Memorable by day…Unforgettable by Night.

Derrick was our waiter.he made sure our drinks were never empty, our food was hot and delicious,he was very personable and took very good care of us
Every year when we come to Kauai we go to Gaylords for dinner. the ambiance and changing menu are refreshing when compared to a lot of touristy restaurants all with the same macadamia nut crusted mahi mahi menus.
My wife and I started off with a Caesar salad, which we split. It was delicious and even split each portion was very large. We then both had the prime rib which was the special of the night. It was very flavorful and again a large portion. It is outdoor dining and very relaxed atmosphere which is soothing and enjoyable. Highly recommend
The food was simply to die for! They have a new chef & it was a terrific choice.
We’ve been to Gaylord’s several times over the years and always had a very nice dining experience. Last night two of our party of four ordered the Oscar style fish. Both got sick. The food looked great and tasted fine, but not an hour after we returned home the distress started. Unexpected and disappointing
Outstanding food, ambience and entertainment. Sorry we don’t have time to go back on this trip.
The venue was amazing, a tropical paradise. An intimate brunch for our anniversary week. Amanda our server was attentive, friendly and informative. Delicious food with local flair, tasty, tasty.
One of Hawaii's finest restaurants (quite possibly one of the finest in the US). A unique experience every time you visit there. They source everything possible from the island of Kauai and are proud to do so. We have been there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner numerous times in our travels to Kauai and they never disappoint. Cannot recommend them highly enough.
Awesome location and view. Great server and busser, actually the whole stuff were great!
I love the Ahi stack and their pies!
If bugs are attracted to you, like my husband make sure you use bug repellent ahead of time. It’s just the nature of Kauai.
Very peaceful setting - food and service was excellent.
Nice relaxed courtyard setting...lunch fish special was good.
On cruise, was near port and easy to get to.
Beautiful setting. Very accommodating to food allergy. Great chef and awesome service.
Fantastic evening. They made our anniversary so special. The food and ambiance was wonderful and the music was great as well.
I was very skeptical about Gaylord's because we usually steer away from touristy places. But I had read an article written by a local who listed it as one of their favorite restaurants on the island, and all of the other reviews were so good that we decided to make an exception. When we arrived and my husband saw the train and all the shops, he said, "ugh." But I told him to give it a chance, and, well, it was terrific! The atmosphere of the restaurant is lovely, the service was attentive, and the food was very good. We started by splitting the French onion soup which was clearly house made and was respectably complex. Then, my husband had the grilled fresh catch on a bed of jasmine rice with a lovely ginger cream sauce. It was quite delicious. I ordered the fish tacos which came three to a serving and were very generous, almost to a fault (if that's a thing). Each taco had a large chunk of grilled ahi (not a wimpy sliver like at The Dolphin) and cabbage slaw with a delicious spicy aioli. I wish I had known that the tacos were served with fries because I would have asked for a salad instead, especially since the fries were SO good that I wanted to eat them all!
So, don't be put off by all the periphery at Kilohana Plantation. Just go for the lovely atmosphere and the really good food at Gaylord's.
John gave an excellent service. The food was great and thé dessert exceptionnel. The privé is reasonnable.
Fabulous brunch at Gaylords! The food was delicious, well prepared, varied. We especially enjoyed the perfectly cooked prime rib. The service was impeccable. We very much enjoyed sitting in the courtyard and listening to the live Hawaiian music. It was fun to wander the shops afterwards and enjoy the ambiance of the house. We would make a point of coming back to Gaylord's again next time we are in Kauai.
Great Place can't believe I hadn't been there before.
The Hawaiian music was lovely but too loud . It would be much nicer for ambience about 1/3 of the volume down.
My sister and I always look forward to Sunday Brunch at Gaylord’s when we visit Kauai. It’s always a great experience and this time was no different. In fact, we agreed the food was better than ever. Or maybe we were just really hungry! :)
The food was fabulous. We had the Oscar and the Cioppini. The bartender was also very good. We had two of the specialty drinks which were not too sweet, how we like them. The bartender was very knowledgeable and creative.
We went to celebrate a birthday and our accomplishment of the Kalalau Trail hike
We didn't get our food until we'd been sitting at our table for over an hour.
