Gaylord's at Kilohana
Memorable by day…Unforgettable by Night.
If reservations are not available online, please call us anytime and we will be more than happy to accommodate you!
Enjoy the sunday brunch. Great value for the food, ambience, entertainment, and workers.
Fantastic. I had the daily catch special (Monchong) Oscar style (blue crab on top). It was is a lemon butter cream sauce, but the lemon was so subtle it was almost unnoticeable Best fish meal I’ve ever had.
Wonderful brunch. Good variety.
Love the restaurant, the food was excellent and service was great. Thank you.
Sitting in the 1920s courtyard of Gaylord’s surrounded by tropical landscaping and lighting, candle lit tables, linens and cloths, elegant but somehow casual. Several staff attended to our wine and cocktail service, fresh bread and olive oil, perfectly prepared meals in a portion that didn’t leave room for dessert. We were fortunate to enjoy their ambiance on the last night of our stay, and we agreed it was also one of our vacation highlights. If you plan ahead you can incorporate rum tasting before or after your meal on site at Kolea Rum.
Setting is perfect. The night we were there a wedding party in the bar was a little annoying. Not the norm (been here before).
Everyone was so friendly & accommodating! Our meals were scrumptious! Excellent Mai Tai's !!! My favorite place! I want to live there!
Gaylord's is a beautiful plantation/restaurant. It's calming ambiance with live piano playing in one of the nearby rooms.
Recommend the crab cakes for appetizers! Must go for a beautiful evening.
Great food, nice outdoor shaded seating, ahi poke was highlight
Great location and excellent service. The food was tasty and well prepared.
Gaylord's is a must stop while you are on Kauai. The food was excellent and quite fresh and the outdoor dining ambiance was wonderful. The best time is when there is a light rain to offset the heat of the day while you dine on the covered patio areas. If you go in the afternoon when it is sunny it can get a bit warm but the staff can lower shades so that it doesn't get miserable. We had both lunch and dinner at Gaylord's on different days and were quite impressed with the quality each time. I tried to add a photo of their Ahi Tuna Stack (OMG so good!) but the website is being dumb and saying the photo is too big.
Very nice, especially our server, she made the experience even better.
The service and drinks were very good, but our food was not. We ordered two appetizers which were both completely tasteless. My husbands prime rib was decent but bland, and my scallops were terrible, neither of us could eat them. It was very disappointing because the restaurant came highly recommended to us.
Food was outstanding!! Our server, Thomas, was horrible. He treated us like second class citizens. It started when I showed him gift vouchers from Diamond Resorts where we were staying. We had $250 worth and were anxious to use them for a nice meal, there were 7 of us. He took our orders and served us our drinks. He never asked if everything was ok, never offered us another drink and we had to ask for the two children with us their dessert that was included in the meal. As we sat there he was very attentive to the tables around us but ignored us. We will not go back and he put a damper to what we were hoping for was a great meal and experience!
I would recommend going here for the atmosphere alone. The restaurant is beautiful and there are shops to explore before you get your table. The food was very good, but it was pretty pricey.
Our best dining experience on the island of Kauai. Excellent food, drinks, and service. We will definitely back on our next visit to Kauai.
Food was very weak, service was weak, ambiance was great but didn't make up the other two elements. Very disappointed overall. Use to be one of my favorite places to dine.
Food was not good especially for the price. They had a “local catch”, but it was over cooked and they. Put. MARINARA on my fish!!! What “chef” does that? The poke appetizer was bland. They were out of the pork tenderloin, the one thing my wife wanted. Atmosphere is quaint, just wished the food matched. Won’t be back.
Love it! Gaylord’s is my favorite restaurant on the island.
A very charming way to enjoy Sunday with friends and family. The plantation house is very charming, nice outdoor space . Food was good, family style, not that "fancy" hotel style food here. We all loved it - it was almost nostalgic. Reminiscent of dinners at grandma's house. Grandma who can cook and cares. We would love to go back. Yummy deserts too.
