Gaylord's at Kilohana
Memorable by day…Unforgettable by Night.
If reservations are not available online, please call us anytime and we will be more than happy to accommodate any seating needs you may need!
Loved the atmosphere for our quiet evening dinner. Service by Craig was very good.
Would love to have returned while on Kauai but we found out about Gaylord's on one of the last days we had our rental car.
One word to describe it was “WOW”! The food was amazingly fresh and savory-delicious! Because my yelp check-in was honored during lunch, we purposely over tipped. Server was knowledgeable of the menu, professional, friendly, and offered suggestions on entrees weren’t sure about with a smile despite the hot-hot weather. My son had a good time as he was distracted by the drawing and coloring paper offered, so my husband and I, as well as other customers were able to enjoy their lunch meals and hospitality of restaurant. Out of all the restaurants we’ve tried during our three weeks vacation in Kauai, Gaylord’s was number one on our list and our last stopped before flying back to California. Our only recommendation is to give our server a raise or bonus for his great service! Thank you Gaylord’s for making this enjoyablely romantic!
Food was great! Sam the waiter was fantastic!
While the ambience was romantic and the service good, the food was just ok. The caprese salad had a balsamic reduction that over powered the locally grown tomatoes and the fresh grilled mahi mahi was undercooked and under seasoned. The shrimp pasta was bland and uninspired. That being said, the banana creme pie was light and delicious. We would not return as the food was not worth what we paid.
Great venue with excellent food, albeit a bit on the higher end of the price spectrum.
We had lunch not expecting much, but it turned out to be fantastic. The food was excellent, the service was great, and the drinks were very good (get the mai tai). Highly recommend.
Food was great! Service was good. Loved the live music they had
We took the family for a nice meal. Everyone liked their meal a lot. Not cheap, but good food.
We booked our New Years Eve dinner at Gaylord’s to be away from the crowds at Poipu Beach and we were not disappointed. From welcoming and seating us to the end of dessert it was an excellent experience. The server shared the specials for the evening and was appropriately attentive. We dined on lamb, fish, short ribs, along with appetizers, cocktails and dessert. The only low point was the crab cake appetizer.
Highly recommended for fine dining.
Dinner on New Years Eve was excellent. The service was fast and the food was so good.
Very nice ambiente and very good food. The service is friendly. I can really recommend it.
Exceeded expectations! Our family loved spending our first morning having brunch at Gaylord’s. Beautiful grounds. Delicious food.
While on a nice plantation we were slightly disappointed. Bar Manager was very nice while we enjoyed a cocktail before dinner. Service was a bit slow, vegetable spring rolls delicious. I’d skip the crab cake appetizer as a bit mushy. Restaurant Manager was very nice and extremely accommodating.
Felt like a low-key tourist trap. Food was on the bad side of “acceptable” resort fare. The property itself wasn’t awful - but it *was* showing its age.
We have been here many times, and have always had such a wonderful time. This time was a little different! We showed up a few minutes early and the restaurant was nearly empty—at 6pm on a Thursday! The hostess said she couldn’t seat us until 6:15 “because of the huge luau party.” Fifteen minutes later we returned to the still empty restaurant. The food was ok. The service was ok. The restaurant felt like an empty shell of its former self. We left feeling totally underwhelmed. What a bummer!
Absolutely one of the best meals and drinks we have had in Kauai. I don't think you could go wrong with anything on the menu.
Great place to have lunch before catching the long flight back to the mainland.
Fresh catch is fantastic as are the desserts.
We had a reservation for Christmas dinner and no one ever mentioned it was a buffet. We were extremely disappointed and the food on the buffet was horrible. The service was terrible as well. There wasn’t even the correct silverware on the table. Had to wait forever to get a knife. We were so excited to go there and were so disappointed.
Went for a special birthday dinner and since it was Christmas they had a buffet. When we made the reservation there was no mention of this. To be kind what was left of the buffet was horrible and inedible. My wife wanted prime rib and the only piece that was left was all fat. I ate a little rice and my wife ate a little salad. Everything else us left on our plate. We spent $157.00 for 2 people to have what we had hoped would be a nice dinner in Kauai and it was a disaster.
The Luau was great, but dinner was just ordinary (buffet geared for tourists), save the prime rib... which was delicious. We ate dinner at the Gaylord’s dining room and joined Luau later at 7:00 PM. Plantation reserve seating worthwhile.
Buffet Food okay. Plentiful, but nothing special in taste or variety. Carving table was good. Beautiful setting.
The meal was amazing! My steak was perfect. I could cut it with a fork. The noise level was low enough where we could hold a conversation. I highly recommend this place.
I loved the open air atmosphere. It would be great for a family celebration.
Christmas Eve at Gaylord’s has become a family tradition for us! We are from the mainland but have vacationed on Kauai for the past 22 Christmases! The food, service & ambiance is superb! Unfortunately, the upstairs shops are closed on Christmas Eve but we always come back on another day to browse - worth it!
We had a very pleasant evening and delicious dinner. Our waiter,Sam, was a wealth of knowledge about the specials and entrees. We highly recommend this restaurant for a relaxing meal.
Not impressed with what was said to be the best Brunch on the island... not a good experience from the get go and overall not worth the cost. The Bloody Mary Bar mentioned here as "Sundays after 9am" on open table was no where to be found? Disappointed and will not be back.
We come back every time we are in Kaua’i.!the setting is historic and impressive - and they make you feel like you re an important guest to the plantation manor house!
Check in was a little annoying, but after that service was especially good as was the food
Family was visiting
Superb ambiance of the old Hawaiin island, beauty, peace, and warm cordiality, matched by exquisite cuisine that is authentic, flavorful, and affordable. A great date place and memorable. We will be sure to make reservations prior to our next trip to Kauai. Alpha and many mahalos!
We come here every two years and absolutely LOVE this place. Favorite place in the world to eat and just BE....
Nice and interesting place. Good food and excellent service.
The original service was very slow but once we got going it was OK. I had the prime rib and the flavor was wonderful. My lady friend had fish and it was equally good. There was a piano player and he played my request of Vinca Guarldi’s Cast Your Faye to the Wind for us. A very nice evening
Gaylord's was a delightful place for an early evening meal before we headed to the airport to end our stay in Kawai. The main courses we selected were wonderful. Although good the dessert we choose was not as spectacular. The out door setting was very pleasant if a little chilly on the night we were there. We also enjoyed some shopping and the train tour before the dinner.
Beautiful plantation home with grounds worth exploring before dinner. Outdoor patio seating. Fresh fish well prepared.
Great service and wonderful food. The fish tacos were outstanding and the Reuben sandwich was delicious and huge. Our child enjoyed the pasta with chicken and the view of the property is great.
We loved Gaylord’s. The food was fantastic and the ambience was the best we experienced on Kauai. The service was friendly and professional. Our waiter, Jay, was attentive and kind. The live guitar player (Cory) was so good. We would have stayed longer in the lounger afterward to listen if we didn’t have to catch our flight home. The gentleman working in the gift shop was so kind and warm. Our only regret about this place was that we went on our last night in Kauai instead of our first. We look forward to going again when we return to the beautiful Garden Isle.
We had an amazing lunch at Gaylord’s. We liked it so much that we returned today for there Brunch. Excellent!
