We made a reservation at 1:15, we arrived at the restaurant at 1:05 and was told by the hostess that the kitchen was running behind by at least an hour. We decided to leave the restaurant and try and find another one. We had the same experience on Mother’s Day but waited it out. I’m no sure if this is a booking problem or not. Out would have been nice to receive a phone call before driving to the restaurant unloading my father-in-law into a wheel chair and then wheeling it into the restaurant and then having to start over!
The chef had quit the night before but they had none of the food on the menu. Anything we wanted to order was unavailable.
After 1 hour, we were still waiting for our food for Sunday brunch and there were a lot of orders in front of us. We left!
Gemelle is a beautiful place to enjoy wonderful food!! We had the pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños, spaghetti limon with salmon, chicken with fettuccine....all were fabulous!!!! The cocktails are so fun and delicious as well! And our server was fantastic!!! 5 stars!!
Only complaint was the music was so loud and kept playing the same song over and over. Just a glitch I am sure.
Not a lot of gluten free options, very slow. Expect to sit there for a while. Great drinks. They ran out of a lot of menu items when we were there.
Super cute place! Love the story behind the name. Amazing food! I would recommend Gemelle to anyone!
Service was AMAZING! We were sitting outside in a covered area but, thanks to a temperature drop, it got cool and they were so sweet to turn the fans off and turn the music down for us. The food was very good, as usual.
Food way overrated, expensive, bland and boring. Gave it t
Great aesthetic. Perfect outdoor dining spot, date night, or sun spot for group of friends
We went for my daughter’s 13th birthday. It was perfect! And our waitress Barbie was a DREAM!!!! So helpful and made sure she explained everything to the girls so they knew exactly what they were getting.
Waitress was very friendly, but inexperienced. She was not particularly well-informed about the food/how it was prepared.
The restaurant was serving maybe 15 people, but we were not given the option of sitting out by the pool/garden.
The three people in our party shared a margarita pizza (good, but slightly greasy), and two had the antipasto salad and one, the arugala salad.
Great pizza. Pasta was dramatically undercooked. Bar was out of too many drinks. Tables are too close to each other outside so waiters rear ends stick out over other tables. Great pricing. Needs better parking / guidance for overflow.
Our waiter was really unprofessional and food took an hour to get to our table.
Gemelle is a beautiful little restaurant. The ambiance is amazing; however the food is mediocre and not worth the price. The service was horrible and took forever for us to receive our food. I’ve been to authentic Italian restaurants and the flavor at Gemelle didn’t match other authentic Italian places. If you’re looking for a good drink and good view, this is your place.
2 out of 3 visits they have been out of the Artichoke appetizer. It took a long time to get out food for lunch.
Unfortunately I think we must have visited on an off night. Took over an hour to get our food. We were celebrating our daughter’s birthday. She picked the restaurant and was a disappointed with her experience. Her pasta was cold when it came out and chicken over cooked. Pizzas was the best dish. Willing to give it another in the future. Our waitress was very nice.
The place was so cute however the service and food did not match the vibe they were trying to give off. Our food came out over an hour later and on top of that my pasta was hard/not cooked all the way. Someone in charge came out and said it’s supposed to be “chewy”… like what. Chewy is chewy but this was hard and unchewable. The mimosas came out in a small water cup and were overpriced for the amount they gave you.
Our waitress was fantastic and the food was too!!! Love this patio and touring the garden.
Great experience reconnecting with an old friend enjoyed the cuisine and outdoor atmosphere!
Gamelle was delish! The restaurant is quaint and chic. We had excellent service. The drinks, appetizers, dishes and desserts were all flavorful and delicious. Go check it out!
Fantastic service combined with an innovative menu selection. Highly recommend this for an occasion.
Stephanie took great care of us - even after we moved inside, where Marty also made a visit a blast. Best visit we've had to Gemelle in a longtime thanks to the outstanding service, food and ambiance.
As much as I wanted to love Gemelle and have been wanting to get dinner there for quite a while now, our experience was unfortunately not at all what I would expect from a Tim Love restaurant. Gemelle seems to be more of an Instagramable spot rather than a restaurant with a great vibe AND great food. Our cocktails were pretty good, but the food was incredibly bland. I asked our waitress for recommendations on which pasta to get, and although the cacio e pepe sounded delicious, it tasted like pasta noodles with maybe a tiny bit of butter. No real flavor to that dish at all. The caesar salad was just okay. Sadly, I don't think we'll be back to Gemelle. I would much rather go to any of Tim Love's other restaurants - especially Woodshed and Lonesome Dove.
Service was slow. Gnocchi was mush and was very unappetizing.
Unfortunately, not a great experience. Mistakes on orders, delays on drinks, and chicken scallopini was bland.
Pizza and pasta was awesome. Ambiance was perfect. I really recommend and will go back again.
Detroit style pizza was amazing! Everything was so fresh and delicious. Beautiful setting on the edge of town. Great patio and Bocce Garden.
Very unique and creative space with very good food. Outside area is very nice.
Cocktails were interesting and good. Service was fine. Food was mediocre at best. Dining partner said her pasta was “nearly as good as Chef Boyardee”. First and last time here.
Great place-their house pizza is one of the best!
This place was absolutely amazing with a very intimate setting. I will definitely be recommending this place and coming back again
Your server was great and was very helpful with it being our first time.
Music was so loud nobody could communicate not even with the server. We had a reservation and the table was not ready even though dining volume was about average with empty tables visible. The food was overpriced for the quality, flavor lacking in most dishes and our original order came out cold after it was “delayed” because of a “large number of orders” but as stated before it was not that busy and given the wait the food had no business being so cold considering we waited additional time for it to be “made fresh”. The business model is clearly cheap tasting/produced food and drinks all at a premium simply for the sake of it being so. The “restaurant” is really an Instagram location with loud music and drinks, but the food was severely disappointing unfortunately.
Loved it as ysyal
The food was absolutely delicious. We so enjoyed sitting outside and listening to the live music. We will definitely be back.
Horrible service, no substitutions allowed on anything.
Gave this place another try, will be my last, which makes me kinda sad since it’s so close to home. I have never been treated so rudely at any establishment in my entire life. I had a reservation, which was placed for standard seating….I DID NOT select outdoor seating, which was an option. When we arrived we were greatly warmly and then directed outside….so a little bit put off going outside vs standard which I would have assumed to be indoor. We were taken to a table that was as good as it was going to get for an August early evening in Texas especially considering the patio is on the west side of the building……HOWEVER, before we could even sit down our hostess was approached and advised we couldn’t have this table as they planned to seat someone else there….umm, ok that’s pretty rude. Then they threw out that it was going to be for some Tim Love guests. They then attempted to move us to a table that was as far to the west as you could be on the patio, which based on sun lowering was about 10 minutes from being broiling in August sun and heat. I expressed my displeasure and asked to either be seated inside, which is where my reservation was for or back to the original table they tried to seat us. Our server tried to get us inside but found they only had 2 tops inside and asked if we wanted to move somewhere else…I said yeah I want the original table. We went over there and they had placed a hand written reserved piece of paper on the table…and here’s where the fun started, whoever the, I assume, Manager was came out and confronted us and stated we couldn’t sit there again throwing Tim Loves name out there. So I went through my entire experience up to this time…and he was rude, ugly and quite combative. I ended up with the table but only because whoever these ‘guests’ were decided they wanted to sit down on the lawn in a cabana. Those guests were also rude and obnoxious and at 1 point were holding up their pasta with their fingers and slurping it. Never again
Food was overpriced for what it was, everything was just average.
Everything was absolutely perfect
