What Insiders Are Saying
Gemini Bistro is the kind of place where everyone feels like a regular, whether you actually are or not.
Great brunch! Todd was our excellent waiter. Will certainly come back soon
It is my favorite neighborhood go to in Lincoln Park. Always friendly host/hostesses and wait staff. The food never disappoints. The truffle fries are actually addicting.
We loved the restaurant.. Food was outstanding..and Andrew our waiter was exceptional ... We will definitely be back ...
Table was not ready at time of reservation
The best valentines experience we ever had! Definitely will be back!
Food is fantastic, service is great, atmosphere is not over the top and is comfortable.
One of my all time absolute favorite neighborhood restaurants- great for brunch & dinner. Service always spot on and food delish. Love the chilliquiles for brunch and my daughter adores the waffle.
Great food! Unique dishes and very tasty.
It was simply amazing! Great food.
Surprisingly there were a lot of children there, which was a tab bit annoying. This did not ruin the amazing food and beautiful restaurant.
A favorite! Staff is so friendly and I love the neighborhood vibe!
Food is good, service was not what I would expect at such prices. We felt rushed and for our bill (went for the menu) I would have expected more both from food and their service.
The menu is not great. The food and menu used to be terrific but since the renovation it’s not the same. The only reason we keep coming is because on a week night it is convenient.
Our reservation was late by 15 minutes due to Restaurant week and to make up for it, they gave us an appetizer on the house!
Wonderful cozy atmosphere. Delicious burger! Great drinks! Love the booths. Tried special sea bass and it was terrific. Enjoyed the scallops. Loved the cauliflower.
Went for restaurant week. Large portions, accommodating staff, fun atmosphere and great for brunch.
The restaurant was nice and good value overall. Would go back again
Thank you Megan
Always a great evening at Gemini
While the menu is on the smaller side, everything on it is what I crave - from fish (scallops/swordfish) to meat (steaks/short rib/a burger) to chicken. There's a nice array of appetizers, including Parker House rolls, as well as shrimp, octopus and meatballs, as well as a nice dessert menu. All the comfort food I could ask for!
Food very good. Staff very kind
The burata appetizer was tasty. We enjoyed the little wedge salad and the squash tortellini.
I always love it there and have been going a lot lately. I was a little disappointed int he truffle fries. kinda uncooked and soggy. all in all a great restaurant.
We went for brunch during Restaurant week. The service was very good and the food was delicious.
Great Neighborhood spot
Surprise birthday dinner
The Caesar salad was the best part of our meal. We had a seat by the front door and hostess stand but it wasn’t detracting. Our waitress didn’t mention the specials and we only noticed them on a paper hanging on the wall after we’d ordered and it would have changed our choices. The food was good but not great. I expect great for the price we paid. They kept trying to deliver our food to the wrong table which says something about their service or communication. Overall it was good but with all of the amazing choices in Chicago we likely will choose elsewhere next time
Great place, wonderful food and wine menu, service was fantastic too
One of the best steaks I have ever had. The staff were wonderful and the food was amazing.
The best neighborhood dining spot in Lincoln Park
This place has become a wannabe fine dining spot with some of the worst prices in Chicago. The staff are nice, and the place used to be cool, but the prices have gotten so ridiculous it is embarrassing. The kids menu, for example, is $12- no drink or dessert included! Better restaurants in this same neighborhood charge 50% less for their food and drinks, serve better food, and have much cheaper kids menus.
Had been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time as I often refer people to restaurants and this one is in my area. Food was tasty but portions were smaller than you would typically find in other restaurants, and especially in light of the price point. Service was pleasant but not overly great. As an example, I ordered an iced tea to drink. Typically one gets their glass refilled promptly when you are getting low, but in this case that did not happen. When my server came around I asked for a refill on my iced tea. He then promptly told me that they were now out of iced tea. How does that happen? He then proceeded to offer me a soft drink, not as a replacement refill, but rather as an additional charge for a new drink. All in all, good food, but not a great value.
The ambiance and food are always reliable. It was the last weekend for Zoo Lights, so a 15 minute wait was very reasonable. Our server was not helpful and minimally friendly. She had no suggestions and seemed put out if we had any questions. We ordered the Zoo Lights menu and she didn’t offer us our dessert or drinks to go (very weak watery hot chocolate, expect more from Gemini). Won’t be back soon based on our server, too many other places to enjoy!
Gemini is an amazing place to have fun and also eat good food! Prices are fair according to the foods they have! Everything we order was outstanding! I will definitely go again!
We came with kids for an early dinner. Love the cozy atmosphere and our service was great. The trout was good but they could add a few more fish options. The truffle fries and Brussels sprouts good. The wine pours a little low and the final price of the bill very expensive for dining with our kids.
Great food and wonderful service
Been here many times and it's always top notch. Swordfish chop is outstanding.
Had a lovely New Year's Day brunch. The Eggs Benedict were excellent; Salmon for my husband and bacon for me. Both were excellent. My husband enjoyed his crab cake appetizer and I enjoyed the wedge salad although it was overdressed. Next time will order with dressing on the side. We also enjoyed cocktails with our brunch.
Thank you for being open on New Year's Day and for serving such a lovely brunch.
Favorite place in Chicago!!!
Brunch was delicious. From the lamb meatball appetizer to the Chilaquiles, everything was fantastic. Our server was friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back!
