The story of GATTO MATTO

A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. Using premium materials designed and manufactured in Montreal, the elements marry themselves wonderfully. Bright and vibrant colors give a WOW factor that will make you feel like in a modern Milan hotel. The creation of the open kitchen concept never seen before in the Montreal area allows you to see the best chefs in the region at work.

Gatto Matto’s avant-garde and modern Italian menu was developed by our talented chef and co-owner, Ara Ekmekdjian. This multi-dimensional chef first studied the art of classical French cuisine under Richard Bastien at Lemeac. He then focused his attention on perfecting his Italian culinary skills at Beatrice. His desire to master his craft later led him to join the creative team at Le Chien Fumant, where he worked tirelessly to achieve the rank of Chef de Cuisine.

    Nous sommes allés un soir de match, service rapide, nourriture excellente pour le prix. Bel ambiance, personnel super mais beaucoup, beaucoup de bruit. Musique trop forte.

    Gros plus: le serveur connaissait très bien le menu et était en mesure de nous faires des suggestions. Il fût difficile de le voir par la suite, il semblait attiré par des jeunes clientes. Grand choix de plats sans gluten, mais malheureusement j'ai n'ai pu avoir une pizza, il n'en restait plus. Grosse déception pour une fois que je pouvais manger une pizza sans gluten en resto. Ma plus grande déception fût le choix de vins qui se vendent plus de 3 fois le prix de la SAQ. Pas beaucoup d'options abordables à ce niveau. Sachez que la clientèle est assez jeune et qu'il est préférable de réserver pour vous garantir une place. En somme, très belle découverte pour nous. Nous y retournerons.

    Des mets délicieux, bien assaisonné, bien présenté, ambiance chaleureuse, le service était professionnel. La pieuvre grillée e les côtelettes d’agneau étaient un délice!! Les spaghettis à la viande pour enfant était très bonne également ma fille a adoré.
