5 Double Cut Lamb Chops
Lamb chops are phenomenal!! Very intimate yet lively. The staff was very attentive and made us feel like family especially after realizing we were celebrating my daughters birthday. Thanks Angelo❤️❤️
This is a classic Italian Steakhouse in every sense. Full of history, authentic, and a proven winner since 1941. Dining establishments come and go, and Gene and Georgetti has sustained a tradition of excellence throughout. Our server was attentive, knowledgeable, and experienced. Our food was very good. Star of the show was the medium rare New York Strip - done to absolute perfection with a marvelously delicious sear. Make this a stop in your Chicago dining.
Hector our waiter was very friendly and really enjoyed dinner was excellent and great portions!
Very good food and cozy atmosphere.
Brunch was fantastic! Skirt steak and eggs are outstanding and always a favorite when we come!
From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed. The host wonderful, the bar staff was extremely attentive and the waiter and wait staff were there for our every want. The food was amazing. This is my second visit to Chicago and my second visit to Gene and Georgetti’s.
Our server Tony made our experience perfect. I can find absolutely no fault with anything. If you get a chance to try the Fall Old Fashion, do it. The veal ragu special was excellent. And the lemon sorbet and old fashion chocolate cake was to die for. Hubby said the veal
parmigiana was perfect. It was a perfect meal in every way.
We were disappointed. Loved going to this resraunt when visiting Chicago. The food isn't the same. Porterhouse was small and overcooked. Great service but unfortunately food was not.
Cab very difficult to get. After about 15 minutes waiting, I went in to ask if they could call and was essentially told it was my problem.
We had a great holiday lunch! The food is outstanding. The wine list has plenty of tasty choices. We enjoyed the shrimp scampi which was a tasty garlicky presentation. We also enjoyed the veal limone with mashed potatoes. Every bite was perfectly cooked and seasoned.
Steaks were great, sent back cold mashed potatoes. For the price, I thought there would at least be some bread on the table.
Best steakhouse in a city full of amazing steakhouses! The history and the ambience are only second to the food. Steaks are out of this world and the pasta … next level!!! Best bacon I’ve ever had. Been our go-to steakhouse in the city for a long time and I’m so glad they reopened after the fire!
great food, classic chicago restaurant -- and great place for business lunch.
Food was great. Steak was perfect. Service was amazing. The meat board anti pasti was meat heavy but the cheese that was on it was really good. I plan on going back.
Not what it used to be. Steaks cooked incorrectly, over cooked pasta dishes, and no cake. The service is always alright but the quality has changed since the pandemic. Have heard this from others and was disappointed to see that it was true. Will not be returning.
It may have been the worst steak I’ve had at a Chicago steakhouse.
Wonderful evening, staff so accommodating and kind
I love this little throwback into a simpler time where friends would gather and wait in anticipation for the deliciousness to come! Quality made drinks, delightful and expertly prepared appetizers and meals, coupled with excellent service! The staff here really care, and they predict your next need and leave you wanting for nothing.
This is how a restaurant should be.
Dinner for 2 couples to celebrate my husband's birthday. Service was great, food was great, ambiance was nice. Good spot if you'd like a "classic" restaurant.
This was my second visit the this establishment. My first was so good I've been fantasizing about my return for several years now. I ordered the 20 oz bone in ribeye and it was a very average steak, not the legendary cut I came for. The staff and the ambience remained lovely. Taking into account the toll the pandemic has had on the service industry I will give it another try next time I’m in town. Just my Humble opinion.
Service was very good and waiter very helpful in guiding us through the menu choices. great selection of drinks and food specials
The food was good but felt rushed as the main course came out before I finished the previous course and was asked if I was done when my plate was barely halfway finished. I had higher expectations at the price point for dinner.
Did not know this was going to be a fixed price menu. Very pricey and the entree was not good. Had to return first plate and the second was not good either!
We were very disappointed that we didn’t know there was a special Thanksgiving day menu and couldn’t order anything from regular menu.
Just the greatest restaurant, been going there for years!
Overall great but my steak was a little undercooked.
Thanksgiving dinner was supurb. Great, attentive waiter. Excellent food and wine. Thank you for a wonderful holiday meal with my daughter. Will be back again soon!
Great service & food!
Spent Thanksgiving here and the food was amazing. Nice selection of entrees. The crabcakes were amazing! Love the casual elegance of this place....always good!
Birthday dinner - such a good time!
Food and service were outstanding. It was especially nice to have dinner at a restaurant where the noise level was very comfortable.
A true classic and ALWAYS great
A great Chicago culinary cornerstone. Superb food and wonderful ambiance.
Wonderful place to go! Everything is first class!
Birthday - great food
This was the most expensive disappointing meal I’ve ever had. The prosciutto and burrata appetizer was delicious but it was all down hill from there. I ordered the 12 oz filet, medium rare, Oscar style. The filet was almost well done on one end and cold dark red rare on the other. I had trouble cutting through it with a steak knife! The “Oscar” was disgusting. It was literally wet canned crab meat mixed with chopped RAW ONION! Who does that??? This was $82 with no sides. The creamed spinach and vesuvio potatoes were mediocre at best. My daughter’s homemade pasta was really good and would’ve been a much better choice for $21. For 4 people who had 2 appetizers, 2 drinks, 3 steaks, 1 pasta, 2 side dishes and 1 gelato, it was $400. In all honesty, I prefer Texas Roadhouse over this place. Ruth’s Chris is 100 times better. I was expecting more from Chicago’s oldest steakhouse that was packed. Definitely do not recommend. Save your money.
1 of 3 steaks was not cooked correctly after two tries. They comped the steak but dinner was ruined for all of us. The waiter did not know how to pour wine and spilled drops all over the table. The waiter also did not apologize for the steak until he gave us the check. We also had to ask for water refills. This place has sure changed in the last 15 years.
My favorite Chicago Steakhouse. Actually my soon to be 15 year old granddaughter requested going & it was everything she/we wanted. Food steak, sea bass & Italian were the normal GREAT.Service was excellent. We live 100 miles outside of Chicago so it needs to be a special occasion & it was. Thanks
