In a time where some experiences are not up to previous standards, Gautreau’s sets the bar even higher. Perfection in a truly New Orleans experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We went for our anniversary. The hostess wished us a happy anniversary and our table was delightfully embellished with a bit of sparkle. Just enough to make us feel special. The food was superb. I had shrimp, my husband always has the filet. Excellent on every level.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Gautreau’s 21 years ago! It still is the best - great food and great atmosphere. So glad this place has withstood the test of time - and COVID - but it isn’t hard to figure out why!
Very nicely prepared fish with innovative ingredients. Chef is doing a great job. One of our very favorite local restaurant.
Always a Pleasure! Delicious food, excellent service, a charming room. Little more need be said about Gautreau’s, except perhaps that we loom forward to next time!
The food and service were fantastic. Loved the padded, cloth covered tables.
The experience was excellent from start to finish. We appreciated the personal attention from proprietor, Patrick Singley. He made some excellent wine suggestions. The waiter was attentive and made good suggestions too and followed thro on our requests to share various appetizers and entrees.
I always love being at a round table and with 7 people it really helped to be able to speak easily with everyone.
Food was delicious. The tables were a little too close together.
Prices had increased. Disappointed no bread was served for the table. Food excellent
Excellent local neighborhood restaurant. greats soups and appetizers. Fish specials and rabbit was very good. Glad it is open again.
One of the best meals I have had in New Orleans. Amazing service, food, wine, ambience. Will eat here every time I am in town.
The food was amazing as well as the service! We will definitely be back!
Beautiful and quaint restaurant slightly "out of the way" in Uptown area. We love to try new spots that we personally have not discovered and this was amazing. It's a small and quaint dining area so the noise level is pretty high but "energetic" may be the good way to put it. Not too loud to not have a nice conversation. Most folks dressed up nicely for small groups, dates and had a classy feel some places have lost....only saw one pair of jeans and baseball hat and know that sounds snobby but a meal and venue like this, to me, is one for a special and unique occasion. I'd eat there every week but a little on the pricey side, especially with a bottle of wine or 2. All said it is worth every penny. Each of us tried various starters and entrees and every one was spectacular. Wine selection was nice and desserts wonderful if you have room. Finally our service was top notch and truly enjoyed this evening. We'll be back very soon!!
Happy y’all are open, great to be back. Everything was fantastic.
We had a wonderful meal! Service was impeccable.
Wonderful food. Glad they have finally reopened.
We had a wonderful girls’ night dinner here. This is a small, quaint restaurant with amazing food. I highly recommend there fish and seafood dishes. This was the best meal we had in New Orleans by far!
Gautreau’s is a jewel and made our short trip to New Orleans even better. While the news channels were bombarding the airways with corona virus stories, we escaped for a few blissful hours of wonderful family revelry in a beautiful setting. Thank you for setting such a high standard of culinary excellence.
We ate in shortly before restaurant closing. The staff was very conscientious with new sanitary precautions... including removing salt & pepper shaker after meal to be disinfected. That's the first time I've ever noticed wait staff clear them away along with dishes. Excellent. Needless to say, food was amazing and as a vegetarian/mostly vegan diner, I was thrilled by the selection of options for me.
The room was freezing! If you go there make sure to bring a coat. We brought it to the attention of the waiter, but was old others thought it was hot. Looking around had coats and wraps on.
First time for me and my wife to Gautreau’s. Food and service were excellent. Foie gras and scallop apps were delicious, scallops were cooked perfectly. Snapper and flounder entrees had great combination of flavors. We will return on our next visit to NO.
The celery soup is a must. Amazing meal, excellent service.
The food and the service were both absolutely amazing!! We will definitely be back!
None of us thought the food was very good. I had shrimp that smelled fishy (frozen) I couldn’t finish it. The one who asked for non dairy recommendations had dairy in her meal. The steak people said the steak was ok, nothing special.
One of my favourite restaurant in Nola!
Always the best! One of my favorite restaurants in NOLA for a well prepared delectable meal with beautiful presentation and interesting flavors.
This was a lovely dining experience. Delicious food and wine. Friendly, attentive service
We were very surprised to find the restaurant in a residential neighborhood and without signage. Upon entering we we’re greeted by the Maitre d’hotel and taken to our table. The wait staff was attentive, helpful and unobtrusive.
The food was of a high level and consistent with the price of the menu items. We were pleased with the overall ambience of the room which was high end and yet welcoming.
We highly recommend it to diners wishing for a classic dining New Orleans experience.
Love getting to Gautreau's when I visit. Food is always great and service is impeccable. Started with the Hamachi and Foie Gras. They always prepare Foie Gras excellently. The Grouper entree was also excellent. Finally for dessert had the Chocolate Bouchon. The only hiccup was they did not have the recommended Wine pairing with dessert. Small detail. Will definitely return.
Also, just a tip, if you have a chance go during the week. Much calmer and a more local crowd.
Third year in a row for a thank you dinner. My family who hosted me in Nola we’re thrilled with our dinner. The staff was just Perfect!!!!
Everything about Gautreau's is wonderful: From the hospitality of Patrick and the staff to the outstanding menu and dishes prepared to perfection, Gautreau's is at the top of my list in a city known for its excellent cuisine. On my recent visit to Gautreau's I had arugula salad and roasted duck breast. They couldn't have been better prepared. The Chocolate Bouchon was the perfect finish to the meal.
The resturant has a relaxed sophisticated decor that is perfect for business dinners, special occasions or a night out for a great meal.
Food was very good, but perhaps a little over rated. Excellent service. If you are looking for a fun restaurant, this isn’t it. Feels like the kind of place you’d take your parents to.
Food was excellent and the service was very attentive. Hopefully I can come back soon!
Excellent restaurant!! I was 20 minutes late, due to traffic, and they still accommodated us. The ambiance was relaxing, the service was excellent and the food was amazing. Hands down, one of my favorite restaurants in New Orleans. It’s on my short list for fine dining.
Everything was perfect. One of the best meals I’ve had in NOLA in 2 decades of dining here.
Loved that the restaurant isn't huge - makes it so much more special. Food was great, company was great. Somehow - the restaurant is noisy - made it a little difficult hard to hear the conversation at the table
Wait staff exhibited impeccable manners and were lovely. The food was to die for. Come here if you are passionate about delicious dining.
Been wanting to try this restaurant for a while now and did not disappoint. Will be back for sure!
Absolutely some of the best food in New Orleans. Dine there every time we visit there.