The wait staff was very nice. The hula and singer were lovely. The food set up was terrible with the room being like a sauna. It felt like a heat wave when you walked in. We eat at 11 am and the cheese was already melting. The food was ok but not $40. We did the train ride as well - that was over priced for the ride. The rum tasting was fun. The guide on the train and the rum tasting lady were all awesome.
Only issue was I asked the carver if could get rarer piece of beef and he only had very small end left but would no break the other loin
The food and all of the choices were fabulous ! We loved the ambiance. We'll definitely be repeat customers.
Food wasn’t as good as expected. Don’t order a steak or the shrimp pasta.
Based on the recommendation we received we were disappointed with our experience. Food and drinks were okay, but our poor server appeared to be the only one serving quite a few tables making it difficult for him to provide adequate service. It took about 20 minutes for us to get our drinks and even longer to place our order. They did provide us a great table since we made a reservation for our honeymoon which was amazing as we were able to see the entire grounds from a private space.
Great experience! Took a couple of friends who had never been to Gaylord’s - they loved it.
Being from Oahu that was our first time at Gaylord's. Since it was Father's Day I was looking for a brunch that we could attend. OMG! We weren't disappointed. The ambiance, staff, and food was FABULOUS!! My husband kept talking about how much he enjoyed going there and how tasty the food was. We will definitely go back the next time we are in Kauai!!
We went to Gaylord’s to celebrate our anniversary. It was delicious in a beautiful setting.
Gaylord’s is a great place for lunch after the train ride. We came here twice during our 14 days on Kauai. The food is outstanding—especially the fresh catch of the day. We liked the open air patio, attention to detail, flower arrangements, and paintings on the walls too. It felt elegant, yet laid back. We would come here again! The service was outstanding! Dining Hawaiian style for sure!
We have dined here many times and love it...it’s a must do every time we visit Kauai.
Craig, Cisco, and Shelby were fantastic! Would highly recommend for the food and the staff.
Fantastic food and service. The Mac Nut encrusted fish with purple mash sweet potatoes was outstanding. My husband loved the baby backed ribs.
Also went out of their way to provide me with ice for my ankle which I had sprained site seeing earlier in the day at another location.
Our visit to Gaylord's at Kilohana was probably the least favorite restaurant during our recent visit to Kauai. We had an advance reservation and were seated right away. Our waiter came over right away and we gave him our orders. We ordered the Caprese Salad to be brought first and then our entree's after. We both ordered the Short Ribs.
Following our order another couple came in and were seated. We could overhear their initial order which consisted of an appetizer dip and the Caprese Salad. We waited and waited. Eventually the other guests received both their appetizer and Caprese while we were still waiting. When I questioned the hostess she said that she'd find out what was going on. Eventually, a server brought our Caprese salad. He literally dropped the salad in the middle of the table and presented my wife with a plate. I did not get a plate. He didn't say anything but just walked away.
The manager came over and apologized for the oversight and promised to take care of us. I have to say that the tomatoes were dry and the cheese was over baked.
We then eventually received our short rib orders. The short ribs were delicious. It came with a scoop side of mashed potatoes. The potatoes had a hard skin which indicated that they have been sitting under a heat lamp for who knows how long.
The manager did comp us for the salad and a glass of wine and was very apologetic. We appreciate it when service is under stress due to an abundance of customers but there were only 4 occupied tables when we went.
What a wonderful setting and outstanding food. The short ribs were flavorful and really tender. Service was outstanding and you didn’t feel rushed
It was very pleasant. Very reasonably priced. I personally did not care for my menu selection, but my husband enjoyed his.
Food and location amazing! Had a waiter who kept forgetting our drinks and even forgot to bring our appetizer!! All he wanted to do was talk about himself and being from the east coast!! Gaylord’s needs to let him go find another job which suits him better!! Other then that , everything was wonderful!!
A real jewel in Kauai! Every member of the team was attentive to our needs and the setting was worth the visit itself! Food was over the top! Thanks Gaylords!
We visit every time we come to Kauai. Wonder estate and dining experience. Food, ambiance and service are always outstanding. This is more than just a dining experience.
Amazing service....phenomenal menu, quiet ambiance. Decor is old school Hawaii which is a breath of fresh air.
