Gaylord's at Kilohana
Memorable by day…Unforgettable by Night.
If reservations are not available online, please call us anytime and we will be more than happy to accommodate you!
Good food and very enjoyable Enjoyable atmosphere
Bit expensive, for breakfast buffet, great setting
Very nice restaurant and food. My only qualm is why they insist on not seating you until the exact time of our reservation. We arrived 15 minutes early and had to wait 10-12 minutes before being seated at a table that was available the entire time waiting.
Wonderful as always! This is our end of trip dinner anytime we are on the island of Kauai. Never disappoints! We love ending our trip with this tradition . Last stop before the airport! Thank you Gaylord’s
Wonderful food and service in relaxing atmosphere
Service and quality of the food was much improved since my last visit. The prime rib was cooked perfectly and the lamb was tasty. The meal would have been complete with a great dessert. The chocolate decadence would have been better if it was warm and served with ice cream.
Rating is low due to an extremely long wait for reservation time made through Open Table. 6 pm reservation got seated at 7:20. No effort made to let us know that they had an issue until I mentioned our disappointment with manager when leaving.
The fish was very dry. Over cooked. Other than that the rest was very good.
Waitress would not accommodate a gluten free diner. Manager later compensated free desserts and stated chef could make any of their dishes gluten free.
Several missteps: Entrees arrived before the salad; one of the returned entrees after the salad was not fresh/hot; not our server knocked over wine on wife...manager and water were gracious and generous but it never should have happened.
Non responsive service in the bar...we sat there 10 minutes before server noticed us; order a tall gin and tonic got a regular one; separate bills for bar and restaurant.
Fish tacos were excellent! Great outdoor experience with a roof over your head.
Amazing dinner in a romantic setting with my love. What could be better than that.
We had to wait 50 mins for our meals. Burger ordered medium , cooked well done.. iced tea had to be sent back it was awful.
Ordered coffee , thought the waitress might comp the coffee but no.
Will go back but disappointed with this most recent trip to Gaylord’s.
Great ambiance. Ribs are not great. Do not compare with Chicago or KC.My wife’s local gish was good.
It was a bit of a tough day due to traffic issues coming out of Lihue and staff shortages, but they made do and made us feel welcome and well served. Food was good.
The brunch is just not that good anymore. Regular menu meals are good, but the brunch is served with orange juice, POG, coffee, or ice tea. The orange juice and POG are so watered down it is hard to call them juice. Maybe flavored water. They don't refresh their buffet line often enough. For $39 I expected better.
Fabulous environment and food!
We brought some friends with us because whenever visiting KAUAI we always stop at least once. Sunday brunch is our favorite. Food and service excellent
The setting is lovely, server was very attentive and the food was very good. Would definitely return.
Wonderful meal in a beautiful setting (former sugar cane plantation) ... perfect service from Donna ... excellent seared ahi and beef short ribs
Excellent food, service, and ambience. Really enjoyed the fish tacos as well as the fish and chips. Excellent fries. Big portion sizes.
The food was very good. Everything was prepared perfectly. The ambiance is great. We have eaten here before here, it’s always good. We will be back again.
Birthday dinner. The food was marginal- under seasoned, not hot enough, fish tasted “fishy”, crostini was burnt or underdone. I called a couple of days ahead of time to see if they could accommodate a dessert made only with natural sugar (maple, honey, date or coco sugar) and was told “absolutely “. When it was time for dessert, I was informed that I’d be getting fruit with honey on it— disappointing and I passed. The server was apologetic but also seemed to take offense that I opted out which made for an awkward end to the meal. Service was slow. Lots of money for not a great meal. The setting is gorgeous but didn’t make up for the rest of the experience. I will not go back.
Awesome Cobb salads. Loved the butternut squash soup! We always come to Gaylord‘s when we are on the island. Our server was very good and apologetic, but the kitchen appeared quite slow. It took about an hour to get our food. I think this is odd, given our previous experiences, so we would definitely give it another go… The scenery is amazing.
Wir waren zum Abendessen dort. Ambiente ist der Hammer und das Essen sehr lecker. Die Bar innen war ausgezeichnet und sehr schön. Wir würden bestimmt wieder gehen. Preis/Leistung eher hochpreisig.
Food was good. The fish and chips were delicious as was the home made tarter sauce. Dessert was hit and miss.
New Year’s Eve dinner
Lovely grounds, delicious entrees
Wonderful time with my sons. Very relaxing even though it was a holiday.
Have been coming to Kauai for years and have enjoyed an occasional luau or just dinner at Gaylords. I personally like the Sunday Brunch. The setting is just very relaxing even before the rum tasting.
Spending New Years in Kauai with family.
We wanted it to be memorable.
We are never disappointed with the quality of service we receive and the meals are always delicious.
Returned after 15 years- it is a bit different, things change! The service and the food were still wonderful! Highly recommend eating here!
Loved it all. Food was great, service too. Especially loved the setting! Want to go back soon!
Beautiful but a tourist tap and RIDICULOUSLY overpriced. Food was subpar.
As the top rated restaurant in Lihue we had higher expectations than were experienced.
Here's were they fell short: A piano player was playing 'rag time' very loudly which gave a frenzied feel to the restaurant which seemed to make the serving staff frenzied as well. They literally ran everywhere, they spoke hurriedly, and seemed to be rushing us (we were there for less than 90 minutes total) through our courses. We started with a drink, appetizer, main course and coffee with dessert.
Three staff members dragged a couple of tables right beside us (metal legs on a stone floor) as well as rearranging each of the eight chairs.
A different server brought our appetizers (2 of the three as they forgot the salad for one of our party) and just put them in the middle of the table. Another server asked if we wanted an extra plate to share but what we wanted was the third appetizer.
My husband ordered the Hoisin ribs, I ordered the short ribs. The 'food runner' switch our meals and then when I questioned him, he said they were both beef. Our original server came by at that moment and switched our plates. I also had to ask for a fork as I only had one when we sat down to our table.
One of our party had the shrimp pasta (big serving) and requested to take-away what was left. The server literally dropped it on the table as she was running by without a word.
I asked for coffee with my dessert but I had finished my coffee by the time the desserts came.
All in all, 4 different serving staff attended our table and our bill was placed on our table before we were half way through our desserts ('just so we wouldn't have to chase her down for it').
The service wasn't great... it wasn't completely terrible either but it was well below what we expected from the 'top rated' restaurant in Lihue.
Family Christmas vacation
We had dinner on Christmas Eve when Gaylord’s was not serving its usual menu but a fixed-price special menu (choose one of two appetizers, soup or salad, one of five entrees, one of two desserts). Everything was excellent and the service was superb in spite of it being Christmas Eve. Most impressive!
Great food but poor service.
The place is friendly. Service is excellent. The food is fresh, portions are generous. Lunch is moderately priced.
Very nice experience. The pork ribs were the only disappointment.
Great! Always love eating there and visiting shops and rum company!
We really enjoyed the live music and of course the ambiance of this place is unique and relaxing. While the food -- pasta was a little over-done, the shrimps and sauce were delicious. We really enjoy the fried spring roll appetizer and of course, the service is always excellent. Good all round value.
