Gaucho Grill - Long Beach Ratings and Reviews
The food was decent but the service was very slow. And although our server was friendly he was a bit on the pushy side. When I made the reservation I mentioned that we needed to leave by a certain time because were attending a show. They couldn't find our reservation. it took them almost 5 minutes or so before they even came to the concierge desk. The service was so slow that we realized we were going to be late. So we asked for our dessert to go because we were running so late. And they gave us a little bit of a hard time about taking it to go. Had we been served a bit quicker the meal would have been less stressed and could have enjoyed our food more.
Went on day 1 of Dine LA. The food that we did we receive was very good. The service was the best that could be expected as they seem to have been short staffed( our waitress was behind the bar at times). I allotted 1.5 hrs. for dinner to make it to a movie afterwards and ultimately I had to leave before dessert and getting up to get my bill as the waitress was nowhere to be found.
All the above being said I would go back as the food I did receive was great, portions bordering on huge and the restaurant itself is very cozy. I'll go on a Saturday afternoon and sit on the patio and relax for a couple hours LOL!!!
I love this charming restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious. I especially love the gnocchi which is as light as a cloud. Argentines dine. There is no pressure to hurry so the owner can turn over the table. You are welcome to stay all night. This restaurant is one of my all time favorites.
Excellent service. Our waiter, William, saw that we were not enjoying our lambchops. He politely came over & asked us how we ordered our lambchops. He then looked at our lambchops & noticed they were prepared wrong. He immediately sent it back to the kitchen & resolved the matter. When William returned, he brought us our lambchops just the way we ordered them. WILLIAM, MANY THANKS FOR AN EXCELLENT DINING EXPERIENCE. We will be definitely returning for more.
Gaucho is a place I've been to a few times. The food is terrific - simple but extremely well made. What makes this place special is the staff. Very attentive, very well trained and extremely focused on delivering a great experience. I love this place, and hope to eat here many many more times.
Pro tip - dessert here is awesome. If I could, I'd eat just this. The mozzarella caprese salad is also amazing, as is the Bife Al Ajo. Everything is great though, you can't go wrong with anything on this menu.
Food was not bad, but service was slow, althogh the place was only half full. Second drink did not arrive despite being requested 2 times to 2 diffrent waiters. Owner showed up with the drink after the meal and appologized. When the bill arrived I was still charged for it, smiled, payed, left.
One of the best dining experiences in a long time. Have been to some restaurants thought of being the “best” and “fancy”!! This one had the most incredible Staff and the owner was incredible in his making us feel like we were celebrities... even though it was our first , but not last, visit!!’
I'm glad we decided go to this restaurant after having a horrible experience 1 hour before and near restaurant Cafe Sevilla bad service this was our second time at Gaucho Grill great food great service and the restaurant manager is so professional the Samgria is delicious we definitely will go back soon
an excellent place as usual in terms of food, and very generous portion unfortunately the service mars it somewhat. we had 3-4 waiters it seems they could not decide who the server was? we asked for bread perhaps 4 times, as well as things such as water. They were very busy and it was a saturday night, but still this is not a new restaurant, they need more staff and more concern with service.
Great food. Nice patio seating. Seating inside is a little tight but nice ambience. Server was knowledgeable and helpful. Owner checks on guests and all staff seems intetested in taking care of you. Good cocktails and wine. Parking can be a challenge. 3rd time there and service and food have been consistently good.
They didn't have our reservation when we showed up but they were able to seat us right away. It was about a 35 minute drive from our home but it was sure worth it! My husbands family is from Argentina so we are always looking out for authentic food. It was so good!! The empanada (spinach with cheese) took us back to when his grandma would make them. The chimichuri, OMG!!! Yummy😃 We plan to return with my mother in law who's from Argentina. I think she will enjoy the food as we did.
Very tasty food but there was an issue with food quality. 99.9% possibility.
This restaurant and Open Table need to work out when this venue offers the specials. Making a reservation correctly based on what was incorrectly listed, and doing all steps properly, somehow led to both the restaurant and Open Table indicating that it was the customer who erred. Not so! And insulting! Great effort was made to be sure there would be no problem. Called a no show! What?
Food was good but waited for 1 1/2 to be served even though we have reservation. We ate at 9:30pm . Our reservation was 7:30pm. Did not get seated until 8:15pm. They did not even bring our appetizer or drinks. Pretty disappointing. Manager was very apologetic though and offered wine to compensate for the wait.
The service was very good, very friendly. The food was creative and delicious. They gave us warm bread and their oil dip. It was very hard to resist. They served a good dinner portion enough to save for lunch the next day. The dessert was also hard to not finish!!! The tres leches dessert and chocolate mousse were excellent! They worth the extra work out the next day!
