Table for eight for my daughter’s 40th. Could not have been better. From waitstaff to kitchen we were so pleased. My year old grandson slept in his carseat on the floor. I will return whenever i get the chance. Thank you for making it special!
Love this restaurant. Interesting food, great service
We don't visit Gautreau's nearly enough. It's a very small restaurant, with only 15 tables or so with a very cozy feel. The food was excellent -- among the best in town. Service was attentive, friendly, yet unobtrusive -- exactly what I would expect from any top-notch restaurant. We will be back again soon. Noise level was slightly elevated, but quiet enough for pleasant conversation.
Excellent food and service. One of our favorite restaurants in NOLA.
Always our favorite restaurant in New Orleans- great atmosphere, fantastic food - never disappoints.
The warmth of the wait staff and the owner, Patrick, was felt immediately upon entering. That was followed by great food and a wonderful atmosphere pervading throughout the entire restaurant.
Great experience. We will return.
Gautreau's is a gem!! It's beautiful and comfortable, the wait staff are real pros, the wine list and the cocktails are exceptional and their menu is terrific. The food is perfectly prepared and served.
Great food. Great vibe.
Service too stretched. Wait staff miffed that we did not put all our orders appetizer and entrees in at one time. And miffed that we added another appetizer 3 min after the first round of orders. I get it. When you are under staffed, any ripples are issues. Just don’t make it obvious to the customers, take it too the kitchen.
Wicked great place!!!
Delicious food. When it gets busy it gets noisy. But it’s all about the food.
In a city gifted with many excellent restaurants, Gautreau's is without a doubt the best - quiet enough, superb quality food, and with pleasant, unpretentious service that makes it a favorite of locals - the best place for dinner in New Orleans - period
The hostess was unpleasant on the phone calling the wife “mister” even after she corrected her. This already set the tone even before setting foot on the property. We came here for a birthday dinner, which although was low key, to have the special occasion never acknowledged was a little tiny bit disappointing. Needless to say, we didn’t get a warm welcoming vibe here although the food sort of made up for jt. The space felt a bit crowded and that’s the intimate setting for you. But the chairs were the dainty kind and very very uncomfortable even for the most petite in our group. Overall, the whole dining experience felt like it caters to certain types of people and we just didn’t feel like we belonged.
Fabulous all around as always - food, service and ambience is exceptional.
The ambience was great. The food absolutely delicious, and the staff was delightful and efficient. We always enjoy our meal and at Gautreauxs.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and the service was great. The staff was very attentive. It was warm and friendly with a romatic vibe. The food was delicious. Will definitely go again.
I have dined at Gautreau’s many times and it lived up to my expectations. I consider it the best restaurant in New Orleans
Attention to detail was impeccable. 10 out of 10
Stepping from the sidewalk through an unmarked smoked glass door into an intimate atmosphere of fine dining. The evening was as relaxing and enjoyable as hoped for.
Although I’ve been to this restaurant many times over the years, this is the first time we visited under the current head chef. The place was quite full, and quite noisy, more than usual. The food was excellent as expected, with my flounder being cooked perfectly, as were the vegetables underneath it. Wine list is relatively brief, but well thought out, and approachable. Variety of the menu is seafood heavy, but has interesting items such as lamb neck. Will be great to go back after a few months hopefully with less COVID-19 frenzy.
most people would save a place like this for a special occasion but I chose to treat every day like a special occasion so I say.. don’t wait… go.. and go often!
Our favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Impeccable service and food.
Fabulous service and the nicest most warm restaurant owner, Patrick. Thank you for making our evening so special!
Food was delicious! Gautreau's is definitely at the top of our list of restaurants when we visit New Orleans in the future.
It may be a "taste" thing, but we found this place a bit stuffy and pretentious.
Wonderful experience, food was excellent, service on top of their game and Patrick was a wonderful host...get the chicken!
Amazing meal experience here. Can’t wait to go back.
A really good experience. It was more a locals place but still easily accessible. The food was great as was the service and the welcome was warm and friendly. We highly recommend Gatreau's.
Always a favorite. My only regret is that I don't get there more often. Excellent apps, salads and entrees. Great service and very elegant, yet intimate, atmosphere.
Gautreau's was the perfect place for a birthday celebration!
I had the baby romaine salad and flounder as my entree. An they were both delicious
This restaurant is a hidden gem that is a local’s favorite. Everything was exception and the owner is fantastic. A must visit New Orleans classic.
We were a party of 4. The food was beyond amazing, but what made it extra special was the owner! He cares so much and makes sure you feel like family. He truly made us loyal fans for life! Get the steak, it'll blow your mind!
We have been dining at Gautreau's for many years. It remains an outstanding example of what a truly great eating experience should be. Excellent food served effortlessly (at least from the diner's perspective).
Best meal in 2021
Visiting New Orleans and checking on Michelin Star Restaurants. The food was superb and the waiter was very friendly.
Everything is prefect. From the moment you walk in and Patrick seats you, you are in for the best meal and dining experience in New Orleans.
Quaint, charming restaurant hidden in the uptown neighborhood. Highly recommend the filet, flounder, chicken, and beef tartare. I’ve had better fois gras, but overall a delightful experience. We will be back soon!
Delightful French-inspired food with excellent service. Take your time and enjoy a slow meal. There are no wrong choices on the menu.
Excellent restaurant with a great wine list. Can’t go wrong dining here.
I used to live in New Orleans area and brought my father here for a weekend late Fathers Day dinner. The host (forgot his name!) was so professional and kind. The servers were spot on, attentive while respecting space. The food was perfect for our meal. We will definitely return. It’s a little chilly so bring sport coat. All NOLA locals here, which is the place you want to eat!
