Food was great. Wine is very expensive
Very cool venue and exceptional service.
Having to fight off flies was pretty disgusting. I wouldn’t return for that reason alone. The salmon was good. Scallops were bland as was the fried green tomato app. The building is pretty. Invest in some well placed fly traps to make a visit tolerable. Far too much money for this experience.
Food was pretty good. Great drinks and the ambiance is great. I think we just got stuck with a not-that-great waiter. Husband waited 20 min for a beer. I’d like to give it another chance for dinner.
Love this place. The food is wonderful as are the drinks. You can't go wrong with this place.
Definitely a must when you are in Nashville! Everything from the food to the service was fantastic.
If you want to get all dressed up, fine dine and enjoy a good specialty cocktail, then this is your place. Geist not only is historically beautiful, but the bold additional touches make it such a fun setting to enjoy a dinner night out. The food is delicious and so are the drinks! Geist also has an awesome brunch!
Appetizers were nicely sized ( big to be precise ). Fried Green Tomatoes with Shrimp and fish roe were outstanding.
Awesome service! Great ambiance but the noise level was fairly high for brunch! The cocktails were amazing, but food was only so-so. Try the Negroni and avoid the cinnamon roll!
Appetizers and drinks were spot on, but the entrees were a little off considering the price. Great service all around.
Food was amazing. Halibut with risotto was awesome
Was pretty underwhelmed by the food quality given the price. Also took a very long time for the food to come out.
A wonderful time, wonderful food, wonderful waiter.
Love the ambiance of Geist, but for cost of dinner (under $400 for 6 people) there is an expectation of a certain level of service. It’s not that the service was bad, but just not what you expect for the cost, if that makes sense. The timing of food, check, check ins, etc could be faster. Checks could be split for guest ease. They were great at accommodating very common dietary restrictions. I do miss some of their older menu items though. It’s worth another visit to determine if this is a one off or the new Geist.
Geist has been our favorite restaurant in Nashville since it opened. The menu is creative but approachable and the execution is consistently stellar. The service is always friendly and outstanding, and the setting is eclectic and relaxed -- well suited to both an intimate dinner for two or a talkative group meal.
It was all great! food, service atmosphere. Will be back soon.
We had visited Geist 2 days before the tornado hit it in 2020 and wanted to go back while we were in Nashville to give our support and celebrate their reopening. They really didn’t miss a beat, still a great restaurant with fun, creative food.
Great place for Brunch on a Sunday. Biscuits and Gravy probably the best we've ever had and being from the South that says a lot. Party of 6 and we did small plates and shared as well as 3 of the large plates. Cinnamon Roll was enough for 6 people to all get a good healthy slice and was moist. Not a big shrimp and grits fan but this may have changed me as these were also very good. We sat in the bar and it was busy and a little noisy but there were other options that were probably not as loud. We could still have conversations without yelling at each other so noise level was moderate.
This place just isn’t the same as it was before the tornado unfortunately. We won’t come back. Service was good, the food was not unfortunately. I’m not sure what has changed to cause this place to go downhill so drastically.
Great birthday dinner!
Went here for a romantic date, made reservations. We were sat outside on a 100 degree day without fans or air conditioning. When asked to move they were nice enough to move us but sat us in the bar area. It was overwhelming loud as you might expect a bar to be. For reservations I would expect they give you a top tiered spot. We were timely. Place was very lively / busy . This may be due to ongoing baseball game right next door. Food does not come with sides, and menu is limited , but good. We might be back but with very different expectations
Great service, good food, pretty noisy inside. Somewhat limited menu, but not sure how often the items rotate. Very fresh and unique vegetable options
Excellent service, highly recommend the fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits
My lady enjoyed it. Eclectic vibe. Some what diverse clientele, they influence diversity with good music. Keep it up Geist! Ill be back hopefully to make it my regular spot.
Great service and delicious food in an unique building. Very cute!
Food and service were very good. It was a hot night, we had a reservation and we were seated on the patio and it was quite warm.
Loved everything about this adorable restaurant. Already planning my next visit. There is no wrong decision on what to get but I personally could eat my weight in the shishito peppers. The Halibut and Spaghetti were also amazing. Would definitely recommend and request Ellen for exceptional service!!!!
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding.
Great food options and drinks. Service was great, Ahmad was very nice.
Loved this place! Food was great and the restaurant is beautifully decorated. Service was excellent as well. Will go back again when in town.
It was great overall, I would recommend this restaurant to all. Outdoor garden seating is perfect.
I have been multiple times and have never been disappointed by the food, drinks or deicide. I highly recommend this place.
Everything was delicious and the ambiance is gorgeous!
Thank you, Mike, for outstanding service! We started with the “coffee and donuts” pictured here. They were outstanding. The drinks, Pink 75, were delicious. I ordered the small plate “biscuits and gravy” that was large enough to share. We sat outside and the street noise was a little loud, but overall we really enjoyed our experience and will definitely be coming back
Great place and location. Really liked the unique menu items. Staff was very knowledgeable about all items on the menu. Recommend the cheese plate, excellent. Our server became distracted by a large party that came in after we had ordered. Other than that great experience.
Everything about Geist was amazing. Food, service and ambiance.
Excellent service. Whipped feta dish was spectacular, and the grilled salmon entree. Their new patio is gorgeous.
It was great -- service and food were amazing. Would come back again!
The food was excellent! We were there after a small wedding ceremony at the Belmont Mansion. My daughter was married. Kaitlyn was our server and was not friendly at all. We had a party of six and the tip was included and it was obvious she could care less about us!
Geist had a cool and welcoming vibe with great tunes on the sound system. The fresh bread with citrus butter was warm and delicious! So worth the calories! The fresh greens salad with buttermilk dressing was delicious and large enough to share. We enjoyed the salmon and filet entrees. Nicely done!
