Gaucho - Birmingham

Went for my birthday meal they were very welcoming, service and food was amazing and fast had the 3 course set meal waiter was very chatty and very informative which we liked. Steak was cooked to perfection and the starter was amazing something i had never tried before and desert was delicious. They brought me out a happy birthday written in chocolate with ice cream and a biscotti!! Very nice little surprise for my birthday! Overall experience was 10/10 couldnt fault anything was worth every penny

We absolutely love gaucho. We go on the BYO Mondays (no corkage!) which makes it really affordable for fantastic food. My steak was cold and staff were very apologetic and bought it back with an extra side and offered us a free dessert. Can't wait to go back!

Covid-19 impacted on restaurant numbers, only two other couple’s ventured out for lunch.

Our waitress was wonderful.

I will definitely visit Gauchos again.

Great food, excellent service however very loud with the DJ

I love this place, always 10/10 ! The staff, the food and the atmosphere.

We have come here 4 years in a row for someone’s birthday, and always had a great time. Food, drinks and service all on point.
This time will probably be the last. Service was very good but the standard of food and what was on offer wasn’t. Different menu and drinks package, not great value and all a bit sub standard.
Nor what we have come to expect.

The steaks were superb, and the staff were extremely attentive as we were celebrating 2 birthdays that evening. A very modern and up beat restaurant, it was very busy but noise levels were not bad at all.

Slow at times during service, food was gorgeous but my main was undercooked, they took it back and re-done it so not an issue. To be fair i was probably expecting more than what we recieved in our overall experience.

Steak excellent as usual, disappointed there was no Humita.
Quite noisy - more the ambient music than people.

No other words but FIRST CLASS

Visited Gaucho as first choice of place for a good steak which was superb - rump and fillet.
It was quite busy for Sunday evening - but service was good.
The ambience is a bit funny - it’s dark in many places with not many cosy spots for couples and tables for 2 sat next to groups ... but this is just my viewpoint ....the most important thing was for us was the food which didn’t disappoint.

Fabulous food, spectacular wine

My husband and I chose to visit here for our first date after having our second child- it had been a while(!) but we used to love fine dining and a good quality meal out pre children. The reception was very warm and the bar area fun with the DJ nearby. Cocktails made beautifully.

The atmosphere was lively yet intimate, a definite romantic air. The service was excellent -the waitress showed us the meat cuts and was able to answer all our questions about the wine menu. Luca was also very professional and friendly. We were kindly treated to a glass of fizz on the house to celebrate which made the afternoon very special.
We will definitely be visiting again, as soon as we can arrange a babysitter!

From our greeting on entering , service at the bar for pre- drinks and a knowledgable and fun waitress Gaucho was a wonderful experience. The food was excellent, in particular the fillet steak which just melted in the mouth. The side dishes were great too and the portions more than enough to share. All in all a splendid place for food, ambience and great service!

Came for dinner with my boyfriend, both ate of the Set Menu (three courses for £26 before 7pm.)
The scallop ceviche starter was delicious, especially the apple gel, but the lamb starter was just okay, nothing special. But both of our steaks (rump and sirloin) were fantastic, the tastiest we have ever had, and chimichuri sauce did not overpower-just delicious. Chips also good. You had to pay extra for any other sides.

Pudding was a slight let down-we both had affogato and it was a bit dull, just a scoop of ice cream and an espresso shot. Felt some other textures could have been added.

Overall, good service, nice ambience and decor and the most important part, the steaks, were excellent.

My daughter and I had a very enjoyable meal. All staff that we came into contact with were super friendly and efficient & food as always to a high standard ( we eat at Goucho’s often). Would definitely recommend!

Sadly my experience was very disappointing.
I did not get the cut of steak I ordered & paid for which was a fillet. I got a tail & they didn’t Offer to change it even though I pointed it out.
What I did get I sent back as it was rare & I ordered medium.
I wouldn't rush to go again

Fantastic food, fantastic service and fantastic place. The staff were incredible and made us feel so welcome. They also gave us a complimentary dessert for my 21st birthday and they exceeded all expectations (which were high from word of mouth recommendations). Expensive place but entirely worth the money.

My third time at Gaucho and once again the food and service was excellent.
However I was disappointed to discover that there was a DJ on the night I recently attended. Trying to conduct a conversation over dinner proved somewhat difficult. I would certainly check next time to pick an evening without the overly loud music.

Excellent food and service unfortunately the music from the newly installed DJ is too loud and spoils the ambience, its difficult to have a conversation without shouting to be heard and the music is absolutely awful. It spoils what would be a perfect evening at one of our favourite restaurants

Really unpleasant waitressing service ! I have already sent complain to the site as have never experienced so bad and unpleasant waitressing service with my partner on his bday being asked about age! And the core waitress being rude, unpleasant with lack of even a shadow of smile on her face! Really not nice experience this time as visited gaucho Birmingham in past and was more or less fine ! Next time will definitely go to Ivy or Tatuu!

By far the best steak I have ever tasted. Service was excellent, food is pricey but you certainly get your moneys worth !

Ok I would recommend but service was slow as we had to wait over 30 mins as table was booked for 8 then had to wait another 20 mins before taking order

Fantastic steak restaurant with good sides and sauces. Wine and cocktail list is good. Pricey but worth it

Nice feel to the place when you walk in, welcoming staff on hand to deal with you and show you to your table.
Good menu, with plenty of selections and obviously lots of steak.
The steak we had was slightly undercooked and my wife had to send hers back, the accompaniments were OK.
Had 2 glasses of wine and paid £24 for them, a total rip off.
The restaurant was quite dark and loud music playing, which with the noise of a full restaurant you couldn't hold a conversation.
Overall the place is OK, but overpriced and too loud. Would not be going back.

It was our first visit. We had to wait quite some time to be served for a drink at the bar but the table service and food was excellent.
We would recommend a visit to friends

Excellent as always, what more is the to say.
Service charge added to bill will never agree, also they charge service on VAT, (as does every other restaurant, surely charging a service charge on a tax is not correct)
