We had to wait over forty five minutes for a table when we had a reservation. After waiting that amount of time manager said she would take care of a portion of bill which came to sparkling water and some drinks. We were also notified after waiting that amount of time a member of our party was not dressed according to dress code. Maybe should have informed us upon arrival instead of waiting that amount of time and then making that person feel inferior. Manager had an attitude we didn’t appreciate and never came to see if we were satisfied after our long wait and a promise to make things right. Food was ok but maybe had to do with awful experience. Not sure we will be back
It was a lovely experience! I just wish the portions of meats were a little bigger and the desert fountain a little smaller
Had a FANTASTIC time and experience celebrating my mom’s birthday night at Geja’s! Our server, Arturo, was an excellent guide through our fondu journey and worked diligently with the rest of the staff to ensure we were extremely well-taken care of! I would highly recommend for any special occasion or date night!!
It is nice and romantic, but....if you have a reservation at opening time, do not get there even five minutes early. We went on a hot day, and waited until 4:45. The door was open, and when we went in, the hostess told us they were not open yet and we could not wait inside. So we waited outside, in the heat. It was 5:00, and she never came out and told us we could come in. A few minutes later, another couple came and went in, so then we went in. The hostess acted like we had just come in, so she must have forgotten in that short amount of time that we were out there. The same thing will happen on the coldest days of winter, as it did with us. The only consolation then is that they have the fireplace outside which helps a bit. Also, most of the vegetables are cut in big pieces, so you still have to cut things, even some of the steak. Since you fry your food at the table, be prepared to smell of cooking oil for awhile after you leave, but it's not as bad as when you stand over a deep-fryer at home. Would not recommend going there and paying $60 apiece--the full price. Sign up for their e-mails and go when you can get a coupon or some special. Also, if you read the fine print near the bottom of one of those deals, it will tell you that you should tip on the pre-discount amount. Yes, there are people who don't do that, but it is still tacky for a fine dining establishment to tell you that. Overall, for a good dinner for a special occasion, it is still better to go to a fine full-service restaurant. Geja's is a nice experience, but not a place you want to go to on a regular basis.
An awesome way to celebrate our anniversary! Geja's never disappoints. A special thanks to Horacio and Alejandro for making things extra special.
I love Geja’s such a wonderful and joyful experience!
I came to Geja’s for the guitar, I changed my reservation to Wednesday to listen to flamingo. I was told he would be playing, they said there was an emergency and no guitar player. I was assured when I made the reservation someone would be playing the guitar. We had choc fondue per person for $18! It was nearly acceptable.
Went here to celebrate my anniversary it a exceptional experience.
Pleasant atmosphere . We enjoyed the fondue .
I’ve been here 3 times now and each time there is always something OFF about the cheese fondue. It tastes cheap and has a bad aftertaste... kept wondering if it was Kraft lol. It’s never my favorite part of the meal. Other than that, everything was great. They brought me a piece of cake for my birthday which was sweet.
I have been wanting to try it for a long time and so glad we did! It was a wonderful experience and we will come again.
My favourite restaurant. I love it so much that I travel from Canada to have dinner.
This is an amazing place. We loved dining here years ago when it was just the two of us. This time, we were able to share the experience with our 18-year-old son. He was ... gobsmacked. We all had a fantastic time. Our server was polite and gracious without being snobbish. To watch our son's face as we introduced him to each course was priceless. AND the selection and quality of options was top tier. What a treat to have been able to visit and find it to be as magical today as our memories told us it was.
I would recommend Gejas to anyone looking for a romantic place to dine. Great service and food.
This was a great experience would do it again
Everyone was just great from the valet to the servers. The only thing - unisex bathrooms? Oh yes, I was like a maze to get to bathroom - I was tempted to call Uber. Lol
We loved our night celebrating a birthday at Geja’s. It was our first time and Shannon was the perfect fondue Sherpa, even going so far as to help guide me to a wonderfully Sancerre at a great price. We are already planning our next trip!
Really great dinner for my wife's birthday! I was very pleased how the evening went.
As for about 25 years, this time was also very special for our anniversary.
We really enjoyed ourselves. The service was fantastic as well as the food being great. The valet was especially helpful since a storm had come through while we were eating.
Awesome experience...so very glad to be there again!
This was my first time at Geja's Cafe. It was wonderful! The service was great, our server took time to explain how everything worked, made suggestions based on our questions. The food was delicious and we are definitely going again!
Helped make my girlfriends 25th birthday a wonderful experience. Can't thank them enough!
Great romantic place to eat with your special someone. Very dark and ambient place that really makes you give attention to your significant other. You cook your own food in a pot provided for you and it is extremely good. The desert at the end is the best part with chocolate fondue and roasting of marshmallows.
The staff was so nice, helpful and kind. Went above and beyond to make sure our experience was great.
Really nice atmosphere but way overpriced for fondue
The atmosphere was exactly what we were going for, really nice ambience and very romantic. The service was absolutely amazing. They were very catering and readily available at all times. They never even allowed out water glass to get anywhere near half empty the entire time we were there. Awesome service! I’ll definitely go there again the next time I’m in Chicago!
Always a great food experience! Been coming for many years! Hey
It was a lovely experience. Food was great and the service was top notch.
Cheese fondue was so-so. Fondue platter was good. Chocolate fondue was GREAT! Their specialty cocktails were completely boring and flavorless, not to mention a distinct lack of alcohol. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The restaurant was louder than I expected. It’s touted as being the most romantic restaurant in Chicago. I disagree. We might return, but probably only for the chocolate fondue.
Great food, fun time! Took my daughter for her birthday! Fun experience
Adam is THE BEST MANAGER I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. He made our night the most memorable, with his professionalism. He's a man of his word, which is rare now a days. Thanks again Adam
This place was amazing! My boyfriend and I came here for a date night and we fell in love! The food was amazing and we loved the quiet, romantic atmosphere. The service was good. The cheese fondue app was a great starter! It’s made with wine which gives it a great taste. The entree was delicious and filling! It was very easy to cook and the 8 dipping sauces all were delicious. The chocolate fondue dessert was my favorite! I would go back just for dessert. ♥️👍🏼
The value of the Groupon was awesome. The service was great and the experience as well.
It was wonderful!
Had a great time and the service was superb
This was a great restaurant to take an out of town friend too! The ambiance inside is beautiful. The cheese fondue was phenomenal. The salad was delicious. I would have liked options for cooking the proteins that wasn’t just deep frying them. With that, my only other complaint is that the lighting is so low that it can be hard to tell if you fully cooked the protein. We usually needed longer than the time they recommended or things were still raw in the middle. Lastly, the chocolate was delicious. I highly recommend taking them up on the coffee service and getting whipped cream. The combo of whipped cream with the chocolate fondue was so delicious! I also really liked roasting our marshmallows. We had a great waiter who was really funny. Excellent service.
Very fun fondue spot with really fresh ingredients. Be prepared to eat if you get a dinner that includes the desert!
You pay for the experience. Little expensive for what they serve.
LOVED Geja’s! Super dim, romantic, cozy vibe with very professional and well-versed service. Yummy food too! Will be returning for our next occasion!
