Really nice hotel seems to be full of lots of locals instead of tourist which is nice. Food was super great. The signature chicken dish was very good. The duck was really good too. Had the daily special fish which was just okay. Nice wine list.
Lovely room, warm and welcoming owner. Hope to become a regular.
As long time regulars of many of New Orleans’ fine neighborhood dining establishments, we enjoy personal relationships with many owners and chefs.
Patrick is hands down the best proprietor we have in our wealth of culinary culture here.
The cuisine is consistently sublime with seemingly perfectly balance fl or profiles from top quality ingredients.
The ambiance is perfect for us, with a staff that appears when needed but never intrusive. Gautreau’s is like home to us, which is why we return so often.
Thanks again for another wonderful celebration, Patrick, and may the crowds return in full soon!!
The is the grand dame of Uptown New Orleans dining... hats off to Patrick Singley!
Nice food...Rude staff...unfriendly..hovering at the wrong time...seemed to be rushing us...I will NEVER go back. It started with an impatient staff member pushing me to shove my friend's birthday presents in a place they wouldn't fit, given the table she showed me to...I asked if we could sit at a less cramped table of a similar size and she said no...Even though there were NO OTHER DINERS in the room. I hated this expensive evening with consistently glum wait staff...Awful!
gautreaux's has now replaced clancy's as our favorite restaurant.
Visited Gautreau's Restaurant for the first time in 1995! Revisit every year of so since then and always one of the best restaurants in New Orleans! Food is Great as well as the service. You'll find that most of the guest are local which says it all!
located in a residential area of the garden district without a name on the outside... just the street number!
With many very good restaurants to visit, this is my favorite of them all!
Service, food, location were all great.
It is a small restaurant and not easy to social distance.
The noise level is pretty high.
The banana split dessert is fantastic.
Always a pleasure.
The service was wonderful, the food was a lovely blend of textures and flavors and the atmosphere is attractive and comfortable.
Dining here is a special and memorable experience.
Our favorite restaurant in New Orleans. A small restaurant that is beautifully decorated and a great experience in every way. Out of the tourist district and obviously frequented by residents of the Garden District. We always try to eat at Gautreau's when we are in New Orleans.
Incredible food. Wonderful service.
Excellent food and world-class hospitality! Extremely enjoyable evening!!
We love this restaurant and come to it when we visit New Orleans. The good and service are great.
We were celebrating our 38th anniversary, eating here made it very special! Everyone was very nice & polite.
Great service, nice atmosphere and amazing food. One of the best in NOLA.
One of the best small neighborhood restaurants in New Orleans...a hidden gem!
Genuine nola experience. Exceptional!
We celebrated my 54th birthday, my wife and two daughters. My was wheelchair bound from a recent broken ankle. The host was very helpful and went above and beyond to help us get in and out of the front door, and the car. A wonderful meal and experience.
A wonderful experience.
The best restaurants in New Orleans are not in tourist areas, but in neighborhoods. Gautreau's is one of the best. I has been a favorite of locals for decades. The food is excellent and creative. The soups are always very good, and they have wonderful appetizers including foie gras, or duck confit. Steaks, fresh fish, duck, shrimp etc. The service is wonderful. Parking is on the streets in the neighborhood or take a taxi or uber. You should get out of the house, dress up and enjoy a nice evening out.
Gautreau’s never disappoints! Delicious as always!
Good food and service
The food, the service, the old school elegance- all created a delightful evening. Put on a jacket and tie and take your special someone out for a real date. That’s not required but why not? It fits the ambiance and quality of this lovely little restaurant.
Excellent food (as always), great service, welcoming atmosphere. I recommend it highly.
Amazing as always. Gautreau’s is one of my all-time New Orleans favorites!
Gautreau’s is my favorite restaurant in Nola.
Due to COVID-19, we hadn't been comfortable dining there for just over a year. But now that we've been vaccinated, this was our first choice for dining in. And we couldn't have been more pleased. Tables are spaced to meet social distancing guidelines. More importantly, the food and the service are just as excellent as they have always been. It was a wonderful evening.
If you’re in New Orleans don’t skip Gautreaus. Everything was phenomenal.
Geautreau’s was fantastic start to finish last night.
Patrick was very professional and afable. Very very fast service ! The duck confit and the grouper were excellent. Great bar offerings. A little loud but the place was packed. Appreciate the custom of “ jackets required “, makes it be more elegant and gives the date a more unique flair. We’ll definitely be back.
The food was absolutely superb, the service outstanding and the ambience was lovely. We certainly enjoyed a superb meal and would go back again.
always a great meal at this neighborhood restaurant. Great soups and lots of excellent appetizers. we often just have several appetizers. The halibut was excellent. They now open at 5:30 so you can come early and beat the crowds. Locals love this place and visitors rarely find it.
Wife and I shared our joint birthdays at Gautreau. Enjoyed it so much, plan to do it again next year.
Food was excellent. Atmosphere was excellent.
Only Negatives, is parking "on the street" in today's increasing crime potential in New Orleans.
Food Prices were very expensive, but excellent quality.
Wine prices were so high, we omitted any wine with our meal.
This is one of my New Orleans favorites! Excellent and attentive service, while the food is delicious and creative. We love going for special occasions or just a date night.
Superb cuisine in an elegant and socially distanced setting!
A still shining light of the best of New Orleans neighborhood fine dining restaurants. Up to date takes on the menu with a commitment to comfortable and professional service. Great place.
