We went for a birthday dinner!
Excellent food, excellent service. The sommelier was very helpful with my wine selection. The dining room is a small area very well lit. The noise level is about a three and a half out of five. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.
Food was stellar as always and our server Madison was top notch!
Was truly impressed with Gemma. The attention to details in making sure our night was special and enjoyable. Loved the food and the ambiance. Would highly recommend and would plan to come back again soon!
Gemma treats the Birthday person with special attention such as a birthday card and a special treat of nuts and olives. This made my guest feel honored. The food and the service was very good. I will be back for special occasions.
We were happy to return to this place, but Gemma seems stuck while the rest of the world (and Dallas) have moved on.
All of the food was amazing! I absolutely love this place!!!!
Great service and atmosphere.
I dine at Gemma whenever I am in town. The setting is comfortable and friendly. The staff are friendly and attentive, knowledgeable about the dishes and ready to guide you regarding the dishes. The menu is not huge, but offers something that anybody would enjoy, from vegetarian (roasted cauliflower, for example) to comfort dishes (chicken, pork chops) to exotic (sweetbreads, duck). Their cocktails are superb ('got to try the Alpinist!), and their wine list is great (with guidance from the wait staff and sommelier). A wonderfully satisfying experience, every time!
Gemma is that restaurant that is sophisticated, yet casual, gourmet, yet comfort food and great service with deep knowledge of the inner workings of the menu. I'm not sure I remember an evening where all of theses elements of food and service were so well integrated. Bravo to the the chef, wait staff and sommelier for creating an environment that is so easy to enjoy.
Great service and people. The sommelier was great! Not as quiet as I would like and seating close together. I would return
We shared 5 "small plates", 1 salad and the Wild Boar Ragu, all of which were thoughtfully paired in 3"courses"by our server. The onion rings were outstanding as were the turkey meatballs and the stuffed squash blossoms, not so much their rendition of calamari or the charred cauliflower. The Casarecce was superb. Certainly plan another visit.
This restaurant is perfect for whatever you need it to be. From a date night to a girls night out, this neighborhood gem is one of a kind. Owners are incredible and truly care about each customer's dining experience.
Don't get the pork chop. It's tough and almost inedible.
Food was great. Beer selection is better at Chili's. Tables are way too close together. Remove about 10% of the tables and get some craft and local brews on the menu and it will be toward the top of my list.
I usually give this restaurant 5 stars, but on this occasion it didn’t earn it. The restaurant was very loud at 930p on a Friday, the wait staff was okay, but not up to their normal standards, and the food was a little off. I will come back to try it again, but I hope they can correct some of the issues before then.
Some of the best food I have eaten in Dallas!! We loved it! We will be back!
We dined here for the first time last night to celebrate our anniversary. We could not have chosen a better place to celebrate. The service was spot on, and the food was outstanding. We highly recommend the baked oysters as an appetizer, they are unique and fantastic. Both the quail and red snapper were awesome. After our experience, I would assume that the entire menu is delicious. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.
First time visit - everything was excellent. Definitely get the Baked Oysters (maybe your own order so you don’t have to share). Service, wine, ambiance, people watching, and definitely the food were all worth it. Ordered the pork chop but accidentally served me the quail, and it was totally fine because it was literally the best thing that’s been in my mouth since...ever.
Really good but expected more out of the location and food options. Drinks were well made and food was cooked perfectly. We had the baked oysters, turkey meatballs, Caesar/summer salads and flat iron skirt steak with fries. I would like to come back and try something else!
My Steak Tartare was the best thing I’ve ever had! The olive tapenade really complements the flavor profile :)
This restaurant was fantastic! Both the food menu and wine list are wonderfully curated. We enjoyed a bottle of Joseph Drouhin Rully (Chardonnay).
We are here for Leaky Con. Being a native Californian of 40 years, I would say they deliver on their promise of wine country cuisine. Simple but elegant, and very fresh flavors. The best surprise for me was the cauliflower. I like it fine normally, my family does not. And we were left arguing who got to lick the plate after it was gone. We had shishito peppers prepared classic local Texas style, fresh and simple and flavorful. We also had the halibut and a pork dish, both fitting all previous description. We had a gluten and a tree nut allergy amongst us and they happily accommodated both. Highly recommend.
Snazzy joint with a cool late night dining/reverse happy hour menu. Huge wine list. Food is original and the chef focuses on using non-traditional flavor combinations in unique ways to build depth. Really enjoyed our time there.
Excellent as always thanks for the special night
Excellent dishes, prepared to perfection. Never disappointed!
Excellent food and a nice menu with plenty of choices. One person in the party had the sweetbreads and he said they were the best he ever! We all had different items from the menu and everyone thought highly of the food. The service was pleasant but a little slow.
I was disappointed with the gazpacho's flavor and texture. It was a bowl of watermelon juice with a chunk of a fruit or vegetable in the middle. The duck looked gorgeous but the beans were exceptionally salty and the duck breast was the palest thing that I have ever been told was a duck.
Fabulous food, exceptional service, not rushed, great wine list with recommendations from knowledgeable sommelier. Very enjoyable evening in all aspects. We will definitely be back!
Excellent! Best meal we’ve had in a long time. Watermelon cocktail was the best and fantastic petite oysters. I had the pork chop and it was cooked perfect with a sweet corn purée. The desserts were inventive and tasty with fresh market fruit. Will return soon.
Excellent food with accentuated taste. The duck breast is particularly my favorite.
Thirs time here and excellent as always. Well worth any special occasion.
Had a great meal at Gemma. The options were varied and the chosen dishes lived up to expectations. Service was excellent, attentive but not overbearing.
Overall a standout in Dallas dining experiences.
It was great as usual. I love this restaraunt for it the consistently great food. Try the bar if you cannot get a reservation, same great food.
It's our "go-to" dinner before the Dallas Summer Musical. LOVE Gemma! They always take care of us. Great food; great seasonal menu; great service!
Really enjoyed our 25th Anniversary meal. Amazing service and meal. It is pretty load in there and there was a family with children that were running around a little, but they were finishing up. Amazing wine pairing, and knowledgeable staff. Signature cocktails were also great.
Menu and dishes have improved from my last visit a year ago. Salads, appetizers, and fish were all great. Most unique dish was the fried green olives with pecans. Loved it!!!
One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Can’t wait to go back.
My night at Gemma's was very enjoyable. I loved this small, homey, but professional setting. The food was great but I really enjoyed their delicious cocktails. Very good value for great service, ambiance, and food.
I was really looking forward to this meal, but was greatly disappointed. The much anticipated ‘scones’ which the staff kept telling us were in the oven, came out after we were finished with our meal.. Also, pork chop was cooked medium rare; very deep pink. Almost like pork sushi & not very flavorful, even though highly recommend by server. Cocktails were mediocre & lacked taste and character. The pasta with braised rabbit was the highlight of the meal, and very good. Other than that, meal was unfortunately a let down.
