About Gauchos Do Sul
The plains of Southern Brazil are filled with grazing cattle enjoying the vast pastures. These cattle are the source for the famous and centuries old Brazilian “Churrasco” barbecues. It was at these gatherings where Brazilian cowboys or “gauchos” would prepare large pieces of meat and slowly cook them over open flame pits. Our traditional gaucho chefs still follow these traditions to preserve the flavors of each cut of meat.

Gauchos Do Sul Ratings and Reviews
My team had nothing but positive good things to say about the food and the restaurant. We will definitely plan another dinner at this restaurant. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs. We were able to hear our conversations and could not hear what was going on at other tables which is a plus when having a large group for a dinner. The restaurant was clean and has a very good atmosphere about it.
Found this gem while looking for a place to celebrate my wife and my birthday. The restaurant was in a trendy area known as the Vintage Park. The customer service was top class with constant contact. The salad bar was great but the real star of the evening were the different cuts of meat. The staff came by with different cuts of Beef, chicken, pork, lamb, salmon and shrimp. All were excellent, now wife wants to come here monthly. Our new favorite restaurant.
Exceeded expectations. Wonderful, perfectly simple choices but sophisticated. Excellent salad and deli bar, and the cheese bread is nothing short of magical. Waiter, hostess, manager were all so nice. One of the best experiences I have had at a restaurant in a while.
I've eaten at several Brazilian steakhouse in Houston as well as in Brazil. Gauchos Do Sul was excellent!!!! The food was amazing and the salad bar had many great choices!!! The servers were very pleasant and attentive.. My wife and I will definitely be back there soon!!!
We have wanted to try this place for a while. It's tucked into a corner in the Vintage Shopping Center- so not entirely visible from the road. Gaucho Do Sul is amazing! The wait staff is energetic and eager to make sure that you get the best dining experience possible. They asked us if it was a our first time dining. Later the manager came by and we had a nice chat. He ended up bringing us a comped dessert at the end of the meal (BTW- best Tres Leches I've EVER had). Everything about this experience was great! Highly recommend! If you are familiar with Fogo, I think Gaucho is even better!
Our reservation was 6:30pm on a Sunday. The restaurant was virtually empty. There were perhaps three other family groups there for dinner. The salad bar was well stocked and had a decent variety of vegetables but it in no way compared to Fogo de Chao. The restaurant follows the same concept as Fogo de Chao but without the "quality and service" one would expect for $45 per person. The chicken was dry and the meats were not very flavorful. It was my husband's birthday and we were underwhelmed with Gauchos Do Sul.
I had to ask for a wine list, we were not given menus and as first time patrons we were not instructed about how the service would proceed.
This did not feel like a celebration.
Awesome food. Very nice cuts of meat and the wait staff is spectactular. They will find you what you are looking for, cooked the way you like. Service is very good. Steak is not my most favorite meal but these cuts of meat are very good. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.
First time at the restaurant. Service was amazing and so was the food. My only reason for not giving 5 stars all around was that we had to repeatedly ask for the filet and the shrimp and salmon to be served. They had plenty of the other cuts. Amazing salad/veggie bar too. We will go back.
So much yummy meat! Start with the beautiful salad bar items and, if you really want to, try the rice and beans and soup as a side. They'll bring mashed potatoes, plantains, and biscuits to the table. The variety of cuts and flavors of the meat was nice. The servers were solicitous but not overwhelming. It was a very nice outing for the girls.
Great food. True Brazilian steak house. If you like meat, this is a great place. Be sure to go hungry because this is "...all you can eat" . They do an exceptional job. Very friendly courteous service. Good salad bar. Worth the trip. I have been now about 10 times and never disappointed. No need to drive downtown or to Westheimer. The food here is better and it is less expensive.
Originally my husband & I were planning to drive further to a different Brazilian steak house until I discovered this one, so we decided to give it a try. From the moment we walked in the staff was very friendly & helpful. I ordered a drink that sounded great but ended up not being my thing & the bar tender immediately swapped it out. The salad bar was great; the mini wedge salads, fresh mozzarella & bacon were my favorites. The meats themselves are out of this world! The house specialty, shrimp & filet are my favorites, along with the grilled pineapple! Once they found out it was our anniversary they brought us out a delicious crem brûlée. We will definitely be back soon!
