Reasonably priced located on the streets of Little Italy and a great selection to choose from. The cheese and meat platter before the meal was to die for! Very comfortable for the family or friends that brought me back to the day of making meatballs and homemade sauce on Sunday with my grandmother as a kid in NYC.

Great atmosphere for little Italy... It's not as touristy as all of the other restaurants look. Amazing food and drinks

Location is great in Little Italy. Outdoor and Indoor seating. Restaurant is contemporary. Those are the good points. Service was terrible. We did get seated right away and brought water quickly. Then it fell apart. Ordered drinks which took a while to get. Never offered bread. Never checked on us during the meal. After waiting a while after finishing our meal, offered dessert. Quickly rattled off three options. We said we needed a minute and he never came back to take our order. So we decided to just go. Again, took forever to get his attention and get our check. Menu has limited options and best for lunch for folks wanting a pizza or pasta and a glass of wine, if you can tolerate the poor service. All in all, there are so many better places to eat in New York city.

Gelso&Grand adds a spark to the staid bastions in Little Italy - which - mind you - we love - but this adds some spark - although it's a little tough to talk with the music blaring - and when your waiting keeps walking back and forth and back and forth - but clearly has nothing to bring you or ask you - you start to wonder what he's doing - the bussers were great and helped to close the gap - the waiter told us about 20 minutes ahead that our entrees were on their way - either he didn't know what he was talking about or the kitchen goofed - then he finally realized there were no entrees and said he would check on them - and voila they were on their way - already - no - it was a quiet evening - it wasn't crazy busy - he was just bad. the food on the other hand was great - worth going back to try other dishes

The gnocchi was the best I've ever had. Also, the portion for that dish was much more reasonable than the others we tried. Food was fabulous. The cocktails were too but they took 20 minutes each time we ordered one. The server was very sweet but also very new. Hopefully they work out the kinks. Will be back!

Out of all the things we ordered we enjoyed the prosciutto pizza the most. Everything else was just okay.
