    Food was delicious. Restaurant is beautiful had great music with their in-house DJ. Servie was outstanding. Very attentive waiter. Would recommend. Definitely returning!

    Booked Gaucho for a birthday celebration on a Friday lunchtime.Was a great success,everyone enjoyed their meal.Steaks were outstanding,cheese bread was beautiful and cheesecake to die for.Waiter was attentive and very pleasant,I wasn’t sure which wine to get so he brought a taster of each ,without even asking.Will definately be returning.

    Fantastic service by all staff. Having made staff aware of my food allergies they advised of options available and were also able to provide information on alcohol free options. Lovely atmosphere, great food. We will definitely return.

    Hands down the best steak I had in Scotland. I went with my wife for my birthday and from the moment we walked in we were wide eyed at how amazing the restaurant was. Next time I visit Scotland returning here will be on the list.

    Very good steak restaurant but not tops. Excellent service, nice atmosphere, impressive beef but one of 5 rib eyes was not good at all - much fat and stringy. Rest very good. They gave us credit on our bill for the poor steak and were very gracious handling our complaint. Sauces and sides very good, nice wine list.

    We visited this week for an intimate birthday celebration. From the outset the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our waitress was simply incredible, she explained all the cuts of meat in detail, the origins of the wines (including tasters) to allow us to make an informed choice. Because we are both following a Keto diet at present they hand wrote a plate in chocolate sauce and gave my Fiancée free Prosecco! Incredible service with amazing food!

    Accueil excellent , on se sent important et le personnel d’une incroyable gentillesse. N’hésite pas à nous aider pour la langue . La nourriture excellente et bien présentée. Le cadre est super moderne et cosy avec une musique lounge juste au bon volume . Restaurant semi gastronomique, unique bémol les vins sont un peu chers.

    Service staff were excellent. Very attentive without being overbearing. 5 stars for that. Restaurant is well appointed and has a nice atmosphere if a little dark. To the food. Very disappointed tbh. Meal overall was distinctly average. Sirloin was quite tough (ordered medium rare) crackling was non existent. It was simply the soft fat around the steak. Served with average chips in a bowl. Sunday roast nothing to shout about either. Just average. I don’t know, I expected more. Table of 4 with 3 course meal and 1 drink each. Cider, Diet Coke 2 x cocktails and £265 lighter - (service charge of 12.5% service charge already added to bill ? Why do that ? Let customers decide what they want to pay for service ? Desserts were dry and uneventful. All in all, really disappointed. Edinburgh City prices for bang average fare….sorry, won’t be back. Great staff however.

    Disappointing. Dinner reservation during the week. Pleasant greeting at the door, and beautiful atmosphere, but we’re seated at a 2 top table next to a service area when the restaurant was completely empty. Experienced clanging silverware for a few minutes, and that was by the manager. Alex was very accommodating on trying the wine selection. Our disappointment came when we ordered our steak medium rare and when they delivered it (sliced mind you, so they could see it was overcooked) it was well done. Alex immediately agreed and sent over the manager. She asked if there was a problem with the food when she already knew of our complaint. She asked if we wanted a new steak but it would take 20 minutes. Mind you, no other patrons were waiting to be served. We declined. She removed the steak from the bill but asked if “other than it being over cooked, how was the meat?” It was dry was my reply and she said “it is always dry on the edges, even on a rare cook.”She obviously is not an expert on steak preparation. The meat had absolutely no flavor, the peppercorn sauce was the only saving grace for flavor. A poor experience for a restaurant specializing in prime beef.

    Although the waitress (Dorie) was nice, overall I was not impressed. I had asked that the steak be cooked medium-rare, but it arrived extremely rare. On top of that, we weren't given steak knives, so we struggled to cut the meat. I'm of Argentine descent, but the restaurant didn't feel very Argentine to me.

    We went to celebrate our sons 21st and had major problems getting to the restaurant for out initial booking time. Phoned them and they were very obliging and shifted booking time. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was amazing, the ribeye steak was like butter so soft and juicy. Our one non steak eater loved the gnocchi (and she is very fussy). Not cheap but so very worth it for a special occasion.

    We had a reservation for 7pm but had to follow up with host at 720pm as we were still waiting to be seated. As we got there 15 minutes early, we had been waiting 35 minutes by this time. Once seated we ordered and received our starter about 20 minutes later. We then waited another 15 minutes and had to chase up our main as we were due to go to a show. When the mains arrived 2 of our sides weren’t include with no mention as to what had happened. By this time we just wanted to finish eating to get to our show in time so ate what we got and paid the bill. This was a very different experience to our last visit and hopefully a one off…

    The restaurant itself is lovely however; given this is supposed to be a high end stake house, we were a little disappointed. The service was poor, the waitress barely spoke to us, nor was she very friendly and the stake was pretty tough for a fillet. I’ve had way better, in a less costly establishment.

    As usual, the steak and sides were excellent. My wife is coeliac, and it's great when the restaurant can confirm that their chips are gluten-free and there's no chance of cross-contamination. Gaucho also provided a nice plate of gluten-free breads. Service was excellent. Prices are high, but okay for a special occasion. As a friend of the fringe we enjoyed complimentary glasses of Chandon and a discount, which definitely helped make the cost more palatable. All in all, a really nice meal in very nice surroundings.

    It was a lovely calm peaceful place to retreat & enjoy amazing steak, fish, cheesecake & wine. Nothing was a problem & seats are very comfortable. Expensive but worth it as a special treat .

    Had a meal at Gaucho’s for my birthday. Had scallops to start, which were gorgeous, and my partner had spicy king prawns to die for, then fillet steaks medium rare, cooked perfectly. Service was excellent too - we were really looked after well. And they served up a mini birthday cake and candle to complete the celebration! Would heartily recommend!

    Mix up with order and we were apparently‘forgotten’ about, when food eventually arrived, some wrong side orders were offered. Ribeye was medium when medium rare was ordered. Fillet was excellent though, delivered as ordered. Table staff, attentive once problems identified.
