   This review is biased for someone who doesn’t enjoy seafood, which makes most of the menu off-limits for me. For the dishes I did try, such as egg yolk noodles with chicken breast and fillet mignon salad, both were okay at best. The noodle dish felt one note and almost bland. The salad was flavorful, but the meat was practically raw, making it hard to chew the chunks. The place is very pricy, and the atmosphere on the patio with the bright lights (not mood lighting/warm lights) makes it almost unpleasant to dine outside. Our server was curt and not welcoming. Overall probably would not come back!

   I had a wonderful dining experience at this fine restaurant in Fountain Valley. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. I highly recommend this place for a nice dining experience.

    First time here and went with a friend to celebrate her birthday. The staff were very kind and were on top with their services! The food came out in less than 10 minutes and each dish was amazing! I would recommend coming here and I’ll for sure be back!

    Great food, cute hip place. Service was a bit slow, especially getting our cocktails out. Manager came out to give us an update which was very professional. Very clangy inside. I suggest putting up some economical noise buffers-softeners

    Food is great. We bring our visiting family, friends, and clients here because we’re sure anything they order will be delicious. Our usual orders are the soft-shelled crab, salted egg yolk pasta, risotto, laksa pasta, and tomahawk steak.

    GEM has lost its luster (pun not intended). The food was good, but nowhere close to as good as it used to be. The plating and taste weren’t as nice as it should have been. Our soft shell crab was soggy. And the malaysian beef filet salad lacked flavor. The main issue was the delay in seating is (not a big issue on its own, I understand you need tables to turnover) but then they rushed us through dinner. It’s not about the money or cost - but they could have made it up by offering us tea or a dessert to go. I would have preferred if they just told us that their last seating is at 8:30pm (and didn’t take my 9pm ressie). I’ll give it another try, but I definitely won’t bring someone special here in the future.

    First time dining at GEM Dining and I had a blast! I was seated at the bar--very atmospheric where you get to observe the bartenders making drink while enjoying the amazing "bougie" food-- but it's fine dining afterall! The Beef Carpaccio appetizer is to die for. I love the creativity that goes into the dish. I do think the Salted Egg Yolk Pasta could have been more "salted egg yolk" flavor as it was on the mild side. I enjoyed the bites of every dishes overall and definitely will come back again.

    I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. From the moment we checked in with the hostess it was a very pleasant experience, she and the the gentlemen opened the doors for us and the hostesses took us to our table where we Immediately we were served water. We started with the bone marrow elote which was amazing! And the pork belly lettuce wraps were delicious, ; so much flavor in these 3 small wraps, the bread and butter is also very good, the butter a little spicy for my taste buds. Then came the main coarse, the scallops with crispy noodles and the egg noodles with chicken, both were great, the flavors were out of this world, very well served. We got to meet the chef gave him out highest compliments later came Debbie with a salmón crudo, it had slices of orange, mentioned it was compliment of the chef, wow! The flavor in this plate was super tasty and fresh. For dessert we had the sticky date bun, don’t worry you can’t tell there are dates in this tasty sweet concoction, the presentation is beautiful. Delicious overall, and such an amazing service, you don’t see this kind of service any more. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

    The food and services are great overall. The server is knowledgeable about the menu. Explained it very well since it's our first time there. I wish they brought the food to us several dishes at a time. The food were brought out one dish at a time with a bit long intervals. We ended up finishing one dish before the other one showed up. Not really a big deal. We still enjoyed the food.

    Wow!!! Had no idea what to expect. What a hidden Gem The feel and the ambience just walking in made you want to be there. Our server, Luke, was incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and passionate about what he was doing Quirky, fun drinks Appetizers and mains were very unique and super tasty And the desserts were a surprise Chef was at our table to check on us 4 times We’ll be back

    First time dining here and definitely not the last. I wasn’t expecting this type of restaurant in Fountain Valley. First off the customer service by far is excellent! Hard to find that type of service now a days. All the staff were friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very good. The food is exceptionally flavorful as well. The portion size is just right because of the impact of the all the flavors in the food. The only reason why I didn’t give a 5 star is because the food temperature wasn’t as hot as I liked it to be but that’s be very picky on my part. I don’t give 5 stars easily unless a near perfect dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion from just having a family dinner or date night. I look forward to coming here again in the near future and trying other dishes.
