Gene and Georgetti - Rosemont
I'm an old fan of the downtown location. Quality & size of the filet didn't seem to be of par as the old place.
Food and service was very good. It was my first time at the restaurant.
Slow service and overhyped food. There are too many other steak houses to choose from...this one just falls way too short. Money is better spent elsewhere.
Reunion of friends
Very good service and wide menu. Excellent food.
Our waiter made the night!
A bit of a slow start in terms of service, we were seated and it took a good 15 minutes for a waiter to come and ask if we wanted drinks. I was getting a bit upset and about to get up and complain, and then our waiter finally came. After that, he was great, service was great, and food was excellent, just a slow start to the service.
Food came really fast. HArdly has time to finish the appetizer before the main course came
We had an excellent experience. Our server George was outstanding and our food was delicious.
It's my new favorite place.
Had a great steak, brussel sprouts and garlic mashed. Sides are family style which is nice each of you can have a little bit of all the sides.
V very good. Really a nice place and good food. Very nice!
Great location. Highly recommend
Was a very busy night but after being seated it took 33 minutes before a waiter came to take a drink order. We didn't even receive menus until 15 minutes after being seated. Food was ok. 8 of our 9 people received food at once but the rest of the table was waiting for the 9th person about an extra 5 minutes (for pasta!).
I made reservations for our out-of-town group of 5 adults several weeks before our reservation date. We arrived 15 minutes early and were not able to be seated right away which is completely understandable. However, our actual reservation time came and went with no one checking in on us. After waiting 20 minutes past our reservation, I went to check on our table and was told they were extremely busy and were opening another room. Another party came up to the hostess stand at this time and asked what the purpose of making reservations is and was told they could speak to a manager...not a particularly useful answer and did nothing to diffuse the situation. I decided to hang out at the hostess stand so I could make sure parties coming in after us were not being seated before us. We eventually were shown to a table for 4...again, we were a party of 5. Since I booked this disappointing experience, I took the uncomfortable end-of-the-table seat. It was quite a while before we saw a wait person in our vicinity. We finally saw someone we thought could help and waived this person over. While friendly, we could see she was overworked. I'm not going to bore you with all the details about how long it took to get drinks and food. Nor about how we needed to resort to putting our dirty dishes on a nearby unbused table but will wrap this up by saying that while the service was definitely lacking, the food was pretty good. I probably would have given it a higher rating had there not been multiple service issues. Not sure what was going on that night. No one cared to explain, and I guess that says it all.
Had a large party with customers and we all had a fantastic time. Service was top notch as was the food. I will be back and will recommend it my co-workers and friends.
Dined alone in the bar. Attentive and cordial service. Best prepared steak I’ve had all year! Excellent wine by-the-glass offerings
Great food and superb service. We'll be back again soon!
Francine was one of the best servers ever.
After this last visit, I cannot say that I would recommend Gene and Georgetti in Rosemont to a friend. We've eaten at this location on several occasions and it's always been good, but this visit was quite disappointing. First, we asked for parmesan cheese to go with our minestrone soup, but that was never brought by our waiter. I had rigatoni in a tomato cream sauce which was served hot and was very good. The problem was with the sides that my husband and son ordered. My husband ordered onion rings for the table and they came out cold or at least, not warm. So we sent them back. My son ordered a twice baked potato that was cold on the inside. It seemed as though it had been microwaved because there were spots that were warm and spots that were extremely cold. Again, sent it back.
This dinner for 3 was over $350 with two cocktails and 1 bottle of wine, which I think is quite expensive considering the service was lack luster and portions of our food was cold and needed to be sent back. It will be awhile before we return, and even then, we may not at all.
Outstanding (although too much) food. Service impeccable.
The menu is getting a little old. Need to shake it up a little
Great service, delicious food.
3rd time coming here. It has become one of our Faves when in the Rosemont area.
The food was excellent. Francine, our server, while very busy, was able to give us the attention we needed, and she was most friendly. Sergio, one of the managers, selected a great bottle of wine for us, and the chef, Cristiano, came to the table to make sure all was right. All in all, it was an excellent dining experience.
Greeted at the door by the host and immediately our party was seated. The atmosphere was great. Never rushed and our waitress Francene was outstanding.
With all of the food establishments in the area I did not think the food was that good based on price.
Seen the bartender top off our grey goose martinis with rail vodka when the grey goose bottle was emptied. Ordered a specialty dish and it was not even edible way to salty.
Terrible food
Good food, excellent service. A bit overpriced
amazing food and great service
It was a busy Saturday night so service was just a little slow. But we could see the staff was hustling. Never felt rushed. Food was delicious, nice portions. Great wine list
The calamari and caesar salad were awesome. Then 20 minutes passed and the server started apologizing because the entrees were taking longer than expected. No worries I told him. The food did arrive and the filet my mouth was watering for just didn’t meet my expectations. I know filet can be tricky so I wasn’t upset and didn’t complain. I would still give GandG another try. I just think they had an off night.
Four friends who hadn’t been together in over 40 years were pleased not to be rushed or hassled for taking our sweet time! Our waiter was great and we will be back next year!
Great food
First time diners. Service was excellent. Portions for appropriate in size.
The steaks were just ok. Other steak houses provide better quality for the $$$.
I had a bone in sirloin which was great. My fried had veal which I am told was excellent. So, good choice for dinner.
My wife ordered Chicken Marsala and Chicken Parmesan then came out. Took forever to redo. When it came, my filet was rare and not medium. Had to leave by the time the steak arrived; gave us a desert and never saw a manager or anyone else apologize. waiter was nice enough, but had too many tables at once. Won't be going back.
Love the food and the service is amazing. Shout out to Francine who made our experience even more enjoyable!
I had the distinct pleasure of hosting my cousin and her husband’s first ever trip to the Midwest and Chicago. They currently live in Powell Butte, Oregon but are originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. Actually, I decided upon Gene & Georgetti’s for steaks as I had never been there before and the Rosemont location was more convenient for us than the original River North restaurant. Having visited pretty much all the reputable and popular steakhouses in the city, Gene & Georgetti’s was put on a bucket list. My family and out of town guests were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations and quality of food and service provided on our visit. The steaks and accompanying dishes all were top quality and exactly prepared. A big thank you goes out to our server, Phillip, who was especially professional and personable which added to our enjoyable dining experience at Gene & Georgetti’s. Everything exceeded our expectations. Indeed, very impressive!
