On a Wednesday night we were given a nice table. Service was good with wife's allergy handled professionally. Server was knowledgeable and made good recommendation for drinks and wine.
Appetizers and Main Course was good as always. Place is consistent and a pleasure to visit.
Food and service were outstanding. Staff were professional but friendly and gracious. Perfect accommodations for my large party of 9. Will definitely be a return diner.
Consistently delicious food and service
Their fried olives are to die for. I highly recommend them.
Food was great as always. The service was sub par this time. I don’t know if our waitress was new but it took her a long time to get to us to order and check on us.
Loved everything about it!
It was my birthday and the restaurant and employees went out of their way to make it extra special!
Our food tasted delicious, and we enjoyed our server Jeffrey. It was a nicely paced meal. We didn't feel rushed. Highly recommend.
Had been here several times in their first year or so after opening...didn't disappoint then and didn't last Friday nite! We walked in at 7;25 for our 7;30 reservation and were immediately seated, which is really rare for most places these day that are popular. Great waiter; witty and knowledgeable...the scallop carpaccio? Well suffice to say I literraly licked the bowl...Rabbit bolognese, roasted chicken wrapped in chicken skin then deep fried! YUMMERZZZZ!! Now to the wine and the sommelier, Yuri. Again, Yuri was the MAN!! we love southern Italian/Sicilian wines and he steered us to a wine that was aged in terra cotta casks...Can we order a case, Please!!! Goin' back soon!!! You should go NOW!!!! 5 Stars + 5 Stars!! all the way!!
Enjoyed our 33rd anniversary at Gemma. The corner booth was lovely and so was the service. The food was creative and presented beautifully. A couple of dishes were on the salty side but I should say that neither my husband or I salt our food. They gave us two small glasses of bubbly rose which was a nice complimentary touch. Overall, we had a nice evening.
Very good place. Great food and service and it’s the place to go If you wanna have a nice date night, catch up with a friend or discuss business with colleagues over a good meal.
Wine selection is great as well.
Exceptional on every level.
The food was amazing. It wasn’t to loud and I really enjoyed the ambiance. The only negative was we felt rushed. It’s a fairly small
Place and they want turn the tables.
Our food at Gemma was, as always, outstanding. The burrata was solid, the pumpkin "fritters" were a highlight and the cavatelli was packed with flavor. The rainbow trout and pecans and coffee desert held their own against the stars on the menu while the Fizz was good enough to cause me to give up mixed drinks. The only downer was the server, and she was a real downer on the evening. She must have been having a really really bad day because her service would have caused us to have a really bad night had the food not been so delicious.
This place never gets old and its quality never drops. It's been my favorite in Dallas for 3+ years running.
Manager was a little unfriendly- barely a smile much less a greeting. Food portion was minimal and the taste did not justify the price. We had sauteed shrimps, kale salad, sauteed baby octopus, dozen oysters, and apple pie. Definitely better food a night later at another high end restaurant.
Gemma has a nice environment and really good service. However, the dishes my party and I ordered weren’t good at all. I ordered the pork chop, which was tough, and embarrassing to try to cut into - it was so tough that my plate would scoot around when I tried to cut a piece. Two in my party ordered the steak and said it was just ok. Another person in my party ordered the halibut and said it was just ok. The best part of our meal was the beginning, which included an amazing bowl of battered/fried olives, and also a scone type bread with figs-really delicious. I’m sorry to not recommend Gemma, as it was recommended to me as one of the best restaurants in Dallas. My party and I were overall disappointed.
Food is always fantastic and we look forward to what’s new on the menu.
From greeting, service, appetizers, main meal everything was perfect. Our server was on point and made great recommendation. Our food arrived promptly and was very flavorful and well prepared. Would come back in a heartbeat the next time I am in Dallas.
Gemma is “our” place for date night and meeting friends. Menu is a good balance of old favorites and new seasonal offerings.
YES I WOULD RECOMMENDED TO A FRIEND THIS PLACE IS AMAZING AND TASTE SO GOOD
Its always a pleasure to have dinner at Gemma. It never disappoints. Tonights experiences was absolutely fabulous. From the host to the waiter to the manager everyone is so nice and friendly. I always recommend this place to my clients and they all seem to enjoy it just as well. Keep up the amazing work Gemma
I was really excited to go to Gemma! We both had the oysters, a salad and the Halibut and the fig dessert. The food was good just not great- nothing left either of us dying to come back. We were celebrating our 10 yr anniversary so it was very special occasion to us- but it wasn’t even acknowledged. It might have been the ambience that was disappointing- we sat at a very small 2 top table and got to listen to a very loud table next to us (it’s noisy!) Glad we went though.
Loved having SIX baked oysters ! And the warm greeting and cheerful server.
This is the most special little restaurant with the highest quality of food and service and we are regulars there when we are in town. The ingredients are always the freshest and what’s in season. The wait staff is so attentive, kind, and sweet but not overbearing. Gemma will always be our little gem!! Thank you to the whole entire staff of Gemma, front of the house and in the back of the house, y’all are the best and you always make our dining experiences five stars!!
It aint cheap and you can spend $30 on a plate of jazzed up pasta, but the food is very good. It took forever to get our entrees out though. Nice staff--trendy atmosphere.
Really nice ambiance, but the food was amazing. Thank you!
Great farm to table food - fresh and unique.
The service was great and food was excellent. I will definitely return.
Pork chop served pink (as in under cooked, raw). And it was barely room temperature. The serve did do a check back after food came. We had to flag a runner to get help.
Gemma was amazing. Great food and solid service.
The food was really good and the service was pretty solid. However, it would have been nice to have the food described to us since we were first-time guests and were curious about the components. When asked about stand out items that shouldn't be missed, our server pretty much talked about all the dishes with little emphasis on the content of the plates and more 'this is the dish all the reviewers talk about'. Will definitely be back because overall it was an enjoyable experience.
We had a great date night dinner at Gemma! The food was fun and very tasty and the service very attentive. I have a good allergy and they were very proactive about making sure all the food we ordered was safe for me.!
We dined at Gemma on Saturday evening with friends. Food was outstanding, and service good. Wine list probably could more moderate priced wines. Overall, it was a great experience and would return in the near future.
Paul was incredible! Truly made my birthday so special! I’ve been wanting to dine at Gemma for such a long time, and the whole experience blew me away! I can’t wait to come back! Thank you, Paul! Thank you, Gemma!
A charming restaurant with delicious choices. Many menu items have an origin in southern cooking but interesting new touches have been added, reflecting Latin, Spanish and Texas flavors. We enjoyed the burrata with pesto and tomatoes (plenty to share), the pork chop and the flat iron steak. Service was prompt and professional, and the server's wine suggestions were spot on.
The food is okay, not exceptional. The service was okay, not exceptional. It was a decent experience, not exceptional.
The dessert menu was very complex, but not in a bad way. It was difficult to make a decision on dessert because the flavor wasn’t entirely clear from the menu. However, dessert was the best course. I was extremely pleased with both options at our table.
It was my boyfriend’s birthday and they managed to make is so special. A friend of ours called in and bought us drinks before we arrived. Gemma even got him a cute card and service was top notch. We loved the experience and he had a great night! Thanks so much
Cocktails before dinner. Bartender was great. Food was fabulous!
Absolutely wonderful. Loved the food, wine and service.
