Just a short stroll from Waverley Station and steps from St. Andrew Square, Gaucho Edinburgh is our first restaurant in Scotland, bringing the finest free-range, grass-fed Aberdeen Angus beef from Argentina to the heart of the city.

We proudly celebrate Scottish produce, working with Campbell’s Meats, the world-renowned IJ Mellis cheesemonger and Mark Murphy fruit and vegetables. Of course, we have a cocktail using Irn Bru and are pleased to serve Stewart’s Craft Lager, brewed out of Loanhead.

Our private dining room, located on the right side of the main restaurant, is decorated with a blend of glass and mirror, filled with the best wines Argentina has to offer. The versatility of the private dining room means it is perfect as a temporary board room, for family festivities and special occasions. It is the perfect place to enjoy a perfectly cooked steak. Guest are welcome to order from our a la carte menu Sunday to Thursday, with no requirement to pre-order.

The first signs of Spring have arrived in full bloom across the country. It is this seasonal shift that has inspired our new set lunch menu, featuring Gaucho classics and spring favourites alike. Crispy prawns with a spicy aji amarillo sauce and pickled onions are the perfect complement to the warming weather before diving into a Gaucho staple rump steak with a generous helping of chips and chimichurri sauce. Or, opt for the pan-fried sea bream with a lively salsa verde and rocket salad before indulging in a sweet Dulce de Leche pancake with a scoop of banana split ice cream. Join us from 12:00 – 16:00 at your favourite Gaucho to explore for yourself. Two courses for just £17.95, or three for £19.95.
Sunday Roast

Our roast rump of beef is served with roast potatoes and unlimited Yorkshire puddings, accompanied by seasonal vegetables, and limitless red wine gravy for £26.95 per person. Looking for something extra special? Why not upgrade to our 200g chateaubriand for £41 per person. The ultimate Sunday treat. A classic whole Gaucho fillet steak, grilled and roasted with love to share, served with array of sides and, of course, limitless gravy to bring the curtain down on Sunday with aplomb. *Please note we cannot guarantee roasts beyond 5pm. *Also available - traditional Sunday Roast £15 for children and our Vegan Sunday Roast for £26.95 per person.

Had an excellent meal cannot fault meal , thanks to chief for delicious Monica our waitress was excellent, had a lovely afternoon with my sister, it was her first time in Goucho’s & she wants to come back again. Thank you

I wasn’t given a proper steak knife, and during the meal, I couldn’t find the waiter to report any issues — she never checked on us once. The wrong sauce was served instead of the one I ordered, and when I mentioned it after finishing my meal, the only response was that the sauce was free, even though I had clearly ordered something specific. Only one side was included with the steak; you have to order everything else separately. While the quality of the meat was good, the overall service needs serious improvement. It was the worst £95 per person I’ve spent — I’ve had much better experiences in the area for the same price, often even including wine. The 12.5% gratuity charge was absolutely not deserved; it would have been much fairer if they had deducted 12.5% from the total bill instead.

another 5 star experience at Gaucho. The minute you walk into Gaucho the beautiful aroma hits your nose and your escorted downstairs to a beautiful decorated restaurant. Service was 5 star, very attentive. Food again was 5 star. I can not fault Gaucho. you feel taken care off and never rushed. highly recommend Gaucho.

Two for dinner, dining on April set menu (3 courses £25) a bargain given the quality of food. Restaurant was busier than we expected for a Monday night, service was slow to get started but excellent when it dud. Really enjoyed our dinner.

As usual the food and table service was excellent. Only downside this time was a broken coffee machine and some outstanding repairs to the toilet facilities. So ambience a bit down on normal. How they fix this small stuff soon.
