We has a wonderful experience at the General Warren Inn . The staff is most friendly and responded to our every request. The rooms are unique, with antique furniture and comfortable beds. The dining rooms have several size options, all with historic decor. The food was excellent with daily special of fish etc. Very pretty gardens surrounding the inn, plus lots of parking space.
We always enjoy the atmosphere and service, as well as the food.
Excellent as always
Service was a bit less attentive than normal...probably because of the inexperience our server.
Even though I have been a patron of the General Warren for 25 years or more, this was the first time I ever had dinner on the outdoor patio in the back of the Inn. It was delightful. What a lovely setting! The food, as always, was terrific. I had a lobster roll, and my guest had the filet
Order of Beef Wellington was unsatisfactory. First delivered was hard to cut with grisly grain! Second delivered was just as bad.
Sat down at 5:30, ordered about 6:10. First entry was delivered at 7:15.
Excellent service and food! We enjoyed our meal and plan to visit this restaurant again soon.
Always a great time at General Warrens
We were eating when the band started setting up. Noisy
Have been coming to the General Warren Inn for both lunches and dinners for many years. The setting is charming, the service is always impeccable and the food is delicious. The crab cakes are just as good as one finds in Maryland. The beef is always cooked to perfection. The wine list is always spot on, affording me the opportunity to learn about delicious wines I have yet to try.
We are always very well taken care of here... the Chef made a change for me that was brilliant.
Many thanks again for a beautiful night out! We'll be back with friends next week:)
We LOVE The General Warren Inn! The service is always outstanding, food is delicious, and ambiance is just perfect.
We had a wonderful time and a great meal. Highly recommend for any special occassion!
Delightful, delicious dinner on the old dining room
We had fabulous service, superb food, wonderful quiet corner table, and the staff exceeded every expectation! We had two soups (vichyssoise which was simply stellar, and a roasted tomato Florentine soup) that we both delicious! Then I had the Beef Wellington (it is hard not to have this at the General Warren if you've ever had it and you know how incredibly good it is), which was sinfully good, and my sister had the scallops with saffron pasta (this is a really generous serving of scallops, not one of those sad little plates with 4 measly scallops) which was delicious and nicely seasoned. Then we had two different desserts - a vegan raspberry cake which was so flavor-packed with really excellent chocolate and raspberry sorbet - what more can you ask for? We also had a lemon elderflower cake with lemon sorbet and it too was full of fruit flavor and just delish! The quiet was such a luxury - when was the last time you could have a conversation with a great meal! Thanks for a great b-day meal, General Warren! Go, eat, enjoy!
Our server was fabulous - great as always
Excellent menu, even for a keto eater. Plenty of gluten free options, even for dessert. Sandy was an absolutely delightful server. We ate outside on a lovely day.
It was a terrific romantic experience. Three courses with champagne was an excellent deal. We will return!
We had a lovely time as usual!
Great Historic Inn! Good for upscale dinning as well as a romantic dinner for two.
Birthday dinner. Caesar salad and bananas forrester were awesome as usual. Steak au poive great. Other food just ok
The food is always fabulous! Afirst class-place to enjoy a nice meal with family or friend!
This is a reliably excellent restaurant in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. It is our “special occasion” place to eat out and has never disappointed. This time we had the scallops and the filet mignonette, and both were outstanding.
Honestly a perfect dinner. Our delicious dishes were worth every cent.
We took friends to dinner to celebrate a Birthday. The ambience and service were outstanding. The menu is excellent and provides something for any taste. Food was nicely presented and everything was delicious. We will continue to rate this one of our favorite restaurant.
Great ambience, wonderful food and good service and did not feel rushed.
The General Warren never fails! Have been going there for years. Whether it's lunch, dinner or throwing a party, they are the best.
The food was excellent, as was the server. We were seated on the enclosed sun porch which gave us plenty of light. I would definitively recommend. It was a bit pricey, but the quality of the food was worth it..
We have loved the General Warren for many years and have never been disappointed until our last trip.
We were outside and the mosquitoes were so bad that that we asked to go inside. There were no tables inside. That's fine - but we expected something better than an old, dirt covered lantern with citronella oil offered as the solution. At a table for 7, one dirty lantern did nothing. Finally we went to our car and brought out bug spray. Unfortunately, the damage was done and between the 7 of us we counted over 60 mosquito bites. We were also very disappointed in the shrimp cocktail appetizer. The shrimp was hard and seemingly old. It should not have been served. We will not give up on the General Warren because we have had many lovely family memories there; however, last Friday was not one of them.
Fine dining and elegance at its best. Flawless execution and service
This has been our go to restaurant for family celebrations many years, so we took my Dad for his 100th birthday. When staff realized he had hearing issues they immediately relocated us to a table away from the door so the band in the bar wouldnt interfere and it was refreshingly quiet. The food was outstanding especially the special baramundi, which came with cheery roasted red pepper sauce that was the best fish sauce ever. Beef and pork dishes were also very good. The party chef made a perfect small chocolate cake, deeply rich but not overpowering. I have always loved the country inn atmosphere and the noise level that permits conversation. The lovely rural original paintings, most for sale and many horse- themed, add to the charming and relaxing atmosphere . Service was as good as it gets, attentive but bot intrusive. Definitely continues to be our favorite
A claccic all the way around. Good food. Good service. Good ambience.
Great quiet amosphere. Pleasant, really helpful staff! Outstanding food!
Wonderful evening as always! Wonderful and attentive staff and the food is superb. Truly a Gem!
It was our first time to eat here and we also stayed overnight. The inn is well cared for and is absolutely beautiful. The food was amazing from the appetizer of goat cheese, to the entrees of filet mignon, to the desserts of crepe brûlée and cheesecake. Every bite was pure delight. Innovative cocktails as well. The continental breakfast was also quite delicious, with great coffee and fresh made pastries. We will definitely be back!!!
Had friends in from Austin, and wanted to take them somewhere with an atmosphere they don't have there. The General Warren is always a favorite, and per usual, didn't disappoint!
Very boring memu. Has not been updated since the 60s. Needs a more contemporary menu.
one of the best dinners we have ever had, can't wait to go back the lamb tender loin was amazing
A delicious meal and our server was very responsive to our needs, especially the dietary needs of one of our party.
Always a special place to dine. Thursday nights feature live music that pleasantly spills over into main dining area. Food and service consistently the best you can get.
Great service and terrific food. A must place to visit
