   An amazing, innovative menu in the theme of the Sound of Music. 4 courses including the fun cocktail, and the best version of struedel we have had- deconstructed. Why the restaurant was not busy, I do not understand. The ambiance is lovely, and the service was outstanding, and the price was very fair for what we received!

   We were looking for a table for 5 on short notice on a Friday night. Stumbled upon Gaumenfreund and so happy we did—the food, service and ambiance were absolutely amazing. Great family dinner for our last night in Salzburg.

   Wir waren eher durch Zufall am Valentinstag dort und haben uns das Valentinstags Menü gegönnt, alles Top, hier gibts nichts zu bemängeln, Preis/Leistung für die Lage und die Qualität der Speisen top.

   What a hidden gem. We had an amazing time here and with a highly personalized experience as we visited in the off season. Nonetheless, we had an amazing meal and on of the best service experiences we’ve had in a long time!

   Very delicious dinner with exceptional service in an elegant restaurant. Waiter helped us in selecting a nice Austrian red wine to pair with our dinner entrees. Very convenient location for our concert at Mirabell Palace.

   The food was absolutely delicious here. The menu is more vegetable focused which was great for my mom's health issues, but they still had classic Austrian dishes which I was good for me. The Wiener Schnitzel was the best I've ever had with a really good crust. The wait staff was very professional and working very hard, but they were a bit understaffed so the service was a little slow.

   Service was so bad it ruined the entire experience. There was only one server working the entire room flying back and forth. The line bartender helped when possible. Where’s the manager?? Food was good but took 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order and 45 minutes for daughter to get her drink. Food was good but not great. Skip this place.

    Das Essen war gut aber das Ambiente war sehr kühl. Es ist tatsächlich ein Hotelrestaurant, wo gefühlt hauptsächlich Hotelgäste und Tourist*innen hingehen. Einheimische sieht man hier eher nicht.
