was outstanding- which is a word used for-- above amazing and awesome. The plates/bowls all left the table with barely any remnants. There were four in our group enjoying filet and seafood in addition to having cheesecake and pumpkin tart deserts.
We have The General Warren on the radar for fine dining and have never been disappointed.
Met an old friend for lunch who I hadn't seen in years! We ended up staying until 3:45! The staff was fabulous and left us totally alone, never mentioning we were over staying our welcome. This is my go to for a beautiful lunch!
Excellent service and great food. Table-side fresh made caesar salad and snapper soup are exceptional. I will definitely return as I have not had a bad experience in over 15 visits.
Food great! Waitress fantastic...wonderful personality!
The food was excellent. The noise level was a bit loud for our table of 4 even though we were in a corner of one of the dinning rooms. The service started out fine, but then mistakes were made i.e. we had to ask for bread twice before we got any. A steak ordered med-rare to medium was brought out rare i.e. uncooked in the middle. It had to be sent back. I asked for a fine bottle of wine to be decanted. It was and put on a wheeled table near us. I had to serve our own wine with each pour. I bit better service given the place, ambiance and prices would have been nice. So, great food, but a little disappointed in the amenities.
The food was good. Our waitress, Celeste was not very attentive or welcoming. The surroundings were lovely We asked to change a few things with our food and had to ask again as it did not come as requested.
Dining at the General Warren was a delightful experience. Everything from food to service to ambiance was superb! It was a relaxing environment in which to have an intimate conversation.
Wonderful Gluten free options.
My companion loved the filet mignon...cooked perfectly; however, the fruit de mer seemed very bland. The crab had little flavor. Dessert was every good.
However, service was poor. After receiving drinks, waited an interminable time for order to be taken...had to ask for bread after being told by the server that she would bring bread. Way too many many minutes passed between courses and had to ask for check.
Always a great experience at General Warren Inn. Fire side dining, very good service, excellent food, friendly staff. A dining experience everyone should get to enjoy.