We’ve been coming to Kauai for more than 20 yrs, and have always loved Gaylords. We brought our friends on a Monday night and had a horrible experience! The service was very slow and poor. The server turned out to be the owners son, and he obviously didn’t want to be there! I don’t think he said two words when tossing the salads on the table, and turning around and leaving before we could say anything. We actually complained to the manager to no avail and to our waitress, who do nothing. The orders were mixed up, and a portion of the desert forgotten. Considering the cost of Gaylords, I doubt I will ever eat there again! The excuse we heard was that they were very busy with a wedding party and a tour bus. My feeling is that they should have extra help if they are going to take on those services, and continue to provide the experience we expected. We never even had an apology for the problems we experienced.
Great food, service, ambiance, and overall a wonderful dining experience.
Great seating food exceptional for all four of us Very nice music for dining.
We have been to Gaylord's on many previous trips to Kauai which is why we returned. This time we went on our first night there and were served by Dava who was wonderful!! She was so attentive, knew the menu and gave us some great recommendations.
We enjoyed ourselves so much, we returned on our last night on the island which was a Wednesday. Again Dava was our server and we enjoyed every minute. On Wednesdays they have wonderful live music that really made our dinner experience even better.
I would recommend that anyone traveling to Kauai should dine at Gaylord's at least one evening during their stay
We will return to Gaylord's again!
One of our favorite places because the food is consistently well prepared. Also, I don’t drink Mai Tais...but I do here! All drinks are “top shelf” and you can tell the quality is a focus on everything they do. Worth the wait and we also enjoy a drink in the adjacent lounge that is like a mini-museum for the property.
This is our "go to" place on Kauai. It is lovely and still dependable after all these years. My husband enjoyed the Oscar. I had the scallops which were well prepared.
Pupus were great ! Entrees were awesome. Desserts were just okay.
We have been coming to Kauai for many years and always stop by Gaylords for a brunch.
But lately it is not what it used to be. We enjoyed to order the Ahi eggs Benedict from the menu and pick up extra food items from the buffet. It was a very classy approach to brunch, which is unfortunately no longer available.
We had a wonderful dining experience. Food was excellent, service outstanding, very nice environment, quiet enough to carry on a conversation with ease. Highly recommend Gaylord’s.
The presentation of the daily catch was beautiful, and the taste lived up to the looks.
By far this was the best dinner we've had on the island!
Great place if you want that quintessential Hawaiian dining experience. Eating on the veranda with the garden and expansive lawn was a treat. We were also greeted by pacific cardinals and “Hawaiian” chickens. There are nice seafood items on the menu as well as a wonderful banana cream pie with an incredible coconut crust for dessert. Enjoyed the place so much we went back a second time the same week.
We always have a great time at Gaylord’s. The food is good not great but it is consistent and the ambiance is what makes it. They also have a good cocktail bar. Views are stunning from nearly every table.
Fish of the day and special pie amazing!
Nice place but a bit expensive. The waiters were fabulous though. Went above and beyond. Food was ok but not amazing. Love the location.
One of the best meals I have had recently. There were 4 of us and everyone loved their meals. Everything was so fresh and delicious. Our waitress and all the other staff were awesome. Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Even the cocktails are all made from fresh ingredients.
Great place to eat on the island. No sea view but the overall vibe and decor more than made up for it. Nice musical artist to make the evening wonderful. Definitely a must eat place if you are on Kauai.
What a wonderful surprise! After ten days of food trucks, noisy "happening" restaurants with lots of mai this, we were ready for a subdued, quiet, romantic meal...and we were lucky enough to find Gaylord's.
The setting and ambience are refined and classy, without being fussy. Seating for lunch was on the verandah, and tables are spaced sufficiently far apart so you don't have to shout or listen to your neighbor complain about her ex-husband. Views are up toward the mountains and there is a spaciousness to the restaurant which is soothing.
The waitstaff is attentive and knowledgable, being careful not to interrupt our conversation. Our waitress pleasantly guided us though the menu and was quick to refill water and ice tea glasses.
We chose the fish tacos and the chopped kale and arugula salad, which were a perfect combo for a warm day. The ahi for the taco was perfectly cooked (seared on the outside, raw on the inside). My only minor quibble is that I wish the ahi had been cut up into smaller chunks -- trying to bite into a large piece of essentially raw tuna can be hard - I ended up slicing the meat into smaller pieces before re-attempting to eat as a taco. Again, not major, but offered as a friendly suggestion. The salad was outstanding- I'm not a big kale fan, but this assortment of greens, veggies, and craisins was accented with the perfect passionfruit vinaigrette dressing. We could have eaten more!
This is a restaurant for adults who want a quiet, relaxed, and pleasant meal with a touch of elegance.
