My absolute favorite restaurant in the city. Amazing food and exceptional service.
We find Gemini to be reliably good. My favorite dish is the swordfish chop.
Gemini was delicious as usual. I highly recommend this restaurant to friends and family.
Always high quality. Only issue that occurs regularly is when table not ready they send you to the bar which is packed and no room and in the way of servers going to kitchen.
limited brunch menu- nothing special, will not return
Great food and service
At the end of the night we looked at our bill. One had ordered a salad with salmon added on top. The server charged us for a king salmon entree meal instead. Also the chicken we ordered was very very undercooked. It was taken back and re cooked. No compensation was offered. The meal ended up being more expensive due to the mistakes of the restaurant and servers. will not be taking family there again unfortunately. Never had issues before.
Great service--friendly and attentive but not too much. Food was delicious!
We waited for our table after making a reservation. We had gotten there early, but then still waited 20 min after our reservation time. They tried to make up for the wait by bringing us out a gift from the kitchen (nachos) but then still added it on our bill at the end. It was fixed, but attention to detail even during a busy service would have made celebrating our mom's birthday a little more enjoyable. They also didn't bring out anything special for a birthday, which I thought was a little odd. We ordered dessert for the table, but didn't do anything specific for the birthday and just put a candle in one of the desserts we ordered.
Super disappointed in the food overall. I’ve heard so many good thing but the steak was pretty bland.
The New Year’s Eve menu was a great sampling of a variety of foods! The atmosphere was festive for the new year and the service was as good as can be with it being a holiday. Highly recommend!
I had never visited this restaurant before and imagined it to be a neighborhood spot serving good food at fair prices. I think that my perception was pretty spot on. We booked fairly last minute for new years eve and planned to then walk over to Zoo Lights at LPZ. It felt a bit like an assembly line and the food came out quickly but often times the wines from the accompanying wine pairings were not at the same pace. My husband enjoyed his beef wellington but I had to work hard to find much meat in the grilled lobster. The wine pours were fair but certainly not generous. I thought it was only okay but my husband enjoyed it more than I did.
The noise level is horrendous.
No coat check or coat room. Just a few hooks by the front door for all of the coats.
We sat in a curved corner small booth and had a great experience at Gemini. We enjoyed rainbow trout nicely prepared with fresh toppings, and the well prepared salmon. Our toddler meal is the best we’ve seen as it was served on a board offering a nice variety of food to keep our little one interested. Our waitress recommended a great Pinot noir.
Food was excellent per usual. That said, we did feel a little rushed. As soon as we sat we were asked what we wanted and as soon as something was taken from a plate the plate was immediately taken away. Overall, solid experience.
The service level was fantastic and the quality of the food was very good. A bit pricey but we definitely were happy we visited Gemini.
Our night at Gemini Bistro was very nice. The appetizers—burrata with prosciutto and melon and beet salads—were both excellent. And the pork shank and swordfish steak mains were both huge and perfectly cooked. The chocolate dessert was a nice way to end the meal. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the ambience was convivial. The menu is diverse with something for every taste. We definitely will return soon.
The food is very good as is the service and compares better than favorably with virtually any restaurant downtown. But so do the prices. Beware that this is very much a neighborhood family place in addition to being a good place to go with friends so you may be stepping over strollers and energetic children.
Great for Zoo lights! Service was exceptional! Food was delicious, but thought it was expensive. $12 for a kids meal is steep. $12 for a soup, yikes! Least expensive glass of wine $14. Likely not be back due to prices.
Fantastic sea bass paired with a perfect rose, attentive & knowledgeable service, great ambiance! Well done! Highly recommend!
Food and service were good.
Had a group of friends - everyone raved about the food.
Also, very gluten free- friendly with a menu that was simple but had something for everyone.
Food was very good as well as service. Good atmosphere generated by a conservative leaning crowd. If you’re into that.
Okay food but overpriced for what it is. We only visit once a year for zoo lights despite living in the neighborhood and going out to eat every weekend. Bait and switch at the valet stand just reinforced my opinion. Sign waking in said $12 valet parking. On the way out, a handwritten sign citing $20 valet had been placed on top of the $12 board. Small dollars but lasting final impression.
Great Christmas date for us!
Gemini has great food, exceptional service and fun neighborhood feel. Their recent renovation has created a cleaner, fresher ambience and their outside seating is a delight in the summer. Reasonable wine list is tiered by price for easy ordering and good selection. The owners and staff are warm, friendly and accommodating. One of the best places to eat in Lincoln Park and all of Chicago, for that matter.
great neighborhood place. cozy, great food and service, fun!
Neighborhood gem. Always reliably good food and service, place is consistently busy which says a lot. Try the happy hour, every week day at the bar, $5 drinks/apps...meet some new people! Highly recommend...
The food was so delicious. We ordered the risotto, burrata, and brussel sprouts to share between there people and there was plenty of food. Granted we weren't starving, so you may need more. The burrata is s must have
It was the first time I was there and it was great
Absolutely never disappoints , the food and staff are exceptional. It is a neighborhood favorite that I never miss visiting when in town - one of Chicago’s best :)
Three of us enjoyed Sunday morning brunch. Our reservation was at 10:30am, so the restaurant was not crowded. Our server was fantastic. Friendly, attentive (perhaps to a fault, as we wanted a bit slower pace), and a good guide through menu options. Bloody mary had great spice and a "realistic" garnish of pork belly and pickled carrot slice, which perfectly complemented the cocktail. Two of us had the lox platter and one had the chilaquiles. The food was very tasty. Overall, a great experience.
Everything was great. But the blond waitress acting like she didn’t want to be there. Did not smile, and was very short with her answers. I would recommend this restaurant to a friend.
Very vibrant scene. Good bar. Moved to table from bar easily. Wait staff seems a little thin. Food was excellent from the Gemini salad to main courses and dessert. I’d go back.
Delicious food, outstanding service, and amazing ambiance.
I had a very nice experience. The atmosphere and service was excellent and the food was delicious!
Always love Gemini!
It was a Tuesday night so it was quite but I’m sure when full the ambiance is a bit louder. Went for a Birthday and everything was amazing. Had the Trout and Branzino both were wonderful
The perfect place to have a nice dinner with friends. Our waiter was attentive, but not intrusive, and we managed to have a wonderful meal and cocktails. I had a veal chop, it was the special, and was prepared excellently. Overall, an excellent place
