We are out of town and read the reviews and the food was wonderful. Nice staff and if we are ever in Nashville again we will return
Beet salad was amazing
Fantastic cocktails!!! Service from David was impeccable!!! We were not very hungry, so we split the steak tartare and the Schnitzel, and it was plenty!!!
Food was great and loved the atmosphere however it took a half hour to get seated even with our open table reservation and service was slow
It was a crazy night where an amazingly strong rain wind and lightening storm came in right before our reservation. Although we had to wait at the bar for our table, because the outside tables had to be all re-distributed inside, the bar staff was fun and made our time there feel more like a party then an inconvenience . When we got our table it was a really cool Aqua colored velvet booth back table and our waiter was so fun, can't remember his name because we were teasing him that he looked like different famous people (but he was from South Africa). We had a blast, the food was great. Our two young ladies in our party who had birthdays that night, felt really spoiled and couldn't have enjoyed themselves more.
Understanding that restaurants are short-staffed due to covid, and a sudden thunderstorm necessitated the need to shuffle tables around, I have to say that our experience at Geist was very poor.
It took them a long time to seat our party, and the server immediately greeted us with an attitude when asked to turn off the fan blowing our hair in our mouths.
He continued this unpleasantness when the vegan in our group asked questions about the menu,
Or when we asked for an extra wine glass.
“I can’t teleport over there” he said - I wish we would have teleported out of that restaurant.
In other restaurants when there has been an issue, a manager would come over to check in.
Never happened here.
All in all, a bad experience.
Loved sitting outside - Brussel sprouts, fries, and the drinks were my fav!
Fantastic food. Halibut was incredible, though the microgreen garnish was tough and bitter, had to take them off.
Great spot, cool building with a great story behind it.
Celebration for birthday.
food was delicious and different than everyday breakfast items!!
Our waitress was not good at all. She told us they were out of the bread - and then she took bread to the table who came after us. Our food took 1 hour & 45 minutes & it ended up not even tasting good. This is the first time I experienced anything like this in Nashville
The food is the highest quality & the chefs are some of the best in the world! The halibut is so fire
Amazing atmosphere great way to celebrate our Bachelorette!
Great restaurant with excellent service… food presentation was awesome.. highly recommend
This was my first time eating here even though I am a Nashville local. My girlfriends and I went there for my birthday. Everything we had to eat was delicious! The fried green tomatoes were surprisingly one of my favorite things. My friends had the spaghetti and loved it. I had a filet. It was excellent as well. The bread is a must have! I highly recommend.
Filet was fabulous but just a hair undercooked. Ladies enjoued the fish. One gent had the chicken and also enjoyed, but he was thinking it would be an item previously served, not the flattened.
Just wanted to share.
Everything about this restaurant was fabulous. From the moment we walked in we were treated so special. Your lively hostess, your rockstar female bartender and your amazing server Joelle. Thank you all for a wonderful a d delicious evening!
The atmosphere is inviting. The food was delicious. The staff were attentive. The pace of food service was a little off. The first course arrived before we finished out cocktails, and the second course arrived before we finished our first course.
The hostess was not pleasant but our waitress was fantastic and very sweet. The food was good and sitting in the patio was
The inside ambiance was very lovely and the food was delicious. Their menu was very well tailored to the Germantown area as a whole.
Nice anniversary dinner
Really cool place. Food and wine were amazing and wait staff very attentive.
The food is tasty but the service is always lacking. Once they forgot my food. Very pretty and the drinks are good. Guess there’s a reason we can always get a reservation there I suppose.
I would absolutely return and recommend to everyone! Our serving host Eric was exceptional! Thank you for a fantastic dining experience.
Great service and wonderful food! We’ll be back!
We ended up having to sit outside despite the reservation. Geist is a nice place so you'd expect the outdoor area to be pleasant, but it was NOT. I've never sweated so much at dinner. When you're paying that much, you'd like it to be pleasant and this was absolutely in no way pleasant. And probably because of that, service wasn't as good as I'd expect either and when you're sweating like that, you really gotta replenish those fluids! The food was good, drinks were good, but I couldn't appreciate any of it because it was miserable and you never want to be miserable when eating a $40 entree. Just not worth it.
Food was excellent. Service very slow but waitstaff all very friendly.
Service and food were amazing! They also allow you to do a champagne saber, which we did as we were there for a Bachelorette celebration, which was so fun and festive for the occasion! Outside courtyard where we sat is gorgeous, the inside was also beautiful as well! Made for a special dinner while visiting Nashville!
Burger was great, Bloody Mary drink Not so great.
Good Morning drink on point. Now reservation was at 11:30 we didn't get seated till 11:52 . Then sat for another 10 mins till a waiter brought us water . We know there was folks there but we had a reservation.Besides that food was good.
We went for brunch, had reservations. We still waited 20 minutes for our table. The food was great, drinks were great, I do think it was overpriced for what it was but I would go back.
We would try again, did love the ambiance and menu options. Our server was just not the best so I think that could have tainted our experience more than warranted.
Ask for Lindsay at the bar, she’s great
We had a fantastic time. My filet was over cooked just a touch. The wife’s halibut was a ten out of ten.
Geist is vibey and attractive, the people are good at their jobs, and the food is adequate and overpriced, given its quality. Don't get me wrong, the ingredients are good, the presentation is what you would expect for the price point, but the flavor isn't what it could be. My wife and I had an entrée each, with bread and a beet salad (the beet salad was the only truly delicious item we had all night - it is really great), plus dessert and two drinks apiece. Bill with 20% tip was $220ish. Not outrageous, but there are many restaurants in town where the food is outstanding at that price.
Geist seems like a great place for drinks, and maybe their brunch is better. I would go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so.
Restaurant was very overpriced for the experience.
The starter was very nice, possibly very good. Main dishes were just ok - nothing special. For $30 per entree I was expecting more attention to detail and something more than average to slight above average food.
My biggest gripe as the pretty amateur level of service. For the price point I would expect far superior service.
The wait staff was very pleasant but sorely in need of training.
You must have the cinnamon roll, heavenly! Eggs Benedict was made to perfection.
Excellent brunch choice.
Bring your own yellow mustard
We loved it! Our server Michael was great and the drinks were amazing!
