It was a huge disappointment right from the start. Table was set only for 3; had to ask several times to get it up to get the 4th setting- 1st came the menu-placemat. then came a fork. Had to ask for the knife which came 5 min later. Had to ask for the glass & the glass came not matching the rest of the setting!!! (odd glass-- looked across other tables which had all identical ones) That just didn't start the evening well for me at all . I have been there some months back & was so happy with everything that I wanted to bring my OS guests to sample good food in good ambience. The food was very ordinary; the only stood out dish was the garlic pizza bread!! The calamari salad, very ordinary, the mussels dry in the sauce. My spaghetti in olive oil & chilli was so very salty++ & probably a very dumb thing on our part to order seafood paella in the Italian Restaurant!! 'cos it came out looking insipid & mushy!!! We'll not be rushing back, for sure!!!!

I have been to Gemmas on about six occasions and love everything about the restaurant. This time I was celebrating my birthday with family and friends and it was simply outstanding. The food was magnificent, the staff could not have done any more to make it a truly special night for us. Every small request was met with a smile and a quick response. Grazie, Bravo.
