There was a glitch in the kitchen so food came out slow. Our waiter was excellent and kept us apprised vs us having to query him. When food did come, mine was outstanding: squid ink seafood pasta. Restaurant is first class. Definitely want to return

My husband and I shared Summer Salad, Forbidden Rice, Charred Cauliflower, Pappadelle, and Flat Iron Steak. Everything was delicious, I recommend to have your own courses to share. My husband had 4 pieces of delicious complementary scones.

We have gone to Gemma multiple times since they opened and have loved every meal. We go for anniversaries , when people come into town, birthdays, etc. We are moving out of state and our daughter flew in this past weekend and this was the restaurant we all wanted to go to. One last time until we return to visit. Thanks for the delicious food and extra goodies. Their bread is DELICIOUS!!!! We will miss you.

Overall it was a wonderful Saturday date night and I can’t wait to go back!

On this particular night, I ordered the wrong item for me, for my main course. That’s never happened. Salad with chicory was generously portioned and just delicious .

We find clientele at Gemma, interesting and different than most restaurants. We like that.

We had had a long tiring day and were glad to end day at Gemma!

Food was really good. Love the atmosphere. Didn’t care for the Halibut with a marinara sauce (don’t think that works well together) but all else was great.

Food fit for a foodie, presentation exceptional, service well done but not over-the-top and annoying. Really the perfect evening for my business dinner.

Gemma has always been a favorite in Dallas. After moving away three years ago, Gemma still does not disappoint. One of Dallas’ finest. The entire experience was incredible. Better than 99% of restaurants in LA and Orange County, CA.
Do your self a favor, eat here!! You will not be disappointed.

The kitchen got backed up and it took a long time for our food to come out. When it came out it was over condimented and fish overcooked. Our waitress was extremely accommodating and attentive, and so the service offset the slow preparation and food that did not meet our expectations.

Probably our fifth trip to Gemma. Everything about it is excellent.

Fantastic cocktails - some of which rotate on/off the menu. (The only negative being that when you find something you love, there’s a chance it may not be on the menu the next time).

Food is always good. This trip I tried the fried quail and it was superb. One in our group had the black cod and it was also excellent. Deserts were unusual (eg olive oil cake with blood oranges) but satisfying.

Service was friendly and gracious and not at all stuffy.

This is our go to for a really nice dinner. You can spend more money, but you can’t have a better experience.

I have been in Gemma several times. This was the first time the experience wasn't as expected. I know it was late but the service and the food were not as good as always. I had to ask the manager for a water refill after waiting about 10 minutes for the service. The papardelle was not as good as always and the bucatini were not special at all. I am sure it was just a bad day so we will come back for sure.

Gemma never disappoints. The menu is creative and seasonal. The portions are a bit small for the price tag. Everything always tastes wonderful, however. The ambiance is also great for dates, special occasions, impressing out of towners, etc.

Took my wife for her birthday. Let me start by saying this is a great restaurant with a very friendly and professional staff-from the valet service to the wait staff. As it was a birthday, we were comped a fried olive appetizer. I enjoy olives, but these were great! My wife opted for some mussels, onion rings and the red snapper. I tried the Pappardelle (braised rabbit). Both main courses were very good and cooked to perfection. We paired this with Ceasar salads and a great bottle of wine from my favorite appellation-St. Emilion. The Sommelier, Brian, was friendly and knowledgeable. Our waiter, Bobby, was there when needed, but he definitely never hovered over us or made feel like we needed to rush a course. And thanks to Camilo, dishes were orchestrated to arrive just as you finished the previous one.
My wife fell in love with this place. I found it to be a great restaurant with creative, tasty dishes. So, yes We will definitely be back, and back and .....
Oh, and don't forget the desserts-outstanding!
Well done Gemma!

Wife’s birthday and she picked the spot. It HAS been her favorite restaurant since it opened and our experience has always been great. This time was a bit different. We waited a very long time for our entrees, this after the waiter wanted our whole order so the kitchen could time everything. It didn’t work! I think the biggest disappointment would be the complete lack of anything for my wife’s birthday. Most of the higher end restaurants will do something special for dessert for the patrons celebrating at their restaurants.....they gave her nothing but the check. I don’t mind paying for great service but when I do and it is lacking I usually don’t go back.

If you go you MUST order the PAPPARDELLE. It is absolutely divine - my husband ordered it per the waiters recommendation and we were blown away. Drinks were delicious as well, I ordered the Texas Heat and loved the spicy kick to it, but not too overwhelming, just enough. My dish, unfortunately, was a disappointment as I got the Grilled Stripe Bass dish. This was said to be served over "quinoa risotto" and it sounded amazing! What it was served over was quinoa... not a quinoa risotto. There was no creaminess to it, no rich flavors, just quinoa. As if it were steamed in the back and then covered with salt & pepper. The bass was cooked well, but again, it was seasoned with salt & pepper and then they put it over the quinoa and it resulted in about the most boring dish I've ever had at a restaurant. While that was a disappointment, I would say that my husbands dish and the appetizers we had (muscles & burrata) made up for it and we still left happy & would come back.
