Windsor Arms’ restaurant features an Italian-forward menu, delighting guests with a variety of classic and contemporary Italian dishes and delectable comfort foods. Gatsby also has a premium international wine selection, which is the proud recipient of the Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator for five consecutive years.

Interior designer Jacques Dinel of Dinel Designs brought British influence to the restaurant, setting the atmosphere of luxurious comfort. Decorated with original print art from the UK and a formal dining area with original Charles Pachter paintings. Furnished with oversized Chesterfields and comfortable leather seating, The Gatsby is perfect for conducting your meetings, get-togethers, or hosting formal dining events.

Excellent choice for lunch. Beautiful room, and very quiet with not many people. Service was excellent and prices, considering it was Windsor Arms Hotel was reasonable. Good spot for a business lunch for sure or a bit of a splurge if it’s not. Had an excellent Caesar salad, ravioli, lovely desserts.

I have always considered the dinning room at The Windsor Arms as one of the better downtown restaurants. Unfortunately it fell flat on its face this evening. A major event was being held in the main dining rooms, and as a result, we were put in a small but elegantly appointed side room. The staff did their best to minimize the resultant noise level in our room. Unfortunately the waitress who served us was not up to the task, Her quality of service was more appropriate to a suburban roadhouse. She had to be asked twice to dim the lights (the other guests also approved) as the room was daylight bright at 7:00 pm. Further, when she served the wine, she obviously did not know how to present the bottle or have one of the guests taste it! While the restaurant may have had an issue finding sufficient qualified staff for the evening, they do have an obligation to ensure they are trained (they can offer a Coles Notes version themselves in 15 minutes). The dinner was also lukewarm when it arrived, which was delayed as the waitress did not heed our instructions to serve it when advised.The dessert Pavlova was hard and tasteless, not a goo choice! This was a vey disappointing evening, and The Window Arms will not longer be on my list for first class dining in Tronto.

Disappointing Experience at THE GATSBY at WINDSOR ARMS HOTEL I had high expectations for THE GATSBY, given its reputation as one of Toronto’s best establishments. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of that standard. The service was notably subpar—staff were inattentive and lacked the professionalism one would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. We waited an inordinate amount of time for even basic essentials like menus. Our server was both antagonistic and inattentive, adding unnecessary tension to the evening. Food delivery was chaotic: mains for half the table arrived alongside appetizers, while the rest of the mains were served an hour later. The wine service was equally disappointing. The bottle was not uncorked at the table, and when served, the wine had clearly turned and had to be sent back. Coffee was lukewarm, poorly brewed, and served without sugar or spoons—not for the coffee nor for the desserts. Adding to the lack of professionalism, staff spoke loudly across the restaurant, disrupting the ambiance. At one point, a staff member loudly used their phone while delivering balloon decorations, even knocking them into the chandeliers. Such behavior is far from the refined experience THE GATSBY should aim to deliver. As for the food, it failed to justify the premium price. The burger was undercooked, dry, and flavorless. These fundamental issues were compounded by a lack of attention to detail, further diminishing the overall dining experience. For a restaurant that prides itself on impeccable service and cuisine, this visit was deeply disappointing. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and leads to significant improvements.

A gem of a restaurant in a beautiful boutique hotel. The seasonal cocktail was excellent. Staff were friendly and service was great! Perfect for a date night.
