We were visiting IU and wanted a good, non-college bar meal. It was a great find. The food and service was excellent. Will definitely be back.
Great food and ambiance! We had a really nice experience on our first visit.
We made our reservation 6 hours before arriving for dinner on Valentine's Day, yet when we arrived they had no record of us having reserved a table. A waitress at the front said that the reservation list was printed more than 6 hours prior, which is why they had no record of it. So we had to wait for a table as though we had not made a reservation. After we were seated it took almost 15 minutes for us to be greeted by our server and offered drinks, and I was beginning to get a little irritable considering the amount of money we were going to be paying for the dinner. I asked my girlfriend at one point if she just wanted to leave and go somewhere else. Two of the waitresses were incredibly loud and were shouting across the dining room to their tables. One table across from us had their order lost entirely and their meal was given to them for free. This would be fine, but the rest of us had to pay full price and the whole experience just seemed pretty sketchy. The food was fantastic and my highest compliments go to the chef. However, due to the unprofessional nature of the host(s) and servers, I don't anticipate we'll be returning to this restaurant. We had a lot of options for places to go on Valentine's Day, and this was a pretty expensive headache. Great food, though.
We had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner at Gaza! The prepared Menu was well structured, delicious, and the perfect amount of food.
We have never been to Gaza before. The food was excellent. The facility is beautiful. We have been to the Asian restaurant that occupy the same space many times before. But they have done to the interior is gorgeous. I highly recommend it
The food was delicious! We had a great experience dining here for the first time.
Sushi rolls are excellent, great presentation and taste. Sashimi was not fresh and in my estimation should not be offered if it is not superb. Service was pleasant enough but not as complete as in the past. A guest should not have to ask for plates. Still love the style of the dining area. Given the cost, I hope that the experience gets back to the high quality it has enjoyed in the past.
A very lovely pre-holiday dinner with family. The fresh seafood and sushi rolls were delicious! A quiet environment with beautiful decor.
Service def lacking. Ridiculously long wait. Table guests got food way different times.
Gaza was soo much better than expected. The food & service was incredible, will definitely be going again.
The unlimited sushi was AWESOME!! We had great service and a wonderful experience. All sushi was super fresh and tasted amazing. The miso soups were also very good. The decor and atmosphere was great. Overall a wonderful experience! We will definitely be back!!
My wife and myself went there for her birthday. She is a sushi person. She loved the Godzilla roll and the Lobster roll. We were gifted with the Tempura cheesecake (excellent). All in all a good experience for a first time visit.
My friend and I were looking for a new place with some higher quality food in the area and found this place. I'm astonished I have not heard of this place before! It has some of the best service and quality food in town definitely coming back next week!
Great experience food is very good!!
Excellent variety, prompt service, great food. Will definitely be bakc soon
The place only had three tables of people at 7:00 on a Friday evening. That should have told us to leave. However we stayed and ordered the beef wrapped asparagus as an appetizer and the under the sea for two as our entree. The beef was over cooked as was all of the seafood. The price would have been fine if the food quality was better. We will not go there again.
Food was good, staff was courteous. Sushi came out quickly, took a long time to get hit entrees.
We hesitated to walk in because of the first impression before stepping inside. Food was excellent and the service as well. Just need a more inviting look on the outside!
You need to train you staff on how to present and open wine.
This is mixed. There were 4 of us. Two of us love sushi/rolls etc. The other two like more convention food so both ordered the Ginger Chicken Curry. The Sushi we order was fresh and delicious. Unfortunately the Ginger Chicken Curry was awful - the sauce was congealed not even heated up, cold. The chicken was over cooked and also not hot. This is the 2nd time we have been to Gaza. It's beautiful but the wait staff seems to need some training - you shouldn't have go find them for drinks and the bill. The prices are high enough that only having 50 percent of the meal good isn't good enough. I seriously doubt we will return.
beautiful interior design; spacious; excellent food and service;
Gaza aims to a higher dining experience and they deliver on it. Excellent food and simple decent wine list. Wait staff is attentive but not hovering.
I recommend this restaurant and have visited multiple times and recommended to many friends. Your food is excellent and servers do a good job. This restaurant really needs to change the way the food comes out. The timing is unacceptable.
The food was overpriced. The service was bad. For a modern Japanese restaurant, they only had two sushi rolls. The food tasted great, but the cons outweighed the pros. I would not recommend.
Unexpected Limited menu for graduation day and a bit overpriced.
Service was not good
Everything about Gaza was OUTSTANDING! Do not judge the place by its strip mall location. Nothing pedestrian about Gaza at all. The ambience was very high end, service was excellent, Jay was attentive without hovering. We shared the Passion Poke fom the cold dishes and the beef wrapped asparagus from the hot dishes. Hubby had the Surf and Turf from the Main Dishes choices, which we both agreed was excellent. I had the Seared Salmon Cut from the Signature Cuts menu of sushi offerings. It was FANTASTIC!! We shared the tempura cheesecake, which was delish! We will be returning, sooner rather than later. It was our first of MANY FUTURE VISITS! Bon Appetit
Very pretty and delicious food! Best sushi I’ve had in Bloomington. Have the avocado salad for sure. A lovely setting, good service. Really looking forward to going back to try some if the cooked dishes. Lovely attention to detail. High quality dining. Not just eating out. A real dining experience but at reasonable prices. Definitely go.
Great lunch, food was amazing and service was top notch. Great place for date or hanging out..I must admit I wanted to dust the ledges around the tables..they need to do a deep, spring cleaning that is probably only visible during the day...
Excellent service; fresh food; good value. Definitely will return
The menu has amazing variety. Everything we tried was delicious, from sushi to tempura to duck. Service was very attentive. The decor is relaxing except for the neon lights on the walls that change color. We could definitely do without those. Furniture and place settings are very fancy, and would fit better in an upscale urban setting, not a strip mall in a small college town. But since you go to a restaurant primarily to eat, we will return, and just ignore the interior furnishings.
Attended this venue on Valentine's Day. Upon arrival there was a large 'bouquet' of red heart balloons at the entrance with which my girlfriend posed and made for a great photo she sent to all her friends. We had reservations and were seated right away. The menu was set and there were two entree options and four main dish options, priced differently. The waiter allowed us to pick the appetizers from one menu and pair them with a main dish on the other menu so the staff was very flexible which we appreciated. The atmosphere is upscale and the dishes were well presented and excellent in taste. The dining room is very open, clean and it wasn't noisy at all. On our way out, my girlfriend was presented with a rose because it was Valentine's Day. Japanese is her FAVORITE food and she enjoyed the dinner very much. Likewise, she is small and doesn't eat a lot; me I'm a big guy and could've eaten double what I ate so I marked the value down a notch as we spent $150 which included the meal, a full bottle of wine and the tip. All in all ... this is a great place to eat and we had a great time and were satisfied from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left. Thanks Gaza for a wonderful evening.
Does this place have good food??
Should you come here??
Phenomenology experience! What a gorgeous restaurant in the middle of a strip mall, don't let the outside fool you. The service was impeccable and I'm going to dream about the lobster until ...forever.
Great menu; prime and Wagyu beef. Fresh sashimi. Excellent service. Priced for the quality.
The food was amazing! Our waitor was very helpful in suggesting items. One of the best restaurants we have been to.
Truly average in every way. Needs to up its game if it hopes to be exceptional.
Family outing for birthday. I wish they had acknowledged the birthday in some way - with a dessert or something - but otherwise fantastic!
