To start we offer a Swiss Gruyere cheese fondue, served with fresh breads, fruits and vegetables for dipping. Our crisp house salad, dressed with tangy Dijon vinaigrette, offers a counterpoint to the rich, warm cheese fondue appetizer.
Next, you’ll cook your choices of Australian lobster tail, Gulf shrimp, beef tenderloin, fresh sea scallops or boneless chicken breast in a pot of sizzling soybean oil or broth. The main course is served with fresh vegetables and eight gourmet dipping sauces.
Our famous chocolate fondue is flamed table-side, and presented with marshmallows for roasting and other delectable dippers.
Wonderful service, food and atmosphere. Everything was excellent!
The last couple of times I have dined here the place is more then 1/2 empty and they try to put me in a table that is flat awful, almost like the table used for a last resort because you didn't have a reservation and there's nothing else. I have to work to get moved to something a little better. I don't get it? But it used to be one of my favorite restaurants and it's slowly becoming one I might not go back to.
We had a decent experience here. Although we were seated in a weird area, and our lobster was in small torn pieces which we found strange instead of one chunk. We also did not have the most attentive server.
Perfect server. Perfect food. Perfect atmosphere .
The service was great. The food was so-so. The bread was stale and the dessert was hard as a rock. But the meat for the main course was good. The location itself was great.
It was a nice evening. We were early but they set up our table. Our server and assistant were knowledgeable and attentive. It took awhile for food to come out, but i think it's because they want you to enjoy the ambiance. They also took special care in separating my order, as my friend has a shellfish allergy. It is quite expensive for what you get though. The value all seems to lie in the ambiance. Be prepared to spend your budgeted month for date night!
Great time! Would come again
The food was delicious, and it’s a fun interactive experience with your food. We will definitely be back!
Very nice place and of course romantic environment...
Geja's is a wonderful place to go to for a romantic date. The experience and environment are very unique. However, it is quite expensive. I would recommend going on a weekday with a groupon if you are on a budget.
It's expensive, but so worth it. A very romantic place for an anniversary or a special date night!
Literally one of the most romantic restaurants you can go to. There is literally a live Spanish classical guitarist playing music that makes you feel like you and your date are so special.
I have never been more disappointed in a dining experience ever. Service was barely there, food quality was
poor. The oil they had us use was days old. Honestly can’t
believe they are allowed to stay open. Just a terrible waste of time and a lot of money.
Hi Kerry Ann, Thank you for dining with us and for your review. We are sorry we didn't live up to your expectations. We strive to be the best and in your eyes we fell short. We pride ourselves on quality ingredients, attentive service and a atmosphere that can not be found in Chicago. If you would like to talk about your experience more, please feel free to give me a call and I would be happy to discuss things further. I can be reached at 773-281-9101.
Amazing place! Great to have a Groupon too to help with the bill! But the food was amazing!
Enjoy it every time 😁😁
Excellent as always. Out go-to spot for showing friends a great meal experience
Geja's Cafe is one of the best spots in Lincoln Park! The food is delicious and matched with outstanding service. I would highly recommend.
Awesome place! I love it! Great service and food !
Place was great as usual. Food and service were perfect
They don’t make restaurants like this anymore. The kind we
Here you can get lost trying to get back to your table but in a charming way and with loads of ambiance. Drink some wine and have some great fondue with amazing service!
As usual, pricy with quite a romantic atmosphere. The wine selection is very good. What I dislike that when coming earlier (let them know in advance) we had to wait in the bar for about 40 min until seated. They said all table were reserved at the moment. However, there were more than half tables unoccupied. Considering the price, one shouldn’t expect such a long wait.
It was a great experience, the staff was very friendly. I just noticed other takes were getting moved through their meal faster than we were, meaning we waited quite a bit to move from appetizer, dinner, dessert . Other than that it was great, and fun. I used a Groupon which made it affordable :)
Amazing food, service, and ambiance
We have been going to Geja's for years. The cheese and chocolate fondues are the standouts, but the meat/seafood platters are accompanied by the most delicious sauces! There's a nice wine list, the atmosphere is very comfortable and romantic, and the service is always first rate. It's an expensive meal but totally worth it; great for an anniversary or special occasion!
Amazing! Wish I could give a million stars! Food is fresh, ambience is perfect, dim lighting and smooth guitar, excellent staff.
The food was great, service was fast and friendly, and you can't beat the ambiance. I'd highly recommend, especially for a romantic date night or place to celebrate a special occasion.
Great atmosphere and ambience. We had a very good time. Would recommend it, especially for a date night or a special celebration..
We went for our anniversary and had a great night!
It was very romantic and the food was great. Very fun experience overall! The only drawback is that seating is tight
It was pretty good. I didn’t appreciate the tastes of alcohol in the foods. Too much wine in the cheese and too much liquor in the chocolate. other than that, it was great.
Amazing food and wonderful service!
Very romantic !! A little pricey
Not good... cheese fondue tasted like heated kraft cheese in powder. Bread was pure rubber. Just came back from Paris where a fondue in a hole in the wall was a gazillion times better and a meal was 50 a piece... not 230 for two.
Nice ambiance and service but not worth it.
Sorry, don’t mean to write poor reviews, but i was asked......
My last few times that I’ve been have not been the way it used to be. The only thing that’s been consistent is the cheese, bread basket and salad. The main course has been lacking on the veggies they give and amount of meat. Dessert used to come with complementary coffee and now they charge you $3 for a tiny cup. The service has also been lacking. We were never offered refills on our drinks we had to ask for drinks and water refills. The one person who was on top of service wasn’t our waiter but one of the helpers. He did notice when water needed refilling and was there for us to ask for refills. I will most likely still go but am more likely to find a new girls night dinner spot.
Excellent service and great food. I'll definitely keep this on my list of musts when I'm back in the city.
Being a fondue restaurant, you can effect to leave smelling like your dinner. The service was great, but a bit too many filters on the main dish. About half an onion and a full bell pepper. The rest was great.
Other than both of us getting splattered and stung by the boiling oil, it was a great experience. Never had that happen in past visits, and sadly it was a while before the waiter showed up to fix it.
Way over priced. No cooks, little flavor. Little space on table and around.
Amazing as always, thanks again!! Great food and service for a special occasion.
