The venue is nice. There was a live background music which we enjoyed. The food was good. But we felt overpriced.

The view and ambiance was amazing as usual. It was slow, yet our food took 45 minutes to arrive. Turns out another table ordered what we did and they got our food. Nobody told is what was going on until we asked the runner, who was on his first day alone. We weren't in a hurry so it wasn't a big deal, but our server ignored us most of the time. Food was great so we we're happy overall. Just don't get Charlene as a server.

I was very disappointed in the menu as there was no identifying the gluten free items. I asked the waiter which items were gf and he really did not seem that knowledgeable about gf items. I was informed that the baked chicken was gf but when it arrived at the table there was a sauce on the chicken which I was not sure about and the waiter never came back to the table for me to inquire about the sauce. The service was not great, it seems our waiter left and another waiter took over our table who did not seem concerned with our table. On a positive note the outside dining area was beautiful as was the music and the atmosphere.

This is one of our favorite spots to eat at! The Happy hour food and drinks were the best. I wish we would of stayed at the bar area for the sinner.

Historic Plantation home, several delightful gift shops, and nice grounds. Our lunch was very good--we had Reuben and their short rib "dip". Our waitress was excellent--all in all a wonderful afternoon!

Delightful brunch buffet, although very few things were labeled so it was a guessing game what most of it was. Everything was delicious though!

Any time you can comfortably time your meal is a good time. Sunny days are slower than cloudy days. Take advantage. Lovely food and great aloha service. And take advantage of the rum tasting at Koloa.

Always love the fresh fish of the day—it needed more sauce and fish was dry—a little over cooked...hence 4 stars instead of 5. Dessert was the best—funnel cake with vanilla ice cream with a squirt if caramel sauce all over it.

Very cool venue. There are a few shops on the grounds that are pretty cool (including one where they make pottery). There is also a train that you can take the family on (check the schedule though as it doesn't run all the time) The food was decent, but definitely overpriced for what it was. I was expecting fine dining for those prices, but I guess you are paying for the scenery. I will say their cocktails were really good. Great service by the staff!

The food was just barely okay, not worth the cost. This place seems dated and in need of repair. I had the linguine with shrimp and it was just ok - they probably put a pound of pasta there, but the dish just was not right and no one should get a pound of pasta. My husband had the special fish dish - it was dry and tasteless.

very nice location, interesting history/background, reasonable size portions (not the usually huge ones!), attached to more attractions/entertainments on the same premises

Dinner at Gaylords was a great way to end our 12 days on the Island of Kauai. The setting is pure Hawaii and the services, along with the prime rib, was excellent.

Having been to Gaylord’s in the past for birthdays and anniversaries, I was saddened to see that Gaylord’s doesn’t have the special occasion feeling that it used to have. Our hostess seemed more focused on logistics than on welcoming us to the restaurant. We checked in a little early for our reservation and were told we would have to wait as she was seating in order of times. We waited and waited, as others were being seated with later reservations than ours. When we went to check, she greeted us as if we were never there, and then tried to seat us next to the hostess station, where there was quite a bit of turmoil with walk-ins, and a large party at a long table next to us. We asked for a different table and were moved to a nice table next to the courtyard. The entertainment in the bar was very loud, playing reggae and pop music typical for a bar, but not appropriate for dining. We could barely have a conversation until the musicians took a break. We had looked over the dinner menus online beforehand, but found that the menu had changed, which was disappointing. The food was good, and the service was fine. All-in-all, we were not as impressed with the whole dining experience as we had been in the past. We probably won’t chose to celebrate at Gaylord’s in the future.

We had a dinner reservation for 6:00 pm. When we arrived the restaurant was completely full—no tables available. We were informed that the Luau was still “going on” and we could not be seated. More people began to arrive for their reservations (one was a party of 15), but luau still “going on”. Slowly the diners began to leave, and after much rushing by staff, tables became available. I would have liked an apology from a member of staff for the delay.

This was our first trip to Gaylord’s . We did it on a recommendation from other websites in from locals here in Kauai’i..

The overall ambience, setting, live music while we were eating was wonderful.

We enjoyed our meals. I think we would’ve enjoyed them even more, if they were specific information about gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian options. I’m not sure if this is something you have to ask for in advance, to get the details around these various options.

Overall, a great experience.

Food was very good, view excellent. Service was slow, not rude, but had to ask multiple times for basics like salt, pepper, water. Never did get ketchup for my fries, even after asking twice. Not what I'd have expected.

Anniversary dinner... wonderful ambiance and amazing food! Piano music was lovely- but noisy at times Bc we were there on luau night so you could hear some of the music from the show. But it didn’t clash with the piano music at all, or overlap. Great experience! Will definitely return!

Once again Gaylord’s didn’t disappoint. Sitting outside in the early evening, soft breeze blowing, having a pre dinner drink while listening to live music in the background. Our waitress was friendly, efficient and professional. Our food was delicious, I had roasted chicken (yes, I know sounds boring) but it was moist and seasoned wonderfully.

Exploring this property is both fun and interesting. Located in a historical building with shops, rum tasting room, and a train tour of the plantation. The restaurant is located in the courtyard of the main house (under cover!). The food was very good; I had seared scallops on potato croquettes. The presentation was great as was the taste. Service was good also. Definitely worth a trip here while on Kauai!

Watch that entry step! Husband fell but staff was kind and responded with concern, a bag of ice and a promise to speak to the management about what they offered was a hazardous un-highlighted step leaving the restaurant.

The food and ambiance were very nice.

The piano player in the bar was an accomplished but loud distraction who literally banged out a zippy/frantic (poor) selection of tunes.

We went for dinner at Gaylord's when doing the "entertainment only" option for the luau. The scenic was quite lovely - lush and green. Very beautiful place to enjoy dinner. Unfortunately, I would have to say the atmosphere was the high point. Service was very friendly but also slow. The food was fine but nothing special. And we were charged $21 per child for a small bowl of pasta, a smoothie and a hard cookie. Come for a beautiful setting but keep your expectations in check if you are seeking a gourmet meal.
