The story of GATTO MATTO

A revolutionary and Avant-Garde Art Deco concept with a flower bar theme that is a fusion between Chicago and Italy. Using premium materials designed and manufactured in Montreal, the elements marry themselves wonderfully. Bright and vibrant colors give a WOW factor that will make you feel like in a modern Milan hotel. The creation of the open kitchen concept never seen before in the Montreal area allows you to see the best chefs in the region at work.

Gatto Matto’s avant-garde and modern Italian menu was developed by our talented chef and co-owner, Ara Ekmekdjian. This multi-dimensional chef first studied the art of classical French cuisine under Richard Bastien at Lemeac. He then focused his attention on perfecting his Italian culinary skills at Beatrice. His desire to master his craft later led him to join the creative team at Le Chien Fumant, where he worked tirelessly to achieve the rank of Chef de Cuisine.

J’aime bien ce resto , jolie décoration, de tres bons choix de nourriture. Ce n’est pas ma premiere fois. Seulement hier le serveur était dérangeant, nous laissons sentir il avait hâte que nous quittions. Il a demande à maintes reprises autres choses? Facture? J’amene vos factures? Dites moi quand j’amene vos factures? Nous étions là à peine 1h45 ce n’est Pas comme si on flânait!

J’ai mangé le steak avec ma soeur et il était tellement salée et difficile à mâcher que j’ai pas pu continuer à le manger avec elle (et non c’est pas un steak bien cuit il était medium saignant). Quand je l’ai dit au serveur, il a dit qu’il allait aviser le gérant. C’était de toute évidence que ma soeur était gênée et mal à l’aise de retourner le steak mais à cause de ça je crois qu’ on ne nous a pas prises au sérieux. Elle disait au serveur “je me force à le manger depuis tantôt mais ne vous inquiétez pas c’est pas grave” avec un rire et un ton malaisant. Soit ce message n’avait pas été bien communiqué au gérant, soit on a décidé de profiter du fait qu’elle était mal à l’aise de se plaindre, pour ne rien faire de plus. Mais quand un client dit qu’on se FORCE à manger un plat qui coute 59$ et qu’au final on a laissé plus de la moitié du steak pour le jeter à la poubelle, c’est pas normal. On aurait pu soit lui proposer un autre plat, refaire le steak ou à la limite offrir une entrée ou un dessert? Le gérant n’était jamais venu nous voir et on nous a simplement apporté des shot mixés pour soit disant compenser (qu’on n’a pas touchés parce qu’on en voulait pas). Le serveur était gentil et agréable mais le problème n’a pas été pris en charge de façon professionnelle par l’équipe.

Tout était parfait pour mon anniversaire le service était impeccable et rapide c’est la première fois que c’est aussi rapide. Je recommande amplement ce restaurant !

From the minute i walked in ! Great aervice amazing cocktails , the food is exceptional ! Waitress , bartender , manager , eveeyone was beyond nice and made sure we were well taken care of ! Loved loved loved it ! Only bad part is the parking , make sure there is no show at the bell ! Overall is a big 10 ! Go !
